    Worst service. The waitress was pleasant enough but we waited nearly 2 hours for our food. The sides were all sweet potato fries which wasn't what it said on the menu as the side for the entrees ordered. Duck nacho was very dry, burger was so dry it crumbled. Waitress said they had all new kitchen staff but the bartender said they had kitchen staff not show up. Not sure which is true.

    We have been to Socialight several times and I have to say that this time was the worst experience. We arrived early for happy hour and the bartender was a no show. So a waitress filled in and had no experience at all. She served us the most expensive wine which was a shock when the bill came. It was not on the happy hour menu which she was unable to locate. I was very disappointed to see that Steve, the owner saw that she was struggling and did not step in to help. He left for the day. When we were finally seated for dinner and ordered, it took 40 minutes to get our food. The food was completely cold. The fries, the meat, the whole meal. We brought this to the attention to the waitress and she brought us extra orders of warm fries. The waitress did keep apologizing as she knew that we were there to celebrate my Mother's Birthday. She offered to remove the appetizers from the bill. They were also cold. I'm not sure what was going on that day. The cooks were terrible, and the waitresses appeared to be new and inexperienced. But again, it was a disaster and I don't think that we will be returning. Our bill was close to 150.00 and was not worth a penny of it. Again, the fact that the owner walked out during this mess was very disappointing.

    We come here often for date nights and we're really surprised this time by the lack of professionalism and overall quality of the restaurant. There wasn't a host and the bartender was super random, didn't know the menu, wasn't very professional, etc. hopefully they can get back to their normal awesome selves!!

    We booked Socialight through Open Table, but unfortunately, our table was not ready. The hostess didn't have our reservation via the app, and it was a busy Saturday night that we were out to celebrate a birthday. She did her best to seat us, and she offered upstairs seating in a conference room style space so we could sit right away. The dining area has great ambience and energy, so we opted to wait as she guessed it would be another 15 minutes. We strolled through the Campbell area and popped into a retail store to kill time. When we returned 15 minutes later, no tables were available and there was some sort of argument/altercation between guests seated at the bar. The hostess apologized profusely, and about 40 minutes after our reservation, we were seated. The owner was engaging and chatted with us before, while we were waiting, and continued to check on us throughout the dinner. Unfortunately, the duck confit gnocchi was sold out, so I had to make a quick decision for a second choice. I decided on the halibut, or what one server referred to as the monkfish...so I'm not sure what the fish special was. Also, two of our meals, the filet steaks, weren't cooked to order, and one was noticeably cold and chewy. She didn't even finish the meal. Luckily, we ordered great starters, and the drinks are well worth the wait! The serving staff was attentive, although we had a mix of about 4 different people, so consistency would've been nice. We'll visit again, but call to confirm the reservation and probably only do apps and drinks. The people make it worth a second shot.

    In a nutshell, the food was great, but the service was EXTREMELY slow!!!!! There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and there were only three of us, so it shouldn't have taken that long to be served. At one point, there was no one behind the bar, and no servers on the floor. Annoying when I needed to ask a question.

    I had made reservations for Valentine's day, and we got seated 30 minutes after our reservation time. The hostess nearly seated a couple who had arrived after us, and had later reservations, had I not mentioned to her that we were still waiting. There was a limited menu for Valentine's day, and they accommodated my dietary restrictions (dairy free) by allowing me to order off the regular menu. My thai red curry Prawns were delivered to me completely plain and dry without any curry or sauce or explanation of why. Finally the waitress came by, and checked on this - apparently the curry sauce is made with cream - had this been explained earlier, I would have ordered something different. Our service was slow, and water glasses were never refilled. My boyfriend's steak was ordered rare, but arrived cooked medium, and was mostly fat. They had run out of two of the four entrees on the menu before 8 pm. And the only apology we received was that they were short staffed. I did get lentil soup on the house as a substitute for the lack of sauce on my shrimp. But overall, we were really disappointed with the food and service for the evening.

    Had been here before for dinner and drinks on an uncrowded day and it was pretty solid. Went here one other time and the service was incredibly slow. We decided to try it again for Valentine's day and we basically sat for 25-30 mins without any service. The waiter walked past multiple times ignoring us. We never even got a glass of water or so much as a look. Eventually we got up and left to a restaurant across the street that treated us like royalty. Night and day quality of experience. So dissapointed because the atmosphere is cool.

    Very disappointed with this restaurant after it had been recommended to me. On a Monday lunch hour there was one waitress in charge with the entire dining room. Not a very imaginative menu, don't think I'd return.

    Arrived for our 6:30 reservations, but it seems the waiter had no idea where to seat us even though there were several tables available. Not many seating options available to begin with, few booths and one long stretch of 2 person tables that can be pushed together or separated depending on your group size, ours was 2. Once seated, we were greeted by 4 different people asking if we would like to order drinks. Drinks came almost 30mins after the first person took our order. Again, at this time it really wasn't that busy at all. While waiting for our drinks, we flagged down one of the 4 servers to order appetizers, but when our drink finally came, we asked about our order and our server had no idea we ordered anything. One hour into our date and we had empty drink glasses and no appetizers. Finally appetizers arrived 5mins before our main meal. We both ordered the Ribeye, medium rare with side order of potatoes. Her steak arrived cooked slightly over medium and mine arrived well done. Besides the obvious our steaks not being prepared as we requested, both steaks were sliced up and presented this way, which you can immediately tell they were not to order, but still sent out that way. Why would anyone slice up a ribeye before it's served??? I've never seen this done before. At this point we are roughly 1hr and 20mins into the date, the manager comes over and gives us the excuse that one of his chefs called out and the current chef is not that good. He did but us a round of drinks, but honestly, I let it go and asked for another one to be prepared. It still took almost 40mins to receive my meal. Once my steak arrived, it was prepared as I requested, however, there was not seasoned at all. Really bland flavor for such a great cut of meat. We could see other patrons were having the same issue as us and given the excuses the manager kept giving, it didn't seem he was organizing the staff to compensate for the short comings of anyone's poor service. Definitely not again.

    Great food but... We waited for 10 minutes before someone even addressed us at the front door. After sitting down and waiting, again, for the server to take drink orders, the rest of the night went smooth and the food was amaze-balls. I had the southern fried chicken and it just fell off the bone. Delicious! Go for the food, suffer through the service. Or not.

    I was beyond delighted with the food, service, and ambiance at this restaurant. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was hands down the best I've ever tasted. Everyone in our party was so pleased with their brunch - cannot wait to go back!

    My friend and I loved the lamb sliders. The eggplant was undercooked and hard to eat. The salad we had with Asian pears and nuts was delicious. Would go back, just will skip the eggplant.

    Great little place with high ceilings and tall wine racks. Cool, comfortable and friendly. Feels good in there, right off the street. The menu is interesting though easy going. A perfect fit style wise and spirit as the city of Campbell downtown itself. A touch old school, relaxed, neat, stress free. I'd recommend easily!

    Possibly the worst experience at a restaurant that I have had in San Jose area. Out of 8 orders 7 were wrong.. the food came all at different times.. some people's fries arrived before their main meal and then their main meal was actually forgotten. And then on top of it all the owner was very patronizing and just wanted to offer us drinks. I would not recommend this at all to anyone

    Good- 1) Good wine list 2) Food is good (priced a little high) 3) Friendly staff Bad- 1) Service is still lacking; orders do not come out quickly from the kitchen and sometimes the wrong items come 2) No cocktail menu; Just recently got hard alcohol but has no set cocktail menu Overall I enjoy coming here and want them to succeed but there are a lot of areas that management still needs work on. Hopefully they will stay in business long enough to fix the low hanging issues that should be easy to resolve.

    We went to the Socialight for New Year's Eve dinner. We had reservations and still had to wait 1/2 hour. There was room at the bar, and the bartender was great. The beer selection was very good and the bartender made some great mixed drinks. After we were seated, the service got much worse: food came out in shifts, water glasses never refilled, had to order a round of drinks twice since the first time was lost, bread that went with one dish was brought to the table after we finished eating, etc. The food was all good, so hopefully this was just a holiday shortage of help.

    Confirmed reservation by Open Table was not honored by the restaurant. There were 4-5 empty tables when we arrived but after the hostess checked with a manager, we were told we would wait for 30 minutes. The reservation was available, booked and confirmed within 30-45 minutes of reservation time, so fact that they were on a 30 minute wait for reservations, after driving across town, was a poor experience. We won't be going back.

    Our wine selection wasn't available so the waiter brought a different one. Our waiter wasn't familiar with the Specials and gave us the wrong menu items. My wife had a steak that was tougher than leather with no taste to it. I had the African meat plate that was overly sweet and it didn't have aNY flavor at all. The dessert menu was very sparse and we ended up.have gellato. The best part was getting to leave the restaurant after paying such a large bill. NEVER AGAIN!!!

    We were celebrating a bday for party of 8. We were placed upstairs in a conference room far from the main dinning. When confirming the reservation no one informed about this being a separated room. The main reason for choosing this restaurant was its ambiance which we did not get being stuck in a isolated room. Will not go there again.

    S. Fried chicken was moist and tender. But the mashed potatoes bland. They were out of eggplant for the eggplant tower. Waited 45 minutes to get our dinner. The bar looks cluttered and need some items removed to provide a more relaxing visit.

    It was busy - granted a holiday street fair was going on, and it was a busy Saturday evening, but the management should have expected it. I got a very mediocre $17 burger that was cold and the bun was mushy after an hour wait. My wife got the Gnocchi, and she sent it back because it was cold. They tried to accommodate, and comped us for some items, but this price level, overall it was sub-par.

    The restaurant could not find our reservations even though clearly indicated through open table. Food was delivered cold, waiter ignored us, did not know the specials of the evening. Over priced...no wonder the place sits empty most of the time.

    We had the most wonderful server. We met Kenny at an off moment. We did not know that the roads would be closed for an event in Campbell that evening and we had to walk a mile and were late for our reservations. Then we learned that dinner did not start until 5PM. I was near tears. We had a 6PM concert and we were very hungry and frustrated. Kenny was so accommodating and kind. He made sure we had happy hour drinks and helped us pick items that were more of a meal than happy hour finger foods. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere is beautiful and once again.....you must ask for Kenny when you dine. He is the best waiter that we have ever had!!

    Really just horrible. The Octopus appetizer was chewy. Well prepared octopus should melt in your mouth. The ink paste was cold and almost like drying paint on the plate. Our main dishes were mediocre at best. My trout was completely bland. No flavor at all. The potatoes were cold and basically tasteless home fries. We had a steak that was tough and a pasta bolognese was dry and seemed to be missing a key ingredient. Worst off, the food is VERY expensive.

    It was not very busy the night we went. Bar area was full. Dining area had some open spots. Service was slower than expected since it didn't look busy. But food was GREAT! I was able to hold a conversation. Nice variety on the menu. I plan to return.

    The evening started with my being given a menu missing the dinner page. The interval between salad, entree, and dessert was inordinately long, especially with a half-empty restaurant. They were out of spaghetti and french fries (not that we ordered them together). The lamb sliders looked attractive but the meat was not cooked properly and the center was raw. My Argentine steak was lukewarm, and the pureed potatoes cold. Despite being sent back to the kitchen, they were returned just as cold. Not a good experience for any of the four in my party.

    Made my reservation on-line for a business meeting. Showed up and restaurant was closed. Like this restaurant but concerned they are not doing well. Service is down and to make a reservation, show up and find that they are closed is crazy! Usually a great atmosphere and Restaurant but this particular visit didn't work out. I will try them again but hoping they are doing ok.

    I've been here many times and really enjoy the place. They have great food and good staff. I've never had an issue. They have amazing wines and good oysters. Ask the waiter about their most popular dishes.

    Glad we were seated in a booth, the noise level was a bit high and it would have been worse if seated in the middle of the room. The wine list is great, and all diners in our party liked their entree and would go again. Looking to check out the happy hour.
