This was my first visit to this space as this restaurant, but it’s always been one of the most interesting spaces, and now is no exception. Lots of unique seating options, only downside is the noise level in the cavernous environment.
Our server, Charles, was extremely knowledgeable and attentive, he helped make our special occasion even more special.
Wine by the glass selection is a bit small, and although we have a large cellar at home we still didn’t recognize much on their list, but we found an excellent bottle from the full list.
As a vegan the menu options appeared slim at first glance, but Charles assured us the kitchen could work with me, and they did. I did not leave hungry.
Service and food were great! Per our server’s recommendations, we had the Poached Alaskan Halibut, the Agnolotti, the summer squash salad, crispy punched potatoes, smoked mushrooms, chocolate tiramisu tart, and foggy pudding cake, and they were all incredible. Two days later I’m still dreaming of it all!
What an awesome spot! Great food, great service, parking is easy- I’ll be back !
Our latest visit to St. Cecelia confirmed my earlier opinion that it is one of the best restaurants in Atlanta and our last visit was an anomaly. The meal and service were fantastic.
Let’s start with the space, one of the prettiest around, with 25-foot ceilings, romantic lighting, banquettes, tables and a private room on the second floor. You can choose from two dining areas, either near or away from the bar and open kitchen.
We started the meal with a Large Salumi and Cheese platter, which included Prosciutto di San Danielle, Cacciatorini and Calabrese meats, plus Manchego and Thomasville Tomme cheeses. Included on the platter were honeycomb, fig mostarda, and gnocco fritto. The large was true to its name with three piles of meats and enough cheese segments to pair with the meats. The cured meats ranged from the mild prosciutto to the spicy calabrese and addind a bit of the honeycomb created a delightful sweet-spicy combination. I would have liked little more honeycomb, it was really good.
We followed the meats with the Burrata, served with strawberries, atop crumbled pistachios and two thin slices of sourdough bread. While the meat-cheese platter was abundant, the burrata dish was scant. It was more the burrata was one of three components versus the center-staged star. The three items together created a wonderful flavor-texture delight.
For my entrée I ordered the Squid Ink Mafaldini with Calabrian chilies, charred calamari, clams, and shrimp. Mafaldini is best described as the curly edges of the lasagna noodle. The dish was delicious and the amount of seafood was focused on the calamari and shrimp with a few clams added, which I was fine with. The pasta did have a bit of a zip to it from the chilies, which I really enjoyed.
My wife ordered the Spaghetti Grosso, a simple pasta with San Marzano tomatoes, basil, and smoked ricotta salata. While the pasta was great and the sauce rich in flavor, it was a little on the salty side.
For side dishes we enjoyed
Very nice meal. A couple of our dishes were better than a couple others, but most was very good. It’s a beautiful room as long as you don’t mind a little noise.
Wow! What a wonderful experience. Beautiful restaurant with outstanding service and the meal was outstanding!!!
Wonderful pasta ... Bucatini was amazing!!!!
Also the pork looked great too
Food was very good and I would definitely go back. Much better than most restaurants. Actual cooking with quality ingredients and technique produces food like this, and St. Cecilia has figured it out.
Great place for a special occasion. The service was excellent and the food was creative and delectable. We enjoyed ourselves. Only issue is that some of the tables in the back are a little too close together and puts a little damper on a romantic evening.
Chip chicken salad was ok. I’d recommend a lemon vinaigrette as the current dressing fell a little flat and under seasoned.
Meat and cheese platter was good although I’d switch to a simple sliced sour dough or French bread. The fried bread is greasy and overwhelming. It simply takes away from the experience of a clean meat and cheese presentation.
Braised short rib pasta was delicious as always. Definitely a shining star on your current menu.
Casey was great!!
Ford Frye never disappoints. The short rib agnolotti is one of the best dishes in town. Highly recommend.!
One of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta! Chef Brandon Chavannes is amazing and it shows in every bite. Service, as usual was impeccable. Our server, Omar, was incredibly kind and knowledgeable and made our night perfect. In addition to that, the manager Lamont made several stops at our table to make sure our experience never lacked a thing. My Mom truly felt special from start to finish. Would definitely recommend to everyone!
Overall the experience continues to be very good but service from the kitchen was glitchy, bringing down the overall experience. Perplexing delays on cocktail service (compounded by missing garnishes), entree delivered prior to the salad course as requested and then mixup on the salads themselves.
I loved my experience dining at St. Ceilia. The food was very fresh and delicious, and I am looking forward to eat at St. Ceilia again. The server was very kind and helpful with our orders, and the overall mood of the restaurant made my experience more memorable. Thank you!
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience at St. Cecilia. We dined at 8:30 on Friday evening and everything was perfect.
We started with Oysters on the half shell with their homemade mignonette and fresh lemon, just wonderful. We then moved to sharing the Charred Octopus , on the recommendation of our waitress Meghan, and it was crazy good. The BEST preparation of Octopus I have ever had. Props to Meghan for making the recommendation. We finished with the Agnolotti which were wonderful.
We had some sweets for desert that also hit the mark.
All of the plates were shared and the portions were very generous.
It was our first time at St. Cecilia, we’ll definitely be back. If you haven’t been there yet, you must try it.
Foods was VERY salty and my fish was dry. The steak was undercooked and chewy. Service person was great.
we have few restaurants we go to multiple times, but St. C. is one. Dependable for special friends and special occasions
Amazing food, fantastic service - would highly recommend! A group of six of us and all loved all their choices!
The receptionist was absolutely lovely and helping direct me to the restaurant as my GPS had me going in a slightly different eruption.from the moment we walked in to the mountain we left the service was impeccable The food was delicious. Definitely get dessert it's a treat
St. Cecilia is great on all the levels. Service is attentive but not obtrusive. Food is always delicious. The drinks are excellent. Their pastas are made fresh every morning and the seafood is fresh. Portions are respectable and leave you feeling satisfied, not stuffed. Great place for a special occasion!
I had a wonderful brunch experience! The food was fresh and amazing and our service was beyond special. Megan Weiss was the best server and she was very knowledgeable of the menu. I can’t wait to dine again.
Dined outside. Pasta for everyone. Lovely family dinner out.
My only “complaint,” if you will, is there aren’t many great appetizer options, if you don’t like raw fish. We had delicious pasta, but I also wish there had been more pasta choices. Cocktail was good. Service was good. Vibe was nice.
Bread needs to be edible; not to overbaked or hard.
Excellent restaurant for friends and or date night. We have visited several times each times ordering the octopus appetizer, good wine selections and main course. Looking forward to returning
prettiest restaurant in Atlanta, best food just wonderful
We had our anniversary dinner and the service and food was incredible. We took our time, wasn’t rushed and finished with a great dessert.
Excellent. Everyone was sore nice. Food was great. A favorite spot!!!
It was for a birthday lunch and no mention of the Birthday was uttered by the staff or server. The server seemed a little irritated but the food was phenomenal and the wait time was not long at all. The atmosphere was amazing. I’d go again but I wouldn’t want the same server and maybe try the dinner menu the next time.
While visiting a friend in Atlanta, I asked a total stranger for a restaurant recommendation and she said St. Cecilia! It was excellent!
I love this place more and more each time I go. The food is prepared with such thought and is so delicious. The wait staff is knowledgeable, super friendly and some of the best in ATLANTA. Can’t wait to return!
Met friends for drinks / dinner on our first visit. Everything was excellent - great waitress, excellent drinks, everybody loved the octopus appetizer and their entrees. Will definitely return. Highly recommended.
We go to St Cecilia a lot an we love it. They truly care about you having a good dinning experience. This time, we had a terrible waiter, Charles, and things were turning in the wrong direction but the manager
Mary Kate saved the day - she switched waiters and between Ray and Casey, which are both amazing, we had the best experience ever. Food was great -tender leaves in our green salad, Caccio.Peppe with grilled fish and the chocolate hazelnut ice cream. Thanks Mary Kate and team for a great dinning experience!
Great service. Love the ambiance. Food - amazing!
Very nice...loved the build out... restaurant was beautiful. Food was great service was great
Absolutely love St Cecelia’s. Ford Fry does a great job and the service is fantastic (Alex, you rock!). It can be pricey if you do it up right, but that’s kind of the point. If we have to pick one special place in Atlanta, this is usually it.
