Solé Restaurant and Wine Bar is situated in a 150 year old Seagram’s building, minutes west of the Waterloo Uptown Core. The interior soars two stories high to a timber frame ceiling, exposed brick and generous wood finishes, set the tone for an elegant yet casual experience.

The menu will transport your palate to the Mediterranean. Items ranging from thin crust pizza, pastas, vegetarian entrees, steaks, and seafood will satisfy any appetite.     Have been to Sole many times but the food was very disappointing. Salad was mainly greens and not much less. Entrees were very small. One was so disappointing that the server took it off the bill. Server was wonderful - attentive, experienced and knowledgeable.

    Overpriced for the quality of food. Ok pizza and the sweet potato lasagna was ok. I’ve had much better of both for a lot less.

    We ordered lasagna and schnitzel. The schnitzel was fairly good size portion. The lasagna portion was small and wish it was larger portion for what they served. If they could increase the portion size it would be good. Both dishes were delicious.

    We had brunch here on Victoria Day. The restaurant was very quiet with just a few other patrons. Our brunch was great. Our server was fabulous. Great service all round.

    Sunday roast prime rib was suberb, as was the Shiraz wine. Background music was very muted so could talk to partner without raising voice. Excellent experience.

    Always a delight to dine here. The caesar salad is old school -- no clever tricks, just the real deal. Our entrees were done to perfection: roasted chicken and braised beef short ribs. Again, nothing too complicated, no thick sauces that overwhelm the food. For dessert we shared the truffle cake which was decadent and delicious! At Sole, presentation matters, both on the plate and by the wait staff. First class all the way.

    We fully enjoyed our dining experience. I hadn’t been back to Solé for at least five or six years. It was great to see that the place hadn’t changed, making it a comfortably familiar setting. Great food and wine! Thank you.

    There were 3 in our group, one ordered calamari appetizer which was so so not exceptional, one ordered the rigatoni which at best was lukewarm, kale/pear salad was excellent would order again, others order crab cakes and warm salad which were fine, pizza which was ok
