Always a great meal!
We went to Stanford Grill to celebrate my mother's 76th birthday. This was a repeat visit. We love the warm atmosphere, the live music, the service and the quality and taste of the menu options. They acknowledged mom's birthday with a dessert of her choice. The team approach to service never left us looking for assistance. I highly recommend Stanford Grill. The location is easy to get to from Baltimore, Silver Spring and DC. Plenty of parking too. Try them ou!
We went to Stanford as a special place before my son returned to college. The ambiance, food and service were wonderful.
Always a great meal at this hidden gem! We have 4 very different family taste palettes and Stanford Grill has something each of us always finds to love.
I received a gift card and my husband and I decided to have dinner last Saturday night. The waitress (Nancy) was outstanding and the food was good (although my medium rare prime rib came out very rare). The wine list was great. The only complaint I really have is that the noise level was horrible. Besides the fact that it was noisy to begin with, they had a 3 piece band. When they were playing, you could barely talk to the person sitting next to you. I think on a Saturday night, when it's probably most crowded, they could do away with the band.
Everything was delicious! At our table we had prime rib, their rotisserie chicken, and the surf and turf special (shrimp and sirloin steak) Couldn't have been better. Can't wait to go there again.
My reservation requested a white tablecloth table handicapped accessible and instead of the main dining room were seated as a sole table in the large empty sunroom that is normally reserved for parties. I felt as if we were in overflow parking.
Our waitress was inexperienced and forgot about an appetizer way after others received their salad. Even though the reservation specified one guest was lactose free, the waitress was unable to suggest any options, that every sauce was made with butter or cream. When I asked about having a vegetable, those were also made with butter and cream. I had her ask the chef, and they specified every vegetable or stir fry was finished with butter, or apportioned for another dish. I ended up selecting the grilled swordfish which had no seasoning or even a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. For a vegetable I selected tabouleh salad. I did not check if I was charged an extra side price.
The double pork chop for my Mom was so massive we requested that it be taken to the kitchen to be carved. A woman came to carve it at table side but my husband noted that even she struggled with cutting it giving the impression it would be very difficult to chew.
At seating, a guess requested bread for the table; instead of a lovely warm basket of bread, an oversized roll was brought on an undersized plate with a knife, after several inquiries. The bread tasted like cardboard heated in the microwave. It was replaced.
Dessert was described with great fanfare but were box cakes - both the pineapple upside down cake and the massive brownie. The best part of the brownie desert was a homemade caramel sauce that is made without butter or cream.
Everything was great, large proportions, awesome service.
Josh and Patrick were very helpful! The rack of ribs here is quite amazing.
It was simply perfect although a bit loud
Excellent service! Our waiter was clearly busy with a full section, but he did make a point to check on us multiple times, resolve a drink issue and make us feel well taken care of. This restaurant is always great with my daughter's food allergies.
We had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday. Sushi was outstanding, on par with what I get in Hawaii for fresh and authentic. The ribs were fantastic as was the steak salad.
The wait staff was very good and only could have been better if the place wasn't so busy. Ha Ha!!
We recently dined for our 7 year wedding anniversary dinner. It was a Monday night but the place was packed. I'm so glad we made reservations! We had a very large party seated behind us and on several occasions the wait staff would crowd the aisle right next to us either attending to the party or talking amongst themselves. This was kind of annoying, but didn't affect our overall experience. We've eaten at Stanford many times and the food doesn't disappoint. It's not a large menu so we've tried almost everything at some point and we have yet to find a dish that we weren't pleased with. Being a native Marylander, I'm picky about crabcakes but theirs are phenomenal! Since it was our anniversary they gave us a free dessert which I thought was a nice touch.
Accommodated 4 adults and baby in a high chair nicely. We always enjoy the brunch selections. It is a good value and food is plentiful. Always recommend: the eggs Benedict options, chicken salad and cloak/ dagger sandwich. This time the crab scramble was light on crab but usually it is more generous. We will return. Waiter Mark was pleasant and efficient.
Waiter helpful in customizing our meals to suit. Made our dining experience very enjoyable. Ready to return s couple.
Meeting up with friends and had a great meal with excellent service.
Really great food. All six of us loved our choices.
Dining outdoors was a pleasure-good food good service and a quiet ambience.
Food and service were exceptional.
The food and service at this restaurant are consistently outstanding. The portions are generous, and the servers are very well trained.
Delicious food selections, lovely presentation, and courteous service.
The food, service, and atmosphere are excellent, however the noise level is extremely high making conversation difficult.
Lisa our waitress was phenomenal! She really knew her stuff and was very friendly and personable. I loved the fact that when I had an issue with the food she happily removed it and gave me something else I wanted. She was very sweet and understanding. I just came from a doc visit and had a bracelet she didn’t pry and ask but she politely asked if I had allergies I advised her I will if something I want happens to have so it can be adjusted accordingly. I’ve been here several times and I will happily come back again and also ask for Lisa as my server! She’s new at this location but she has years under her belt and you can see she really does value customer service! She needs a raise lol 👍🏾
Watson was great. He made us feel welcome and was very personable.
Nice convenient place in between DC and baltimore to get together with friends.
As always the food and mood were great. We enjoyed dinner with friends who had never been before. My only complaint was the long hair I found on my dinner plate. My waiter and the manager came out and apologized profusely. My entree was removed from our check as well. I was appreciative of their quick resolution of this issue.
Favorite dessert (chocolate uprising) was not available and requested server was not available, but we still enjoyed a wonderful meal and great service. The restaurant was a little loud and therefore it was hard to have a conversation with our guests.
Limited standard menu with many specials. Great food and service.
I visited this restaurant for an early dinner. I had a reservation and was seated immediately. The restaurant is elegant and most patrons were wearing business casual attire. I requested two high chairs for my toddlers when I made the reservation, but we were seated in a booth and no high chairs were offered.
I don't think this restaurant really caters to kids, as mine were the only ones there. There was also no kids menu available for one to see, but there is a secret kids menu that our server told us about.
All of the dishes that we ordered were cooked to perfection and the dishes were large portions. The service was impeccable and the food came out fast. I paid via the Open Table app, which was really convenient.
They had a wonderful time and no worries about checking with reservations. Especially since I created it for my mother.
I can see why they have such a lunch rush. The place is gorgeous, the service was great and the food was outstanding. We had a hard time choosing from the menu - such great selections. Can't wait to go back .
Our server was Farad (I think) and he was very nice and personable.
Food is always excellent and everything else too. They have excellent servers there. Always good specials. Nice place to plan a celebration of any kind and they have a very nice room separate from restaurant.
We always enjoy dining at Stanford Grill! The food is always well-prepared. Today, a few things were off. It was a rainy and dismal day and it appeared to me there were many new people on staff. The service was still excellent.
We had calamari for an appetizer, chicken pot pie and Danish ribs. Everything tasted good. We forced ourselves NOT to order the "Chocolate Uprising" (our very favorite splurge) for dessert, so we skipped it altogether.
Stanford Grill has always been one of our "most favorite places to dine". You can always depend on them to do everything right! We will return...also with friends and will recommend Stanford Grill to everyone. Unless you are eating in an off-hour, reservations are highly recommended. They fill up quickly during prime times.
Disappointed there was no Happy Hour in Columbia, otherwise good.
Food was delicious. The only issue was that we ordered the steak salad with dressing on the side. When the salad arrived, the dressing was mixed in. That being said, the salad was delicious.
There were three of us for dinner at 6:00 pm. The restaurant was packed and people were waiting for tables. We walked in with reservations thru opentable and were seated immediately. VERY EASY AND VERY NICE!!!
We had cocktails and dinner. Everything came out SO FAST! The crab cakes and fillets are very tasty and I would definitely use opentable to book another reservation here.
Entree was fine, but the rest left a lot to be desired. And for my taste, dining area was too loud. Difficult to hear conversation at times.
The food was excellent. But, we asked for a table away from the noise since my dad is hard of hearing. They sat us at a booth, which was too small for our party of 6 right under a speaker. My dad couldn't hear the conversation much less our server. There were plenty of open tables, not booths. When elderly people are in the party, booths are difficult and the hostess didn't seem to care. Had this been my first visit, it would have been my last. I'll give them another chance. It was a very expensive meal that wasnt as enjoyable as I had hoped.
The food is very good. But this trip was definitely not worth the money.
Great ribs, salads and grilled chicken. Food is always fresh
