   The ambiance and location were extremely beautiful. However, the food was extremely cold. There was nothing hot or even lukewarm that was being served. Also, the drinks were very hot. It seemed everything was backward--food was cold and the drinks (water, iced tea, lemonade, pineapple juice, etc.) were warm.

   I have had Steak in some of the finest restaurants in Las Vegas to Austin, and by far this was the worst. I asked for medium, and it was bleeding so they took it back and came back with well-done rubbery steak. My son had a filet, and it was done medium as he had asked, so I know what their version of medium is. The waiter was nice, but the food was disappointing.

    It was extremely loud inside the restaurant in the interior room looking out over the lake. We could barely hear our server, let alone each other for the first part of the meal. Finally, several other tables left and things calmed down. But it was not very conducive to any conversation with our family. The server was professional and knew the menu very well. however, the food took an extremely long time - we were told this was due to all the private rooms booked that evening. If you can't We were not offered anything for the long period of time we waited, no comp dessert, nor did a manager ever come by to say anything. Our server just said it was coming soon and other large parties were ahead of us. Not great for this caliber of restaurant at these prices. Our food finally arrived and it was just OK. The medallions trio could only be ordered med rare or med well, and in the end were quite tough. My bf enjoyed his smoked prime rib. They served a pile of green beans with every dish, which seemed so boring and disenchanting. There was zero creativity to our dishes. Overall very overpriced and underwhelming experience at this steakhouse. Disappointing for the price we paid.

    Lines too long for buffet, they needed more staff per station to speed up the lines. Seriously 10-15 minutes we waited at the two stations on the left. That was the only problem, food was great.

    Overall, the holiday brunch was great, some of the food left something to be desired and, honestly, our server looked as if she'd been run over the coals already and we got there at 10 am. But the view was fantastic, the omelets were fantastic, and the mimosa flight was great, I felt like we could have done just fine with regular Sunday brunch for $30 though. The holiday dishes offered weren't as stellar as I would have liked them to be. I would recommend the brunch to others in the end!

    Service not as attentive as usual. Waiting on water refills, bread. Two of us. Both had meat undercooked. Sent back to cook medium (medium rare too bloody in center). Came back well done instead of medium. No pink anywhere. Did not complain. Very disappointed.

    I don’t generally write reviews but I feel like I’m giving back to society with this one. We eat out a lot. We know good food. You will not find it here. The steaks were mediocre, at best. The entire establishment needs a major overhaul. Before even entering the front doors, we noticed their planters were filled with plastic flowers. Eesh. We arrived at 4:15 and asked to sit outside. They said that was fine as long as we were willing to spend $50 per seat. We ended up spending $100 per seat but the rule alone was so tacky it should have been enough to turn us away. Even still, we had made the drive for this place and I couldn’t bear to sit inside with the old nasty carpet smell so outside we went. Btw, there was only one other table occupied when we arrived and only a handful of tables occupied when we left but their seats are SO valuable, you know? As far as our order goes, two of us were going to split one of the larger, signature entrées that cost a premium amount but were told there was a $10 split charge. We had already purchased a nice bottle of wine and were buying sides to go along but again, this rule was just annoying so we changed our order altogether. It’s a principle thing for me. I cannot stand when restaurants act cheap, especially not very good restaurants. The food arrived and every single thing was just so basic. Nothing at all was impressive. The best thing we had was the wine, the view, and the company. Even the bag for our leftovers was one of those cheap white plastic bags that say THANK YOU in red block letters. You know, the kind you would get from a convenient store? I think that sums it up. +cons: a long hair on our tablecloth, one of the napkins had gross black stuff all over it, also a dirty fork we put to the side. Oh, and the table next to us had an unsecured umbrella lift up and whack the side of her head. But as cheap as this restaurant acts with all their extra charges, I would be shocked if they comped anything for her.

    Don’t get me wrong, the food was pretty amazing. The hostess at the front were very kind and serving. But when it came to our waiter, the service she provided was less than average. We didn’t know how to dress or what to expect, so me and my boyfriend came in jeans, shorts, and tshirts. We opted to sit inside due to the long outside. As soon as we sat down, our waiter had her mind set that we probably wouldn’t tip good because we don’t look like we have money. She was inattentive to us the whole night. And we could clearly see her giving all her attention to her other tables that looked more wealthy. Very disappointed in the service. Gave her a good tip even though she didn’t work for it.     What has happened to XS? The steaks have shrunk to tiny sizes. Our 22 ounce porterhouse looked like a thin pork chop medallions. The service quality has disappeared, especially when the entres were served and no waiter in sight. We served our own bottle of wine as the waiter was clueless. We had to pay a minimum charge/not an issue but the live music never started, despite the hostess telling us otherwise. I tried to speak to the manager on the way out, but not happy with what use to be a local gem.

    Had a great first time overall! My only complaint was our waiter didn’t check on us; didn’t offer refills, and we had to track down in order to pay to leave. He was very observant to the table next to us however we got treated like we weren’t paying guest! The food was Sunday buffet brunch and it was absolutely amazing!

    The greeter & table assigner at the front entrance was the nicest, happiest great mood setter young lady I’ve ever encountered!! she made me smile !! Our steak meals were incredible!! The best steak was the cowboy bonein ribeye with Pittsburgh finish ! The service was excellent with minimal wait time for our Lucious meal:) dessert of bread pudding & bananas foster cooked table side was delicious!! The only downside was while we thoroughly enjoyed the cool outside air, thebans was too loud so we couldn’t have a conversation & our family visit time ; The band was very good but too loud to visit :/

    Even though I made the reservation over 2 weeks ago they sat us at a table in the bar like we were overflow. Our “servers” for the night were 3 different bartenders who seemed to be in a competition of who could ignore us the most. I’m not a difficult person who expects a server to “serve” me. My expectations are extremely reasonable. I spent decades working in restaurants of all levels. I know the ropes, I know the deal. I had my fair share of difficult customers. I go out of my way to not be one. Last nights service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. I would think a 3-top spending over $400 would get at least minimal service level. I would not call staring at dirty app plates and empty drink glasses for 30 minutes an acceptable level of service in any restaurant. That’s just one example of the night. The was food was very good. That was the only positive part of the night.

    We celebrated our ten year anniversary. Everything was great. Everything is always great! I enjoyed the wood smoked ribeye, and my wife had the sea bass. We also started with the shrimp cocktail and finished with the crème brûlée. Wonderful evening.

    Can't miss with Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. Took my 17 year old son there last night. Sat outside and enjoyed the views of Lake Travis. My son was super impressed with the chicken fried elk which was tender and flavorful. We'll be back.
