Steamship Grill & Bar aims to satisfy every palate.

We were inspired by the historical significance of our surroundings. Built in 1924, the Heritage Steamship Terminal building is an important landmark in the history of Victoria, BC. Designed by Francis Rattenbury in the Beaux-Arts style, it was the building that welcomed steamship passengers from all over the world. Now open to the public with a gift shop commemorating the history, the Heritage Steamship Terminal is a great place to enjoy a delicious seafood meal.

This will cater to not only a working business-style luncheon or dinner function, but also to special occasion diners celebrating a birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc.In conjunction with the Bateman Gallery above us, we will also be able to cater to larger groups (up to 80). Great menu selection, we had 6 in our party and we all ordered different dishes. The food was delicious and very fairly priced, the only issue we ad was the prompt for tips started at 18%, 20% and so on. I am a very reasonable tipper, but 20% of the bill is way to much. Pay your staff an appropriate wage, increase your price and ask for a reasonable tip

One of the best patio views of Victoria’s inner harbour. Good food, but really, the views are the main draw here. We ate here last year and the food was not great, to be honest, but we knew the views were amazing, so thought we’d risk it. We’re glad we did, as the food was much improved, which was a pleasant surprise. Still a bit pricey, and the dessert servings are on the small side for the price, but better food made the whole harbour experience much more enjoyable. Compliments to the kitchen staff, they’ve got it right now.

Booked for Mother’s Day and was given no information ahead of time that we only had a very overpriced and underwhelming buffet as an option. By the time we arrived it was too late to change and we were left only with the option of staying. Many kids running around screaming and no one asked them to settle at the their tables. Disappointing experience.

Staff and location were fantastic! Mom's Day brunch was 'eh'... everything had a 'sweet' flavour to it, even the eggs and the structure to get to the buffet (long line) could have been managed better. Definitely wasn't a $40 brunch.

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary and our amazing waitress (Chelsea) went above and beyond to make our night amazing. She was able to get us oysters (which neither of us have tried before) from the happy hour menu AND gave us some Prosecco to celebrate our special day (I also just recently graduated so this trip was a double celebration!). We started with the shrimp and crab dip which was TO DIE FOR. My boyfriend had the steak and I had the crab bisque and crab cakes… this was some of the best seafood I’ve had in such a long time!! I was scared to try the oysters but they were so fresh (from Vancouver - Myagi oysters) and you could really tell. I could tell it was busy and they were doing their best to catch up… the customer service from Chelsea was so amazing, and backed up by the amazing food - it is definitely a must try!! And right on the harbour: 10/10. We ended the night with some key lime cheese cake which was also divine. I’ll be sad to leave Victoria because I haven’t found a restaurant at home that matches this.

Fish and chips - seemed like they were leftover's warmed up - we asked if the chips were small bits and were assured they were not...but they were! The waitress did not come back at all during our meal to check if things were okay.... and we were practiacally the only ones in the restaurant! Should have know when a mouse ran over my foot when we first sat down that things might go well. We have eaten here several times over the years and things have been good, but this time it was not so good.

Although the food was great it was hard to find the washroom as there are no real clear signs. Also found that ne server was wandering around, serving food with her long hair down and was and would brush her hair back and then pick up a plate of food to a table. Thought it was industry standard for a server to have his/her hair tied back.

The service was very great. We ordered a dish of mussels and clams mixed, unfortunately, one of the big clams was not fresh and tasted a bit nausea. We didn’t bother to tell the server. Just left the dish untouched .

Seated by the windows, nice view of the harbour. Service was quick and efficient. The crab was smaller than the shell cracker was useful for. The only downside was the size/quality of the crab. The steak, salmon, prawns, mashed potatoes and veggies were all perfect.

Chicken was burnt no bread and when it did come late was dried out other meal was fish which was to have salsa verde on it but had none. I’d say they had cooks which didn’t know what they were doing and it wasn’t as though the place was busy
