This was an excellent place to bring friends from out of town. Fancy enough to ensure good food but not so fancy as to break the bank. It was nice comforting flavourful food with solid service.

Edmonton is no longer my home but there is comfrort and joy in "going home" to Sorrentino's Downtown. On this recent visit I erred in doing my OpenTable res. and cause some confusion. Sorrentino's Master Greeter and Gracious Host Michaelwas patient and understanding. The food, the service, the wine list and the general ambiance were all at their high standards. Thank you . Wednesday night spectacular- Garlicfest fundraiser for charity is always fantastic. Have a wonderful drink and appetizer before fresh pasta meal. Brought 15 guests back on Thursday and severely disappointing as almost everyone’s food came out cold. Waiter wasn’t seen for almost 10 minutes after he dropped off everyone’s food. Had to go and seek out pepper grinder on my own. Restaurant was almost completely empty. Not impressed. Ah well.

This Sorrentino's location is their flagship for a reason. Elevated service, delicious food, and a wonderful ambiance. I LOVE the maître d'! He is the cherry on top of the whole experience. Go there for the food, and enjoy the the whole experience. And if you can, get there during their garlic fest. OMG, black garlic is TO DIE FOR.

Saturday was our first time at the downtown Sorrentino's. Had requested a quiet table with comfortable seating, and we enjoyed the small booth. Dining at 5:30 pm "beats the rush" and ensures fast service and less hustle in the main dining room. Staff were very courteous and attentive; the food was exactly what we had ordered, and it came hot to the table. It's such a "golden nugget" to have just a three minute walk from the Winspear, which was next on our activities for that evening. A great start to a memorable 45th wedding anniversary!

Stopped in at Sorrentino's downtown with a friend on Saturday night to try the garlic festival menu. It's my first time at the garlic festival used to be one of my mothers favourite celebrations. I can see why she enjoyed it I've never seen such a garlic infused menu or enjoyed the celebration of a single ingredient is quite so much as this. The dishes all incorporate garlic in creative and flavorful ways, without overpowering the other ingredients. The Garlic Chowder and Garlic Beet Salad were both standout dishes, with the garlic adding a unique twist to classic recipes. The Garlic Ricotta Gnocchi and Garlic Salmon Roll were delicious and well-executed, with the garlic flavor complementing the other ingredients perfectly. Not only were the dishes flavorful, but they were also beautifully presented, making for a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. The Garlic Old Fashioned and Garlic Gin Cocktail were unique and inventive drinks that incorporated garlic in unexpected ways. Sorrentino's Garlic Festival is a great celebration of this ingredient, and the restaurant did an excellent job showcasing its many uses. The atmosphere was lively and festive, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a celebration of all things garlic.

It was a busy early evening with lots of happy Oiler fans having a pregame dinner. Servers were literally trotting to keep up with it all, but they did very well given the situation. The salmon was cooked perfectly, which isn't always the case in some restaurants. Yum.
