This was our first time at SOBE. We wenr there for Brunch and had a really great experience there. They has a DJ playing good music. Our waiter Aaron, was very attentive and friendly. The only thi f we would complain about is the the Bellini's were served out of plastic flutes and there was no puree (it tasted like Asti Spunanti). The Mimosas were good and served in a glass flute. Other than that we lived the service and would definitely return.
Very very bad , waited over 30 minutes to get water , when it came I was given plastic cups, ordered drinks and they never came. Food came out way over a hour. Asked for soda and again was given plastic cups while every one else was served with glasses. I was so irritated that I ended my night early
The food was great but poor service is whey you get here and extremely high prices for drinks. Asked to speak with the manager and she disappeared and never addressed our concerns! I will never return
Very disappointed with that experience. I went to celebrate a birthday and indicated that during reservations. The host/manager sat us in a corner by the front door or a corner behind a wall where we couldn't see the band when there were better seats available. Then informed us that the seats we wanted were "booked" (I had a reservation also, so what does that mean?) However, no one was ever seated at that table during the 3 hours we were there. After we ordered our meal, we informed the waitress that we were going to get closer to the band so we could get that experience and dance, but when we returned our drinks were removed and table was cleaned off. We ordered more drinks that took so long I had to step outside for a mental break, I came back in and decided to order the drink from the bar myself and had the drink in approx. 2mins. Then the waitress tried to include an 18% service charge to the bill on a party of 2 after all that, I don't think so, I did give her a 12% tip because she was nice and the overall experience wasn't all her fault. Usually I have a good time here, however, I learned the hard way that they only cater to the lounge side of this restaurant and the host/manager will flat out lie instead of being accommodating to the patrons who are already there.
They need more people to wait and bar tend. Immediately
Reserved for 7:15 and got there at 7:30. We got in just as the band was setting up and there were just a few patrons sitting at the tables. The dining room was partitioned with standard dining on the room from the entrance and the bar area on the left—this area is right in front of the stage so if you wanted to see the band play, that’s where you want to be. You couldn’t see the band from where I sat but you could hear them so it was a decent trade off.
The food was pretty damn good although the menu items were limited. The service was mixed: at first it was fine around 7:30 - 8:15 and our food was received fast BUT for anyone who arrived after 8:30 it got extremely delayed. We didn’t know while we were dining but the other side and the outside area were PACKED. Unfortunately this is why the service became slow because they only had 4 servers attending to the patrons. It took us about another 30 to 45 minutes to get our check and I had to chase down our server.
All in all, I would go back there and try the bar area or maybe the hookah outside but hopefully they’ll have hired a few more serving staff for a busy Saturday night.
The music was too loud! Hard to converse while you’re eating and drinking.
I loved the location and it was decorated. It is a beautiful place to chill and catch up with friends and family. My chicken and French toast were delicious. I will definitely be back again for dinner or for one of their events.
Service terrible I’m still waiting on a refund we didn’t even get to sit we made reservations just for the restaurant to say it was no table available
To use a book analogy, this place has a great cover but the book stinks! If you want to go for hookah, shots and loud music, then this is your place. Don’t go looking for a fine dining experience. The food is fair but overpriced; the service is terrible, to include your waitress probably drinking while working; finally having the restaurant try to overcharge you! If you make a paid reservation, where the place charges you $20 per person, make sure you check your bill to ensure they credit it to your bill. I will never go here again and would never recommend it to anyone.
This was the worst service i’ve ever experienced in my life. Drinks and food took over two and a half hours to come and we waited one hour before we were acknowledged by the waitress & were given menus. The waitress was completely unprofessional. It was really bad service and I will never return nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone else.
Not welcoming at all! The service I received for my $600 bill was horrible. We made the best of the situation to celebrate a 40th birthday. But never will I ever spend MY money there!
Great atmosphere with great music. It appeared they were short staff because it took an hour to receive our food.
Wonderful experience and great food!!
Will never recommend anyone to go there on their birthday. The customer service was so BAD. My whole birthday was ruined… When we first got to the restaurant, My friend and I was just standing there forever, before one of them started talking to us.
She REFUSED to sit us at the Right side, where there was only one couple sitting or the Middle, where there was no one sitting . She wanted to sit us at the LEFT side.. where everyone is so close next to each other. No Social Distance Practice..Anyway, I end up leaving the restaurant with no food. Just a sad day for me..,
The brunch was perfect however it took us 35 minutes to get our sangria and an hour and a half for our 3 dishes! Unreal.
It was surprising that I had to "pay" $20.00 per person to confirm my reservation and that split checks were not allowed. That made payment awkward at the end since one of my guests did not come prepared with cash.
Our waitress while pleasant, would disappear for long periods of time. We actually had to make requests of other staff at least three times for her to come to our table and even then, it took her a while to get there. As I paid the check (again after waiting for quite some time), she never apologized or made any comments about her delays. That was very annoying and resulted in my giving less than 20% for her gratuity. That is something the restaurant needs to address with their staff.
Also, since they allow Hookahs on the patio, they should notify guests to ensure that they are not offended by the smell. Thankfully there was a nice breeze but we would have preferred to enjoy our meal without the smoke/smell.
I will go back if/when I am in the area, but for the prices and the ambience they try to create, they should work to provide a better experience for their guests.
Also, I noticed I did not get any points for my visit. Can that be addressed?
The service was amazing and the food was great, would go back for dinner and the entertainment they offer.
We arrived with a reservation but stood in line for about 10 minutes to be seated in an empty dining room. The hostess seemed very confused about what to do. The food was great but the service was slow. Our server was good but she seemed to beServing too many tables.
Terrible experience, slow service from beginning to end. Also they used to cater to a certain crowd, well dressed etc. That is no longer the case. Shorts, hats, cutoffs, sneakers at the dinner hour, not a good look. Service was HORRIBLE. And we were given plastic utensils.
Not sure why Sobe’s don’t allow folks in lounge area to watch band unless sitting at bar. Tables reserved from $100-$300 and most remain empty. Waste of space when folks could be spending money at high top tables enjoying entertainment
Greetings! The only problem I had with you guys was the seating. It took about 35 minutes to be seated when I attended there. I was trying my best to be patient but the young lady you guys had at the front did not know what to do to seat customers.
The food and drinks were great but the service was unacceptable. I had to hunt our waitress down for the check. They appear to be understaffed. The music extremely loud, so loud we had yell across the table to hear each other. It’s a beautiful place but a tweak here and there might convince me to return.
We went to Sobe for a double date and had one of the WORST dining experiences! Things started off great as the food is divine and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Then things went downhill.
Our server was clearly overloaded and while she was very polite, every time she came to our table she forgot something (bringing the wrong beer, forgetting limes, etc.) We ordered a hookah which we waited for for more than an hour, and a round of drinks which never came but somehow appeared on our bill. Our final bill included SEVEN drinks we did not consume.
While the sign on the front door stated that masks were required in the outdoor patio area if not seated there was a large group of gentlemen standing around on the patio unmasked, blocking entry and exit points, and getting rather rowdy.
When we finally had to seek out the manager Opal about our check and experience, she was unwilling to make any concessions to accommodate us. This is the first time in my dining life I have not added to the automatic gratuity applied when paying a tab. I can honestly say despite how good the food was we will NOT be back!
It was a beautiful place . Good food . Everyone was friendly went for my boyfriends birthday . I tad bit expensive but hey we had some good shots lol
We was the 2nd group to be seated but was the 5th table to get our order taken. I understand with the pandemic out if restaurant are short staffed. But a better system need to be put in place. WE did not complain to other tables because the noticed it to.
Great food, good vibes, nice service. My Mother enjoyed herself!
Had to pay $20 per person to secure a reservation. Then, give the server my credit card in order for her put my food order Finally, I waited 40 minutes, and had to go to the manager in order to get my check m, pay for my meal snd leave.
The food was amazing and the hookah experience was great. It was a little hot on the patio (doing hookah) but overall it was great!
My fiancee and I were there for the all-white party. We waited three hours for our food. The waiter was at the computer all night. None of our tables got their food on time. When we did get our food it was because we flagged down a bartender (I had to get a drink from there because our order was 3 hours late) who tracked down where our food was and brought it out to us. No apology from our waiter.
Next we waited 90 minutes for our check. After speaking to the manager twice and to a hostess who couldn't help us, we walked out. I plan on calling in to pay for our check but thats really sad that we had to do that. Need better organization
Although the wait staff was nice, there wasn’t enough enough present and our wait time was awful. Apparently the kitchen was backed up as well. After an hour of waiting for our order, we left without eating.
Calamari was great and wings are great! Ox tails—-nope. The cabbage was mushy. The portion is small in comparison to going to a hole in the wall and getting the same thing from Negril for $16.00. Didn’t have authentic flavor. Drinks are great for happy hour! Ambiance is nice but definitely overpriced.
Had an incredible Mother’s Day dinner. This place is great!
They didn’t honor our reservation. We traveled 1 hour and the restaurant was EMPTY and refused to seat us. They didn’t honor Open table reservations. I will never go again
Despite having a reservation set 35 minutes before our arrival, when we got there the hostess told us that the restaurant was closed and wouldn’t be taking any diners . They closed hours early because business was slow that day and she claimed she didn’t get our reservation until I pulled up the email and then miraculously it just so happened to show up in her system that very moment after I showed her the email. The time being spent driving to that restaurant could have been spent dining somewhere else had I known ahead of time that they were closing hours earlier than the time posted.
Made reservations took awhile to get a table and service. Food was excellent would return. It was cinco de Mayo so I am giving them a pass for the terrible service. Also the staff was very friendly and professional.
Made a reservation arrived on time, was promptly seated. There was obviously no dress code being enforced as the website listed.
We ordered appetizers and drinks along with water. Water arrived 30 mins later, server walked past us several times and seemed to have forgotten about us.
Drinks arrived still no appetizer ordered food. Food arrived 45 mins later with my order not there because they didn't have ingredients to make a vegetarian taco. Still no appetizer.
At this point myself and table decided we had enough and asked for the bill, the appetizer arrived with the bill.
Service has gone downhill from the last time I was there. There were apologies from anyone on the staff.
Service was poor. I intentionally support because it’s a black owned business and I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt. I even attempted to patronize them again after receiving the bad service. Submitted a reservation request for a party of 16 online, per their instructions, even followed up with a call. Reservation request was for June 19. I still haven’t received a response yet! Keep trying and praying I guess
I love Sobe's! Great food, great service, great atmosphere!
had 11 am reservations, the restaurant had only 4 tables seated but they are short staffed and the prices do not measure to the food.during this new plated brunch menu. It was a long wait for 1 glass of mimosa and i ordered coffee but it came out cold. We left due to the lack of service,
