Originally established in 1967, Smuggler's Inn has been serving Alberta prime rib to several generations. Always a popular place for Calgarians to gather and celebrate, we are the preferred dining choice for birthdays, anniversaries, milestones or just meeting friends and family. Our prime rib is the main feature of our diverse menu, available all day, every day any way you like it. From a 9oz. prime rib sandwich, all the way up to a 48oz cut, our succulent prime rib is sure to please any appetite. Cajun blackened is always a popular choice, as is adding a lobster tail or side of garlic shrimp. Of course there is a creative selection of steaks, chicken and seafood to satisfy everyone. With a soup and salad bar included with every entree, not many guests leave hungry, but it would be a great idea if you saved room for one of our delicious desserts...even if you plan on sharing.

The staff, Ryan, and all of the servers, and cooks, are an absolute pleasure. They treat me and my 5 year old so special. I have been coming here for brunch long before I had her, and will continue for years to come. Great food, great staff, great value......amazing.

Great place to eat. The only issue was the way our prime rib was cut. It was very uneven and messy looking on the plate, but tasted good!

Wow, incredible prime rib, peeve rlt cooked, tasted amazing. Loved the fact you can still have a soup / salad bar with an entree!

Had excellent service, and the ambience was soo intriguing. The old padlocks are so unique. Restaurant was quiet, could enjoy conversations with family. Price a little up there, but I have to say... Its actually worth it. Great dining experience

I love going to Sumgglers'Inn. The Prime Ribs is so succulent and the staff is so friendly. I also enjoyed couple of drinks and the discussion with the bartaider (Derek) I had at the Bistro prior my meal at Sumgglers. I will recommend this place to all my friends.

There were 9 of us plus an infant at the Sunday brunch on Nov 4. We have been to Smugglers before for family brunch and it has been lovely but we can’t say that about this visit. As usual, the staff were great but the food was certainly sub-standard for the price. Examples - bacon was not crispy - barely cooked and cold, the sausages were cold, apparently the eggs Benedict were good if you were lucky enough to get one - we were not but did try 3 times. The roast beef was not tender - something that we had grown to expect from previous visits. The salad bar was quite messy and could certainly have used a tidying up - most items were very dried out. As mentioned we have always been pleased with our visits in the past and will definitely try Sunday brunch again - everybody can have an off day - just too bad it cost us $235!

My boyfriend and I went here for his birthday. We enjoyed the romantic ambiance of the fireplace and low lighting. We were surprised by a birthday dessert for him at the end of our meal which really personalized our experience. Our entrees were amazing.

32 years ago, my husband and I went on our first date to Smugglers. Since that time, we have celebrated birthdays and anniversaries at the restaurant. We go to Smugglers at least 3 to 4 times per year. It is always amazing food, great ambience and lovely service. Smugglers serves the best prime rib in Alberta!

Your restaurant is always our first choice with families and friends. We love your salad bar to go with our entrées. Sunday brunch is the best in town. The staffs are friendly, like family. We started to go to your restaurant since the 80's and still going. Our children grew up dinning in your restaurant, and they bring their friends and clients to your restaurant. Keep up your good work. Thank you for your hospitality for all these years and years to come.

We had a fantastic evening at Smuggler’s Inn. Our server was patient, funny and very well informed. He gave ya several solid suggestions as well as a variety of options, so that every plate was exactly to our liking.
The soup and salad bar is prob one of the best in the city. I could have eaten from there all night.
But the prime rib is soooo fine, you need to move on.
Personally, I ordered the peppercorn crusted filet and it was exquisite!
A wide variety of desserts and specialty coffees wound up the night.
This place has been around forever because they do it right!
It’s prob been a couple years since we were here last. I won’t be waiting that long again!

I have been here 3 times in the last 6 months and the food was marginal. The prime rib was way under cooked and still bleeding on the plate. This happened all 3 times. The latest time I had a New York strip Steak which was over done and it was fresh from Costco....
I spoke to the hostest on the way out about the steak and the aging of the meat. The chef was there and he insisted that it was aged 28 days...I dont think so.
Salid bar wss great as usual and the soups delicious.
Come on guys...do a better job. Reduce some of then offerings on the menue and do a better jobs on the steaks.
Overall I spent $189.00 for 3 people and it was very poor value.

I tend to be biased since i have been coming here for years. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious and I have never been disappointed. Thats why I'm biased :-) The prices are great and the food always hits the spot...rihgt into the food coma.
Decor could be outdated but i dont really mind it at all. Go and see for yourself!
