Waiter was nice. Ordered salmon was cold. New ordered salmon tasted dry and boring. The reception was horribly. Very unfriendly and unpleasant. Great disappointment...
The Alaskan king crab legs and the salmon was great! I’ve been here a couple times and am never disappointed. The only thing is it can be on the more expensive side but that can all be dependent on what you order. Either way worth a visit!
I rarely write reviews and have never written one that wasn’t positive, but we went to Shaw’s anticipating a great experience and left feeling disappointed. The ambiance was nice, and as expected. The hostess and really all staff were great - except for our waiter. Our server was subpar at best. Took far too long between visits to the table and told me that he couldn’t make change for a $50 bill for the valet. The food was fine but not great. We started with the $90 cold seafood appetizer for our group of 5. Nothing was below average, and a couple of items were good (shrimp and crab) but we’ve ordered comparable large seafood appetizer assortments at other places and this didn’t quite compare - and this is Shaw’s! That and the waiter are why I was so disappointed. Nothing was bad but I expected a lot more from a Lettuce restaurant and especially Shaws. Overall, a rare fancy (and expensive) dinner out for our family of five (grown children) and we all left felling let down. 😔
This is the best place for outstanding seafood in the city of Chicago. The fresh oysters from the west coast are the best in the area.
Excellent crab bites and Halibut. Oysters were delicious.
Everything was great. Super nice place to spend my birthday
A classic that always delivers! A must on any Chicago visit.
Chilled seafood combo was highly overpriced and failed to meet my expectations. Great lobster bisque
Last night on our trip to Chicago
Very comfortable with great food and the live music on Sunday was terrific!
When I want lobster, I come to Shaw's. After all, it was lobsterfest!
We were there to celebrate my daughter in laws birthday and it was never acknowledged. I mentioned this to the host and when we were finished I again excused myself from the table to talk to the host again. There was no acknowledgement at all. This alone left a bad impression and total embarrassment as we were specifically there to celebrate my daughter in laws birthday. Very poor communication and unprofessional. the staff was strictly there to engage with each other and not their guests!
I am a big fan of brunch and Shaw’s has the best brunch I have had in my life, hands down. Everything I had was delicious and fresh. The service was phenomenal and the atmosphere is beautiful and comfortable. One of my favorite places to eat in Chicago!
Overall one of the best brunch buffets in Chicago. This is a very expensive brunch so make sure to take advantage of the king crab legs!
Great place to brunch. What a range and quality of food. All exceptional except sushi which was not as good as my April visit
Attentive wait staff and food was excellent
No where to move based on where we sat. Packed in between two other tables. Noise level vey loud. Service was get you in and out as quick as possible. Food just ok. Better restaurants in the area, save your money.
Always consistent for food service and value. Which is why it has been a Chicago staple for so many years.
We went to celebrate my husband's birthday with their lobster specials -- which were very good -- expensive but a good value. There were four of us plus a toddler. Everyone enjoyed the lobster, crab, oysters and side dishes. The wine was good. The service was wonderful - the waitstaff was very friendly and efficient.
Had a great time with our daughter, from CA, celebrating her BD after her seminar. Drinks were good, Oysters excellent, and our meals were fresh and delicious. We try to visit Shaw's often because of the fresh seafood.
Service was good some of the food was disappointing. Felt the crab cake was missing something. Both sides weren’t as good as I expected. Mashed potatoes a bit sour and I felt that serving elote cold was an odd choice. Much better as a warm dish. King crab legs were the highlight however.
We never come to Chicago without eating at Shaw's. It never disappoints us and this time was no exception..
Great food and great time. Celebrating my daughters 16th Birthday
Outstanding and impeccable as usual. Reservations on a Friday night was quickly fulfilled
We were on vacay and a friend told us we HAD to eat there and he was right! So glad we took him up on his recommendation.
Fantastic as always!
I had indicated that we were celebrating a wedding anniversary. Every person wished a happy anniversary. And we received a free piece of cake at the end as well. The ambiance and music were great, the service was fantastic. I can’t imagine any better treatment.
Delicious food, great service and comfortable surroundings.
Outstanding food, fabulous service. We had one lobster for two of us. Great. Our other guests loved the food and service. A FABULOUS sea food restaurant deserves to be one of the top choices in midwest.
Shaw’s was as wonderful as I remember 15 years ago on my first visit. One of Chicago’s great places that never disappoints.
Great seafood buffet
You can't go wrong with the weekend brunch
We love coming for Sunday brunch. The food is incredible--don't skip the maple bacon!! Wait staff as usual were great. Attentive but not over bearing. Husband said the oysters were outstanding. Worth the money and the time. We stay through Sunday morning when in Chicago so we can come to Shaw's!
Amazing brunch that includes breakfast items, lunch, seafood, and dessert. Some of our favorites are candied bacon, donuts, chicken wings, augratin potatoes, lobster mac and cheese, prime rib, crab legs, sushi, crab with melon, shrimp cocktail, and dessert. Love this place!!!
Good food and service !
Shaw's has an amazing Sunday Brunch buffet. I would highly recommend it! There are so many options and everything taste wonderful.
Excellent service and food! The entire staff is always friendly and accommodating.
Food was good. I wouldn't say it was great and certainly not for the price level
Good but pricey. Lobster was very good but the oysters did not taste fresh.
