Great food and service
Great place for those who love prime rib and yorkshire pudding. The Greg's Ice Cream for dessert is a perfect ending.
This restaurant is always great!!! The service is impeccable, wait staff all very amazing . Would recommend this place. Beef is amazing cooked to perfection. Go and try!!!
My only real complaint was their knives being way too dull. The cooks were quite masterful, and the entree such as the ribs and bacon wrap steak were very tender. The prime rib were medium rare and tender enough to be tear by the knives and fork alike. In other words the knives never really cut anything, and should we have a guest that would order medium level or beyond that will too tough for our set of knives to slice. The grooves on the steak knives was good indicator they weren't sharpen recently.
Great Prime Rib. When they say it’s their specialty, they mean it. I finished every bite of it! Loved our server, Brittany. She made effort and a great experience seem effortless, along with her smile! Thanks for a great dining experience! My first time there...won’t be my last! That’s for sure!
Consistently good steak and burgers. We love the mashed potatoes!
Nice place for a family dinner and service always good.
Portion is good, however, noticed the prices have gone up and at this price, this place is will no longer be my “go to” gathering place.
Overall, this place is good.
Our server was amazing Saif I believe his name was, super efficient and above normal service
Only complaint was the temperature was very warm, people were sweating while eating
Ok for weeknight dinner out ..... fast service.
We will be back. Now we do t have to go downtown for a great steak. But wish they had more steak options. Otherwise. Wonderful.
Always the favorite place to go
My husband and I came here for a birthday dinner. I had mentioned on my online reservation that it was for a birthday occasion, but did not expect the waitress to come out at the end of our meal with a birthday brownie on the house. That was such a pleasant surprise - and it was the best brownie I've had - warm and filled with pecans, served with a scoop of ice cream. Yum! Food was good quality and came in generous portions. I had the steak with salad and the meat was so flavourful that it tasted better without the peppercorn sauce I ordered on the side. We were stuffed! The atmosphere was casual and enjoyable.
I lv this place service and food always great!!! Food is always cook perfect, if not they have no problem making it to you taste.
The steak paired with matchsticks fries and peppercorn cream was delicious
Prime Rib Platter - two thumbs up
PEI Mussels steamed with Smith Bros. All Natural Premium Lager - two thumbs up if you like Lager taste.
Excellent food. Went for the second time and it tasted the same as the first time I went.
High standard and good quality. Price is good
Excellent food and wonderful service! Noise level a bit loud for our tastes as the venue was very busy.
Food consistently delicious. Great value. Steaks done just the way you ask. Very impressed with the food, drinks, service. It’s our go-to place. Love it.
Really appreciate the cook accommodating my mother in law. Made home made onion strings! ( which I think you should have on the menu) they were great and that is superior customer service! Always love coming here, my only concern is the food needs to come a little faster.
We were seated but had to wait close to 20 minutes before we were given menus and acknowledge by our server. Finally after trying to get someone else’s attention, the host realized what was going on. After the initial mishap, the server has been very attentive. a quick turn around on service !
We always enjoy having quality and perfectly executed steaks whenever we dine at Smith Bros.
Upon receiving our checks, we realized they have removed the charges for our appetizers for the earlier inconvenience .... not necessary.. but is greatly appreciated.
We went to this place because it had great reviews. We were not disappointed. From the time you walk in the staff is very friendly and very helpfully . The food is great. You have to try their salad is the best. We will be going back.
The food was great but a little too much interruption from the staff.
I went to Smith Bros. specially for the prime rib & Yorkshire pudding. Big mistake! The Yorkshire pudding was the worst I’ve ever had in my life! It tasted like nasty burnt eggs... and I’m not sure how you can mess up prime rib... I ordered it in the rare side.... & it was... but it was also dry! How is that even possible? Was it reheated in the microwaved before serving? Maybe... but if it had of been cooked properly, the fat would have been fully rendered... but it was Not! How is that even possible? I ate my baked potato for dinner.
I also had a chance to taste the ribs. They were cooked properly, but the flavour was...meh! I would never crave them, that’s for sure.
The atmosphere was quiet, the waiter was pleasant and professional, and the dessert was adequate. Nothing special.. but not awful.
So... would I ever return? Not a chance. There are way to many restaurants in Toronto serving delicious, thoughtfully prepared, delicious meals for me to ever even consider it. Sorry Smith Bros.! It was a total Fail! :(
Perfect place and food is great on top of price point
This is the second time being at the restaurant. We decided to give it another try. There steaks are mediocre at best. No seasoning, I had the ribeye and it should be flavourful... Nothing not sure if the chef even knows what salt is! Ordered a $7 mixed seasonal vegetable plate for two. This consisted of two very small heads of broccoli steamed with absolutely no taste again. Talk about misrepresentation on the menu. I recommend avoiding this restaurant and going to the keg same price and no comparison. At the end of the meal they bribe you with a free appetizer for a good review. How they have such a good rating on open table is beyond me except the owner has a lot friends who do reviews for him!
I brought a group of friends who had never been to Smith Bros before but wanted to try it because I rave about it all the time. Everything was perfect - the food, the service - everyone had a great time. Our server, Revon was amazing.
Friendly staff, steaks were great!
Overall taste is good however, if you want rare, ask for blue. I have been there over 6 times and every time I order rare, I get a perfect medium rare. I would like for once, to have it the way I like it. I don’t want to send it back because it is a waste of money. But, I just might in my next visit.
I love this place. My wife and I love this place, I should say: the service never disappoints, the steaks are cooked to perfection, the meal comes with very tasty side dishes.. and the beer is top notch! It's quiet enough to have a romantic night out, and busy enough to feel comfortable being in a larger group. I'm looking forward to our next visit!
I goto Smith Bros. Steakhouse Tavern in toronto
Just to get burnt marshmallow ice cream with a side order of prime rib complete
And hidden menu of ribeye complete
Good food good service
Will come back again
Dinner for four on a Saturday night to celebrate a graduation. Waiter and service was excellent. Steaks were all fantastic, chicken marsala was very good. Tableside guacamole was delicious! Casual atmosphere but food is great! Would recommend highly!
Our waiter was fantastic - very pleasant, very polite and extremely attentive. The restaurant decor and ambiance were interesting at the entrance and extended approx halfway through the restaurant. However, where we were seated (at the back and off to the right-hand side) it was barren and felt like sitting in a warehouse. We ordered sirloins from the 'Complete' menu. Although tasty and tender, our steaks were not cooked as we had ordered. The one that was ordered well done was actually medium well with pink throughout the middle (despite the waiter asking our permission to butterfly them for even cooking). The one ordered medium well was actually medium rare with much more pink and some blood toward the middle, which was a turnoff. It was kind of surprising the kitchen had seemingly rushed our order considering the restaurant was NOT busy at that time (approx 5:00pm by the time our food arrived). It didn't start to get busy until around 5:30. As mentioned, they were tasty and tender and since our time was limited with somewhere to be at 7:00 pm, we didn't bother to make a big deal and send the steaks back to the kitchen. Instead, we ate 'around' the area that was the pinkest and bloody. However, had there been more time, indeed we would have sent them back, especially as the undercooking caused 2 people of the 3 in our party to leave a large chunk of pink steak on their plate. The Caesar Salad was crisp and delicious; however, the Matchstick fries were quite bland/tasteless. As for dessert, the waiter brought a surprise triple chocolate nut brownie with a candle in it as recognition for the birthday we were celebrating. Although it was a nice touch, it was extremely rich and very dry, causing the birthday girl to leave a chunk of it on the plate. But the mixed berry icebox cheesecake (which came with the complete dinner) was delicious and made up for it. All said and done, it wasn't a bad experience but it wasn't a great one either.
awesome as usual. I asked again why Smith Bros. doesnt offer Growler service and was told this time that the taps are limited. with the abundance of craft breweries available now Smith Bros. should look into this as a serious business opportunity
We found our waitress BRITTANY exceptional. She really made the evening most enjoyable.
The best service you could ask for.
My standard order is complete prime rib 12oz
But today i showed up before 4:30pm
first time ordered the equal delicious rib eye steak 14oz
“Sorry Prime your second place now” @ck
I have been to Smith Brothers many times for everyday dining and special occasions. I’ve alwayst requested George as my waiter and the times I’ve arrived and was advised that George was not working that evening...I could tell which waiters have been trained by George. They are more attentive and ensure that you have a great experience and our waiter Patrick confirmed this. Thank you Smith Brothers for another great experience.
Had a great time dining at Smith bros.. The service was impeccable and that of an establishment which you expect to pay much more. The steaks here are amazing for the price that they charge. There simpily isn't any place better in the city when looking at this price point and quality. However the prime rib here sells fast! Make sure you get in early before it's all gone. It's that good.
Came here because of the reviews. Unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed in both food and service. The medium rare New York steak was dry and the wine selection was extremely limited. I ended with a beer instead, which had quite a bit if foam. Don't even get me started in the service. The server was extremely unenthusiastic. If the credit card machine expects me to pay 15%tip (lowest option) than the service better live up to it, which it did not. Price is decent for steak but I'd rather go elsewhere for the same price.
Awesome as always.
