Sotto Voce Wine & Pasta Bar
Always a wonderful experience. Great food and staff. My favorite when I am in Toronto
The food and service were top notch no complaints and I think would go back, the outdoor patio was a bit noisy and not most comfortable but ok. Inside just too noisy for a nice dinner and reason for picking outside.
Overall good experience
We have been for a few meals definitely a cut above in food and service. Definitely try it out.
What a lovely group of people working the evening I was dining!
Both my companion & I thoroughly enjoyed our menu choices & would return in a heartbeat!
Delicious food, great service and really went above and beyond to accommodate us! Thanks for a great evening!
This little gem has been a consistent piece of heaven for years.... always recommend it to anyone in the city that seeks authenticity. Love.
Great spot and staff are fantastic- we will go again - thank you!
Horribly slow service, main dishes arrived 1.15 hrs after order was processed. Extremely rude manager and entitled server. Mediocre food for dishes that did arrive. Hands down, worst serviced restaurant in Toronto. Will not be returning, would highly NOT recommend.
It's unfortunate that I am leaving such a review as I was looking forward to dining here. I used to live in the neighbourhood and passed by this restaurant frequently. It wasn't the fact that the food arrived so late (the food that did arrive), accommodations could've been made accordingly. What was most insulting was the manager who attempted to put me in my place by telling me "actually" my order was inputted less than an hour ago. What the manager failed to realize was that actually it was an hour post order when she said that, and she also failed to acknowledge that we were waiting to even INPUT our order. We had to flag down the waitress to place our orders. The consistent excuse given was "the restaurant is small" - I've been to smaller restaurants with better and quicker service. This is unacceptable and I can see why they've downsized in space over the years.
Lovely little place, with a nice selection of dishes on the menu. The food was delicious and presented appetizingly, from the Tres Medi and meatball appetizers to the creamy Risotto & also branzini dish.
Service was fantastic, we had a nice comfy spot on the patio. We found the prices were very reasonable and of great value compared to the many nice dining places in downtown Toronto. Look forward to returning!
Staff were amazingly intuitive and accommodating. Felt like we were guests in someone's home. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was warm and friendly.
The food and service was great, and I have already recommended it. VERY friendly and almost family-like atmosphere with the staff. I loved the hostess! She looked very put together which impressed me a great deal. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in Toronto. My only issue was that the music was too loud.
I would only recommend to eat at this restaurant when patio is open.
The smoke from the open kitchen fills the restaurant making dining a very unpleasant experience not to mention hair and clothes reeking of cooking smells! Too bad because the food was very good.
Better ventilation is needed!
Yes, already did on Trip Advisor. This was an excellent choice.
Place was Smokey from kitchen and clothes smelled after of grease
Food has great flavour, nice variety of dishes. Great selection of drinks.
Always a great experience - Sotto Voce never disappoints! Food is great, service is excellent and ambiance is really good. Don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience here!
Fantastic experience, food was amazing and the people were friendly.
Great wine list, delicious food and a good variety at a very reasonable price point.
Excellent food, excellent service, good value and the music was great too.
Only complaint was its a bit small and we were sat by the door so people were always standing over our table, but the food and ambience more than made up for it. Will definitely be back!
Amazing service and food! Definitely recommend
I recommended to a friend that we go to Sotto Voce as I had been a couple months ago after many years of not going and the food and service were both great. However, this past visit was NOT the same. After reserving a table, we were given the table directly inside the door & wind curtain, which the owner . manager assured us we would be grateful for as it was so hot inside......this was NOT at all true. We were freezing and were ready to leave if we had not been offered another table after asking a couple times. When the owner / manager saw that our server had accommodated us with a new table, she was not pleased and that was obvious. Our server did her best but it seemed very obvious that it is a stressful place to work on a busy night. Our food was 100% average which made the evening that much more disappointing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Sotto Voce; The staff and owner were so helpful in assisting us to choose our meal; they were extremely attentive and friendly. Our appetizers were very interesting , consisting of a wonderful variety of flavors. My husband loved the grilled octopus salad and my "Pesce" (Italian sea bass) was light, delicate and grilled to perfection. The dishes are very well priced and are prepared with care and imagination. The desserts, while not made on site are some of the most delicious tortes and cakes we have tasted. We will be back !
Thank you so much, we loved meeting you both and look forward to seeing you both again soon! Anita
As soon as we got inside we were greeted, sat and had our coats put away. Here was always someone checking in on us and our food came fairly quickly. The two dishes we ordered and our app was so tasty! We loved it so much I wish there was more in our bowls! This cozy, dimly lit place gave off a sexy vibe that could only make you smile. Highly recommended.
Thank you so much! We loved having you, hope to see you soon next date night!
Anita the owner was very welcoming and very involved with a hands on approach. This speaks to the success of this charming restaurant.
The food and service are always good there. They have a good wine list and in the summer a lovely little patio in a great location.
This was our first visit and it won’t be our last! The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations and the food was quite good. Overall, this was a great experience.
Birthday. I surprise him with something new every year. Another hit!
Great food. Great service. Great prizes. And the desserts were to die for
Great little Italian place with a fabulous proprietor who made us feel welcome, had great recommendations, and altered menu items to accommodate tastes. Tremendous cocktails, and the food was outstanding. She told us how she writes the menu to keep both sides of the small kitchen working. Will be back when next in Toronto!
An all time favourite place for 20 years
Somehow manages to be hip and sophisticated and casual and upscale all at the same time.
The service and food was en pointe and the team went above and beyond to make sure our group dinner was perfect. We will definitely be booking future events there!
Excellent and cozy restaurant in Little Italy in Toronto. The restaurant has a cute outdoor patio and fireplace. The staff was great, they kept checking up on us, gave us a complimentary dessert due to noise level that didnt bother us at all. The appetizers were delicious and the mushroom risotto with truffle oil was mouthwatering. The stuffed ravioli with butternut squash and pecans was rich and perfect. The restaurant has a cute seating bar area which a variety list of wines. I would definitely go back or highly recommend this beautiful gem.
They were very pushy on bringing the bill after we finished eating. I understand they want to attend more customers, but they went all over to make us feel uncomfortable and wanting to leave. Aside from it, food was great and I liked the place.
Wonderful staff, great food
Great place to eat. Food tasty , wine excellent . But the noise level was way too high. Not possible to talk normally. On top off the choice of music was not really what you expect in an Italian resto called ‘Soto voce’
Great spot in Little Italy, highly recommended for a night out.
Thank you for a delicious and enjoyable evening. Friendly atmosphere, caring staff, great for an evening with friends.
Food was good. I had fish and others in party had pasta dishes. Chocolate cake was delicious. We sat outside and thank goodness. It was too loud inside.
The service was excellent and the food fantastic. Good value for being in the heart of little Italy.
The Bogel Chardonnay is an excellent addition to the wine list.
