Reasonably priced, good tasting food at a casual restaurant.
Visited pre-theatre and with our reservation we were seated right away. waitress was new and tried her best. only issue was with the bills at the end of the meal.
I have sent them an email outlining the issued we were attending the theater and we're almost late even though they were aware of this. Ask for medium well steak it came rare.
Food was very good, serving staff was accurate, and efficient.
The server did her best with seemingly not much help from kitchen or bar. Two of us ordered beer. One of us ordered Smirnoff ice to find out they were out 20 minutes later. So wine was ordered instead. Our beer came 10 minutes later without the wine because the bar was backed up. After waiting close to an hour, the server told us our food was going to be a while. We explained we were squeezed for time now. Our food arrived shortly there after. However, one part of one meal had to be returned as it was cold. It did not seem busy there at all. We felt bad for the server as she was apologetic , was trying her best, and was very attentive to us.
Appetizer (Asian Chicken Bites) were really good. My burger was pink, friend’s steak was cold when he received it and another friend’s goat cheese salad was tasteless. We only complained about the steak. They took the steak off the bill, but didn’t remove the associated tax. Sent the bill back for a revision. Manager never came out to address the situation.
Restaurant was clean and modern. Not busy at all which was surprising since they aren’t that far from the ACC where the Pink concert was taking place that night. Every other restaurant had an hour wait. Maybe our meals were an indication why...
The food was as expected and our server was very good but the time between ordering and getting the meal was long especially as we were trying to get to a show after lunch.
We love Shoeless Joe's - we go pre-theatre every couple of months and have done so for many years! Food and service are great! We are always done on time! There are tons of options on King St. But this is the best one for us!
Arrived slightly early for our reservation to find they gave our table away. After being assured another part of the restaurant had a similar atmosphere we were seated under a loudspeaker that made conversation difficult. Not sure what the point is of a reservation and I guess the restaurant agreed as they marked us as a “no show” on Open Table.
Mains were good but sides were cold so even the food couldn’t save the evening.
Took the family for a evening at the Princess of Wales theatre and what was supposed to be a simple dinner. Nachos were dry(?) All dinners were late and cold when they arrived. Seems like there were issues in the kitchen. Waitresses seemed frustrated too. Would never go back.
Very cold temperature was about 16 degrees. Ate my food with coat on.Servers agreed it was cool as a of door being a opened frequently. Very uncomfortable. Last time for this location
The service was excellent, and food was really good, but the portion was small.
The host was very Happy to have us and remembered that it was an important BIRTHDAY celebration. Treated the BIRTHDAY girl , My Daughter and her guests like they were so important and made their experience at dinner fun and exciting the whole time throughout the night. Beautiful place with Beautiful staff. First time there and definitely going to be many more times. Food was Fantastic and the price is right!!!
mistakes on my order
mistakes on the bill
We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation (6:07 for a 6:15 reservation) and were seated immediately which was good. We then waited almost 15 min before I eventually had to go find a server. We'd been seated and forgotten about. Once our server was aware we were there she was attentive and made up for the miscue at the start. Later that evening I received a message from OpenTable that I had missed my reservation and needed to provide a reason. I also had a message on my phone from the restaurant that I'd missed the reservation. This was another miscue by the restaurant as I did provide my name when I arrived. The front line staff may need to pay a little more attention to detail and focus on the guests.
Typical sports bar with TVs everywhere including at the table. Food was tasty and portions large.
Food was good but portions felt too small compared to what other similar restaurants serve at similar prices.
We selected this restaurant for a quick dinner where we could watch the game before a concert. The restaurant had so much potential as a good sports bar with quality tvs all around, decent furnishings and memorabilia.
The food was average bar type food but the service was extremely slow even though there were plenty of servers given the few customers in the restaurant. When you are forced to get your own drinks from the bar because the server never comes back to your table, you know you are getting poor service.
Good food. Great service. Kid friendly. I would recommend the Thai shrimp quesadilla. Very flavorful. As well as the Crystal Punch, which was delicious and refreshing!
I was there for a regular afternoon lunch, but there are big TVs all over, so I would love to go for a sporting event, as well.
Lots of room, cheerful staff, menu typical of pub fare, strange smell as you near the washrooms however they were clean.
Very friendly, waitstaff was very helpful and attentive. Food was very good. Pleasant experience for dining before the Princess of Wales Theatre performance.
Linzee was awesome as usual. Great time. Thank you.
Although I made the reservation on Open Table at 2 pm they didn't get it until we were actually there at 7:20. We went you watch the Leafs game. The hockey game and NBA game was on so they chose to put the sound in NBA game. When that wasn't on, loud music was on. Mediocre food. Not the best sports bar experience
We have been there several times and have never been disappointed.
We have given this place many opportunities to get it right, but the last time was the straw that broke the camel's back. We will never go back again. Our meals were not hot, we requested extra veggies and less quinoa with our meals and were charged for them without warning. The chicken stir fry was missing half the chicken and the kitchen took forever to bring extra, instead of redoing it, just providing extra grilled chicken which did not taste right as part of the meal. The French onion soup was charged full price while we believed a discount was to apply. The manager did not reduce our meals by the appropriate amount with our Mirvish subscription and took at least 15 minutes to try to figure out how to do it. He did not attempt to leave us satisfied and willing to come back.
I think we got a new server. She wasn't getting much support however. Service quite slow despite not seeming to be that busy. Group of four. I asked for soup as a starter but it came with everyone else's entree. My entree came as the rest of us were finishing. Forever to get the bill. Server was apologetic and the restaurant made good on the problem, just was not that great an experience otherwise. Everyone loved their food. So that part was excellent
Newer wait staff who was working alone and the service was very slow
Delicious fish tacos and margaritas. Friendly service, especially terrific waiter.
Great place to watch a game with friends.
I made a reservation for lunch on Dec 14th prior to going to the theatre. When I got there, a sign was on the door saying the restaurant was closed which left me scrambling to get a hold of my friend and try and find another place to eat at the last minute. Not to mention it was freezing outside. My question is........you had my phone number, why was I not contacted ahead of time?
We had a great server, Lizzie, from Ajax. She was cheerful, on her toes, all round good.
Also, the food was good, as well as the beer.
Menu much improved since I was last here. They had several chefs they highlighted to create items on the menu.
When we arrived, we were brought to a table of 4. The reservation was for 5. Then when we asked to be seated at another table, the manager said "Sorry, but you'll have to stay here. There's a game tonight." I knew there was a game. When I made the reservation I asked for a table where everyone could see the screen to watch the game. When I got a confirmation call the day off, I had asked again and was ensured that I was getting accommodated. I wasn't. The table of 4 had 2 seats facing away from the screen. After about a half hour, the table next to us didn't show up and so we brought it over and only sat on one side of the table. It was NOT a good experience and I will not be making a reservation for a game there ever again. The manager was not helpful at all.
Other than the fact that it took forever for the food to come out - approx 50 mins - it was a good experience.
Had a great time before heading to the game.
The service was extremely slow, it took 30 minutes for me to get my cocktail and when my food finally arrived it was cold! The manager on duty was the only attentive employee and literally the only one that actually approached our table. I commend him for dealing with being short staffed!
The waitress was friendly and polite. Delivered our meal in record time as we had theatre tickets at 8 and were late due to traffic.
Food was enjoyed by all.
Quite limited menu. It took longer than 30 minutes to get our food on the table.
The experience wasn't great and as a result we left early to patron another establishment
