Sit in a booth and watch our Smack DAB chefs prepare your favorite item from our forno oven & open concept kitchen area. The room is designed to take full advantage of the incredible lake views from the restaurant and bar, private dining room, and outdoor patio. Large folding glass doors allow for an open-air environment in the summer months.
We are equally serious about our suds as we are about our food. We offer Kelowna’s largest selection of craft beer.

Food, view and service were great. Just what we expected from the reviews and recommendations. Would definitely come back
What a great place! Great menu for the whole family. Interesting and creative. We loved everything from appies to desert. Gorgeous view.
Very limited selection on the breakfast buffet. No option to order breakfast from the menu.
Great place right on the water - the food is excellent and the people-watching is outstanding. We’ll be back.
I reserved a table for 4 for my husbands birthday. It was pouring rain out so we sat inside. Service was good, my friend ordered the pasta and they forgot to add the chicken with it, they offered when the food came but she declined as she wanted to eat at the same time as us, she was a little disappointed. Other than that the experience was ok, if we come back we would like to sit on the patio.
The food here always is above what we expect. It’s high quality food without being to fancy but making you feel happy after. The bartenders know how to make some aw some mixed drinks. Over all a great place with an amazing view.
Was on vacation and came for a quick date night as I heard good reviews. The food was excellent and large portions along with a good selection of local wines. The restaurant has an amazing patio as well, unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy it as it was raining but will definitely be back.
Although I've tried a lot of the wines, I loved that they offer flights of wine (5 1.5oz glasses of either white or red) and its a nice way to enjoy and compare with a meal. My husband had the beer flight and raved about the 49th Parallel Radler!
Love the atmosphere, but would like to see more casual food selections such as gourmet salads, fish & chips, fish tacos, burgers.
We were seated across from the kitchen which was fine but without menus and service for 10-15 minutes. The waitress came by with the menus but no wine list which took another 15 minutes
The food was great but the service needs to be improved.
We found really creative food using unique and interesting flavors. Not your usual “boring” food.
My husband and I went for Father's Day Brunch. Took about 10 min for our server to come to our table. Not sure if, due to understaffing, he was really busy. Still, an unacceptable time to wait to be greeted and the restaurant was less than 50% full.
Food was OK nothing extremely good or not good. Selection of food very limited.
I would recommend Smack Dab as we have been there quite often for lunch and the food has been really good and service exceptional.
Disappointed in the brunch.
We went for breakfast buffet for Father’s Day. They did not add any special items to the buffet and the food was awful. Selection was very poor and the scrambled eggs had a disgusting sauce on them. There is no effort into making the food appealing in taste or presentation. The muffins were stale, the bacon was not crispy, the breakfast pizza was undercooked, and the sausages had no flavour. This is the exact same breakfast buffet we had a year ago, which was equally awful, but hoped it would be better considering the occasion (and we didn’t realize we had to make reservations over a month in advance anywhere good). Lesson learned. We will never go back for breakfast again.
The view is spectacular. The food choices for the buffet were okay. The scrambled eggs weren't very good, taste/texture from a package. Would have liked to see some gluten free options.
Went for breakfast and food was good but not $30 worth. No ability to order eggs any style. Coffee was very good but service was poor. Had to wait for coffee then had to wait more for cream & sugar. Got our meals and more waiting for cutlery. No salt & pepper on the table so had to wait for that; then server came buy to ask if we were done with the S & P and took it away. Was there only the 1 set available for all?? Won’t take the chance for lunch or dinner because of this.
Open table reservation was a joke as we booked the meal at 6 am, with reservation for 9:45, restaurant said they never rec’d our reservation - so not impressed with Open Table. Restaurant was able to seat us.
Great evening celebrating our sons university graduation. Great table with a view, great service, and atmosphere. My meal was disappointing but everyone else was happy with theirs. Prices are a tad high but you are paying for the view. We will be back and the patio looks like the nicest we have seen. Thank you!
First and foremost, I want to recognize our server; she was excellent. Attentive without being intrusive. My guest and I loved the view of the lake, even on a cloudy day. Our menu selections; a vegetarian sandwich for me and a creamy chicken pizza for my guest were disappointing. The pizza was bland and I didn’t care for the sandwich ingrediants. However, that may just have been my personal taste. We were pleasantly surprised to receive two free deserts due to a fairly long wait for our meals. Both deserts were delicious. I will definitely return to sample other menu items I know I will enjoy, like the steak sandwich or crispy chicken. Oh, and their fries hit the ball right out of the park!
Amazing views from the patio as we enjoyed our delicious meal! Vegan options available upon request. Cocktails were lovely!
As this was a Special Occasion I had called and requested possible a Desert with writing celebrating our Anniversary.
They did not let me down and the plate came with Anniversary/Date/Year which made our celebration extra special as well as the various Staff wishing us a Happy Anniversary.
Thank you Smack Dab we will be back.
Great experience with a spectacular view. We had the wine flight and the artisan board with delicious meats and cheeses. Definitely a hit!
Wonderful food, atmosphere, and service.
My mom and her husband were here from out of town and they had a wonderful time dining out at Smack Dab with my husband, my 2 year old son, and I.
The pasta with bolognese sauce was a little too spicy for my 2 year old but the very attentive and accommodating waitress switched it out for th chicken strips without any problem!
We would definitely recommend it, and will be returning!
The food was great. Loved everything that we ordered. The first server was great, really good at what she does, but then we switched tables because it was too cold outside, the new server did not seem to care much. The overall experience was decent.
Our reservation was made several days previous however it felt like we were given given "just a seat". Cole was delightful, and our brunch was satisfactory, beautifuly plated but not that hot. I felt delighted when my daughter called to pay for our meal, however having been to Smack Dab several times...this time I felt they could have done better.
Sat on the patio enjoy the awesome view by the lake staff was very accommodating
We had the mother’s Day breakfast/ brunch
The food was freshly cooked but it was a small buffet not much selection and we left disappointed that it was not a more diverse selection on this special day
Gluten free pizza might need some work ;)
Overall, we had a very good experience at Smack Dab. It started a bit slow, as we needed to wait half an hour for our reserved table to be ready, but the views from here are worth the wait. My pizza was pretty good, though the crust could stand some improvement. Dessert was excellent. I would have liked to have seen more variety of local wines and beers - it was a bit thin. There also was a pretty rowdy group next to us for a time - though that can be hard to control.
We will definitely repeat as locals, however may not come prime time weekend evening to allow for a quieter experience.
The service, food quality, and ambiance were lovely. What wasn’t so lovely was the nearly empty (or actually empty) hot food buffet. We stood and waited in the quite unbusy restaurant for almost 15 minutes for scrambled eggs. Really really good scrambled eggs, but still. For all of us, including our out-of-town guests, it made the value for money equation just a little bit sketchy. We live Smack Dab and will go again, but this wasn’t a brilliant visit.
Great night at Smack Dab. Food was excellent and value for $ spent. Nice wine and beer selection. Always consistently good.
We enjoyed the choices on the menu. Our server was very good. We come here a bit. We still can’t figure out why the burger isn’t on the menu.
Always enjoy this restaurant. Had a wine flight. It was presented well. Easy to tell which wine was which. Didn’t care for the calamari. It was a bit dry maybe? They use cornmeal which is a great idea but it seemed too dry. The Jalapeño rings in it were great though! Pizza is always good.
Have not been for years - since it opened and was delighted with the quality of the food, service and selection of craft beers. Really good food, well presented. Excellent value - and pleasantly surprised by same. Very efficient and appropriately friendly and attentive staff. Slightly noisy at times (6:30--8:30) but as always a wonderful location, on a beautiful evening. Plenty of parking. We had a seat in the middle of an aisle--a slightly awkward location for guests and wait staff as its a bit small for comfort on both sides of the dining experience (though the booths looked great).
Open Table booking worked seamlessly--thank you. Makes me wonder why its been so long since we were last there? A great place to showcase the Okanagan with friends from New Zealand. Thanks--we'll be back!
The redeeming quality that this restaurant has is the beautiful view. Breakfast stopped being served at 11:00. We arrived at 11, I ordered the all day Sunday breakfast option of eggs benedict and was told by the server that the kitchen couldn’t accommodate my dish because I requested scrambled eggs. I order this often with generally no issue. The server then had the manager come over who informed me that scrambled eggs couldn’t be accommodated and I would need to order something else. Disappointing that this was my response and I could have made these eggs at home in no time at all. I am a local and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone and felt that I was more of an inconvenience to the manager than someone he cared to help. It should be noted that the server herself was fantastic- just didn’t have the support from her team to save the dining experience.
The food and service is always impeccable, but sitting beside Lake Okanagan is divine.
Lovely mid-week special occasion dinner at Smack Dab. The creative food presentation, portion size, and taste were all excellent (lamb and steelhead trout entrees). Service was knowledgeable, attentive and well timed. We did, however, find it curious to enter the dining room through the sports bar. With a view and menu like that, a separation of the two would enhance the dining atmosphere. Still, a delicious overall experience and we would happily return.
Would request a table next time- booth was a little tight
The staff are friendly and efficient and the ambience makes it a great place to meet with friends for a casual but delicious meal. The lakeview is up close and personal. All in all one of the best places in town to meet.
I have become a regular customer and enjoy everything and my favourite is the wine flight, pizzas and desserts as well as the option of homemade ice creams and sorbets.
Excellent as Usual
Very enjoyable, nice location , excellent service
We visited on a Sunday for lunch. Two mature females and our over 90 Mum. The things we liked most were the view, excellent menu, tasty food, good service and non intrusive but trendy music. The portions were large and filling. Prices were good but smaller portions with smaller price options for seniors would be preferred.
There is a $29 set menu with either appetizer/main or main/desert. No option fir appetizer and desert which was our preference. As none of the set menu items interested us, we ordered off the menu and had seafood chowder, steamed muscles with pita/naan (enough for two), Green salad with prawns, arugula salad and sour cherry cheesecake. Apparently you can request the salad as a side but we didnt see any mention of this. The desert cheesecake was good, but small considering how large the appetizers and entree were.
We booked online and selected “birthday” but no mention was made and no candle arrived with the cake. This was mildly dissapointing as we expected some quiet acknowledgement for my Mum who didn’t want a fuss, but a candle would have been nice.
I’m going back this week with a friend for her birthday and will see if this was normal or an oversight.
