Fabulous service and amazing food- absolutely recommend!
Extremely loud & noisy, expensive for portion sizes
Great spot for a delicious lunch with a nice glass of wine in lovely surroundings.
Met for a meeting over lunch. Started getting a little louder as the restaurant became busier. I excellent value
We enjoyed our brunch! Coffee and food were hot, and tasty!
Enjoyed lunch at Smith's. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. The only criticism I have is value for money. I believe the prices are about 15% too high. Example, $4.50 for a cup of tea seems high.
Otherwise great overall.
Service was great, food was great too! I had the wrap and fries-both were delicious and reasonably priced. Will be back to try other items on the menu!
The food was not worth the price. I would mot return nor would I recommend.
perfect place to catch up with friends and the food was great!
Sun h with friends. Good central location
Delicious food and great service. Only issue was we had to book a table at 4pm and the restaurant was no where near full when we finished at 6. Also was on the quiet side in the lounge area where we ate. Not a lot of life. But again, most importantly, delicious food!
Breakfast was ok but not exceptional other than the very good service. Toast was dry and jam had no flavour .hotel prices for hotel food. We would likely take a pass in future but our friend is celiac and they are very accommodating for that
The food was great and our server was fabulous. We will definitely do this again.
My elderly parents and I were at Smith for a rare treat as part of their weekend away. My mom ordered the lamb. It was a bit well done and Ben, our fabulous waiter, made sure to fix it and gave my parents the best experience. His kindness and thoughtfulness meant the world to us. Thank-you, Ben!
The food and service was very good. We were able to have easy conversations during dinner. We enjoyed the experience.
Overall the experience was good, and our server was exceptional, but we did wait for 1h45m for our food to come out. Our server did update us that there were several 10 person tables that the kitchen was accommodating so our food would be delayed. Fries came out cold but everything else was outstanding. We had a majority of our bill compensated for the wait, which we were thankful for. As previously an employee in a restaurant, I understand when kitchen gets behind with long parties, I just hope this isn't a regular thing at Smith, as we want to return again. Thank you to our server for her updates, explanations, apologies, and great recommendations.
The steak my friend received was the smallest steak ever. The menu should reflect how tiny it is. He was so excited to have steak and so disappointed when this small steak arrived. I ordered my burger without bacon and it came with bacon. The burger was yummy though.
The pickerel was fabulous and the wine was excellent!
The bar was out of a couple of basic items. The Mac and cheese was a bit dryer than in the past.
The food was delicious but the food did not sit well.
3 out 4 of had a bad stomach after our meal. My mother was the only one who didn’t and curious enough she was the only one who didn’t eat meat.
Beautiful Restaurant and lovely ambiance! I would definitely suggest it to others to try.
My Mom and I both had the Reuben with the house salad, but a lot of my Moms greens were wilty, so she never ate it. Some of mine were also, but not as much. But they were very sorry. Our waiter was Thor and he was very attentive to our needs.
We arrived right on time for our reservation (birthday party) and our table was not ready. Staff at entrance were not friendly or smiling, in fact, they looked as though we were putting them out by arriving.
No vegan options and the dish made for our vegan guest, was terrible and she sent it back and ate my fries.
Server was incredibly nice and welcoming but drink service was slow to refill and food took a long time to be served.
My steak was done correctly however, al food on the plate was cold.
Quality check for first and second courses didn’t happen until the meal was almost finished.
Caesar salad was bland.
Loved the atmosphere and ambience however, we will not return.
Our server Matt was lovely! Very helpful in providing suggestions and making sure we were taken care of the entire night.
Making reservations was easy and convenient. Entrance went smoothly. We all enjoyed our meal. The burger was yummy. Will be going back next.
Not the best experience unfortunately…..
Amazing! I always love coming here. Food is excellent.
Outstanding service! The food was incredible. Timing was perfect. We did not feel rushed between courses.
Always awesome! The food was amazing. Very professional service
COVID19 protocols were poorly implemented. Hostess checked vaccine cards but did not checks names against ID as per law. We were seated at the end of a row of tables immediately beside another table for 2, so close to them that I wasn’t even sure I could fit between the tables without touching menus and the ladies purse on the bench beside her. Social distancing measures were not followed. The hostess reseated us. The place was almost empty and we had a reservation so why would they seat us right on top of somebody else especially against public health orders for social distancing?? A window table would have been nice for this planned date, but we got a table by the kitchen that was at least more private except all the employees walking by repeatedly to a back door. A private dining area nearby was occupied by a couple of employees sitting at the table with place settings and they used the table to talk for a lot of the time we were there-I wouldn’t want to be seated at that table after having people touching and talking over the place setting in a pandemic. I had the steak and frites with chimichurri sauce. The fries were a bit greasy with black burnt pieces in them and a small amount of coarse salt for seasoning. The steak was cold, 6oz and had no seasoning on it. The chimichurri sauce was not made of fresh ingredients and had no real flavour. There was no steak knife and the server offered to get me one but disappeared so I could not get it or ask for salt and pepper until I was almost done. I went to the restaurant particularly to have that dish and was extremely disappointed after hearing what a great restaurant it was by others including out of town coworkers who I have suggested stay at that hotel in the past. The dessert menu was uninspiring unless you loved cream. I would have ordered a cocktail after I had some food if staff had checked with me. Measures were taken for customer satisfaction but overall I felt that no one cared if we enjoyed our “date”.
Food was disappointing. Had been there awhile ago and food was much better.
Comfortable and homey, modern design with local colour. Antler chandelier would have made the room pop if only the light bulbs had been cleaned. Upscale digs like this turn on small details.
Server was attentive and friendly.
Was disappointed with the steak, disappointed with the gluey potatoes and disappointed with the rugged looking side of beets.
Espresso and latte were terrible- frankly awful. Oftentimes if an establishment misses in the other areas then a cup of great tasting coffee can help to redeem the experience. Not so. It’s hard to imagine how an upscale restaurant like Smith cannot know how bad their coffee is. Tasted like brown water ( espresso). I thought to myself, I’d hate to be staying here and have to drink this awful coffee especially first thing in the morning. Another detail, another failure.
The dessert was awful. It had to have been sitting in a dessert tray for awhile as it was so dry I could barely swallow. Whoever cut the cake and plated it must have seen that it wasn’t fit to be served but yet .... it was. Again, who is checking for these details?
The choice for us was Smith or the Keg. In hindsight..... we should have gone to the Keg. Attention to detail and consistency is the key to the Kegs success and to why customers keep coming back. In that regard, Smith has failed.
Had a good time. Food was good and our server was pleasant. Will do it again.
Fantastic food and service! My favorite restaurant by far!
Very small uninspiring lunch menu. $17 for a hamburger. Very nice servers.
Great place to eat: comfortable, classy, incredible food and presentation, staff do not hover so there's good relaxation time.
Everything was great. Glad it was on Opentable s as we were from out of town and not familiar with the area. Thanks!
Food was great, server was excellent gave us some good recommendations however we were right near where some other servers were I don’t know if they were cleaning up plates or whatever and kept dropping stuff on the floor and made a lot of noise behind us or behind me several times so it was hard to have a conversation at some point in time if it wasn’t for that it would’ve been all perfect
Although we had reserved for the patio we changed to indoors because of wasps. Inside is fine except that it can be noisy, especially with larger parties close by. This makes it difficult to hear the server. That said, food and service were superb.
Food as always was amazing! This was the third straight year we’ve gone for our anniversary and we’ve never been disappointed. Can’t recommend enough!
