Join us for a Gala Christmas dinner buffet 4pm-7pm
Special New Years Eve 4 course dinner, reservations available from 4pm - 10pm
Food was unique and delicious, had the Red Flannel Hash. Waiter was very nice and attentive. Overall enjoyed our breakfast experience!
I have eaten at this restaurant many times now. They do a great job of updating the menu seasonally and seems as if they try to use as many locally sourced produce as possible. They always have interesting cocktails and it is a great place to just go for drinks. They will often have live music as well. If you are in the Forks area and want a unique place to eat and drink this would be a great spot for you.
we had a very delicious lunch, back bacon special, with wonderful in restaurant pickled vegies they were a treat on the sandwich. well presented with salad
server was helpful and took very good care of us.
would recommend for a lovely lunch
My partner and I went to Smith to celebrate her birthday. We both ordered steak. My partner ordered hers medium and when it came out it was barely medium rare. Our server asked if everything was to our liking and we let him know that the steak was under done. He promptly returned it to the kitchen. The same steak returned a few minutes later. Now it was dry on the outside and a bit charred but amazingly still medium rare in the middle. The server returned a second time to ask how things were and we told him it was still under done. The server actually said that it looked medium rare and this was after it was re-fired. At this time he offered to comp a dessert which was an ok compromise. We ended up not staying for dessert and we were comped for half of the one steak. I felt that we shouldn’t have been charged at all for my partners steak. She ended up leaving 25% of it on the plate and not enjoying the 75% that she did eat. When you pay more than $40 for a steak it should be better than the one you cook at home, not underwhelming.
It was fine
This has been my go to place, great food and drinks. Hit it up on a weekday evening for some quite dining or Friday and Saturday night for a live band and excellent atmosphere.
Great date night spot that serves amazing food. The ambience was perfect! Service was great! Met wonderful strangers dining next to us.
A wonderful selection of salads, small plates, and large plates - all good for sharing. We particularly liked the salad with feta, and the arctic char. The risotto was delicious - but incredibly rich, and the broccolini, while perfectly done, was swimming in butter.
We chose Smiths for dinner with friends. Everything was wonderful. Service was very good and the meals were good. Two of us ordered the fried chicken and the portions were big enough to share. Very very good.
Read my Yelp review.. so not impressed and will be telling everyone
The only thing ok, was our server.. but just ok
Beautiful place but NYE dinner was fairly poor. It was my first time and was expecting a much better food according to so many good reviews.
New Year’s Eve
We were very unpleased with the quality of the food. Soup was bland, too many deep fried options through out menu and only veg dish was too niche. Expected more as plates were $80 each. We were seated in the side room, which had no ambiance for a NYE $80 a plate evening. I’m a vegetarian and the only veg dish did not appeal to me (too many strong flavours combined.) I ordered it but the flavour were so strong I never ate it. So we stopped for Thai on our way home. No value for the $250 we spent. Put a damper on our NYE for sure. Our server was nice, service was prompt. We did tell our server we were unhappy but there was nothing she could do. Most likely would not go back.
Special New Year’s Eve menu was on the pricey side but well worth it. Delicious and filling! Extra thanks for the complimentary champagne; we’re totes engaged now!
The food is good but somehow the environment sets a better impression. It was good for a group gathering.
The ambience and outlay of the restaurant is superb. I so so badly wish I could say the same about the food. My cousin and I had decided to attend SMITH after our shopping escapades for the first time.
I had tried the soup of the day along with a bagel. My cousin had the SMITH burger and Caesar salad.
The presentation of my food was great. My cousins... Slopped together.
Soup of the day was so salty I could not even eat it (coming from someone who enjoys heavily broth-based soups), while the bagel was alright.
My cousin was misinformed regarding the up charge on her salad with no regard from the waitress. She had mentioned her burger was also very bland.
It's unfortunate because again, I have heard many good things from others. It is also quite possible that I had gone on an off day. Overall, not sure if I will be returning.
Great place to meet friends, open space with lots of room! Had the weekend bruch, some great menu choices available. Would come back
Amazing food and great service. Would recommend to anyone wanting a casual dining experience with really tasty food.
Food was great, service was great... a nice spot for a girls date
Food is always great. I like that they have a good selection of local beer! We have held a number of functions here and they have always been well executed.
Food was quite good. Coffee good as well (when I had some in my cup!). Service was lacking. I was served coffee quickly but my cup was done by the time the server came back to say she was bringing my friend's tea. Coffee refill took forever. Had to flag down another server but she forgot as she was busy doing other tasks. Finally our server came by (only 1 to our table after being served our meal). No salt and pepper either. Had to asked for that as when the one time server came back. By then meal 3/4 done.
We still enjoyed our meal but service very lacking. Too bad.
The Smith burger is fantastic, our server was wonderful and so friendly! Amazing!
I had the Reuben sandwich and it was not one of my favourites. The fries were very good and hot. It had so much butter in it was dripping down my arm when I was eating it. It also did not have enough or any Thousand Island dressing. Service was good but it did take a long time. My lunch friends had the lunch special and they enjoyed it. I will go back but will order something else.
Great experience dining here. The server was so attentive and knowledgable of the menu. Defini a great spot to visit again while in Winnipeg
Flavourful, unique menu options.
Service was good. The food was served right away. We loved the vibes of the restaurant. We tried the bone marrow and toast for our small plates, it was quite delicious. Perfect for a dinner for two or with group of friends!
Absolutely delicious food! We loved everything we ordered! Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent place with great food and service. Location is great and atmosphere is cozy and eclectic.
It was a great lunch we had at Smith. Most of us first time being there and we would definitely go back.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food. Amazing cocktails, local beer selection and mock tails too!
My chicken pot pie came out raw and runny! Super unappetizing! Server did a great job though!
Usually have a great visit, food is amazing as always. Not sure if they just had an off Sunday, but with our noon seating, we did not receive our meals until 1:00pm, which we thought was unusual for Smith.
I ordered the eggs Benedict, medium, but unfortunately the eggs were far less than medium. One of them not edible, it was still slimy. I didn’t complain, but the mess on the plate was very unappetizing. In addition to the eggs there was hash browns and a couple of pieces of fruit. No toast. I left hungry but it was my first visit. I will likely try again.
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here.
Food was looked and tasted fantastic and the dishes decently priced.
The area we were seated was nicely lit, not too bright and not too dark giving a romantic feel.
The service from waitress was very good.
This experience started out on the right foot. The chef prepared a combined charcuterie and cheese plate that was fantastic. Also the Caesar salad was really good. My wife ordered gnocchi which was excellent. I ordered the farro risotto which was not. I didn't know that farro was such a firm grain even when cooked, but this bordered on crunchy. I was told by my server that it is to be expected with farro. I don't make a habit of sending food back, but I did on this occasion. The server apologized and took it back. She offered to get me something else which I declined, so it was removed from the bill. Overall the service was good, the farro risotto should have had a better explanation on the menu or by the server. This place is really short on value; the items noted above plus two cocktails, two 6 oz glasses of wine and two espressos was $127 before tip, after the risotto removed from the bill. That's just too much for what we had. If we had stopped at the cheese/meat platter and a couple of cocktails I would be raving about this place.
a must try! the bone marrow was great as was the rabbit ravioli but the duck confit was fabulous olives were tasty chips and dip was delicious Arctic char was fab and Moscow mule is worth every penny
We reserved a table for two for our anniversary and the service was amazing! We were treated with champagne , it just made the overall experience one to remember. Our waitress was amazing and nice , the food is phenomenal! We love it here .
