   We’ve been here on multiple occasions and unfortunately this was not the best. We had family visiting and rave about this place so we decided to come in for brunch. Our table was set up perfectly in advance as we had reservations. However, it lacked the service we are used to. We had Jessica as our server. She was polite when she first approached but after a short time, her service decreased after our drinks were taken. It took 20 minutes for our waters to be poured since we sat down. We didn’t receive our beverages until 35 minutes after placing our order with our appetizer. Where 2 tables that sat after us received their beverages well before. We only ordered a mimosa carafe and a Bloody Mary. To then have our drinks come out after a long while and also received a second Bloody Mary which was not ordered but also added to our bill. Our appetizer of 2x biscuits came out 45-50 minutes later. No apologies at all about the delays. We had 3 people in our party who ordered chicken & waffles. One gal in our party still needed a moment to decide what to order. We did not see our server until 20+ minutes later. She then stated the chicken and waffles were sold out and handed back our menus to reorder. She left again and took a while before coming back. After ordering our meals it took another 40 minutes for the orders to come. We ordered berries for the children and were given cantaloupe when specifically ordered berries. We ordered a coffee and she specifically asked for a creamer preference then never brought the coffee out. One of our friends constantly tried to flag our waitress down but never received her attention. She was consistent with checking up on the other large party next to us but never came to us nor inquired how our meals were. We ordered 2 eggs your way over easy, the egg yolks were cooked as if they ordered over hard and both ordered turkey sausage and one received pork sausage. Not happy with our 2+ hour long wait of a brunch and the $$$ we had spent.

   Had an early dinner here last Friday and it was just underwhelming. I had the Herb Marinated Halibut. The overall flavor and quality was good, but the dish was just not functional to eat. Large slices of Tomatoes, uncut herbs were just heaped on top, essentially just making them garnish. It doesn’t make sense when you have a fish that doesn’t need a knife to eat but the vegetables do. In my opinion the herbs should have been blended with some oil and then drizzled on top, and the tomatoes should have been diced.

   The food was good but was not worth the price point. Was expecting more of a wow factor. Plates were basic with no side of biscuits or toast. The waffle was hard and barely warm. Didn’t complain as I had to rush through breakfast to catch a flight. Disappointed customer.

   We went for the "bourbon & biscuits" event, which was fun and different but much pricier than expected. We shared a flight, and it was $60 for just one small bourbon flight (3 pours - maybe an ounce each) and 3 mini biscuits. We stayed for dinner and the food was very average. We both had steak frites and the quality reminded me of something you'd get at a low cost chain restaurant. It was fine and we ate it, but it certainly wasn't fine dining. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice. I wouldn't return due to the high price for very average food. There are much better options nearby.

   We had reservations for 8:00pm, arrived on time and were seated in bar area. The bar traffic picked up within 5 minutes of being seated. However, our waiter was offered a quick pivot and move us to a different table in the bar area. The wait service was great and the food was good. I will choose the Stella San Jac again but with a group of friends meeting at the bar.

   The service was great, Mary did a wonderful job. The food was very mediocre for the high prices they are charging. They serve cold biscuits in a hot skillet. The pork chop was nearly inedible from how dry it was. The steak for the steak frites was very poor quality meat. The quality is so much lower than the prices would suggest.

    The guacamole toast was a disgrace. There was barely any guac on the toast and it was covered in an orange color grease. It came with indigestion afterwards.

    Too loud for quality conversation. Undesirable seating -- the only two tables for two were flush against the wait staff service stations and the hostess would not allow two people to sit at a four top (even though MANY were available). The menu descriptions are compelling, but the food is mediocre at best. My "Texas Red Fish" was overcooked and I am convinced it was just plain old farm-raised tilapia (NOT red drum).

    The food was pretty good. Super small plates that are pretty spendy. We spent a $100 and still had to do a late night velvet taco run a few hours later.

    The server brought us the wrong appetizer. When the correct one finally showed up it was overcooked. The mains did not come out at the same time. The snapper was okay but nothing special. A complimentary dessert was brought to make up for the mistakes but the server simply showed up with a piece of cheesecake which we don’t eat. Wine list is very limited. All told not a great experience.

    Stella San Jac was o.k. but the ambiance was kindof weird (corporate/chainy) for Southern Fare. I loved the Old Fashioned cocktail. We got biscuits as a starter & wouldn't do that again (I kinda felt like a chump for ordering it. They were effing normal BISCUITS! 3 for $9.00 & something a gracious restaurant would offer like a complimentary bread basket for the table! 🙄). But the crab hushpuppies were delicious. I got the short rib & it was yummy, presented on a bed of mashed potato puree (not terrible, but sturdy mashed potatoes would have been more appetizing), my husband got the chicken on a bed of grits ... the chicken was perfectly cooked but the grits were uninspired & lacked salt😳. My son liked his pork chop but I thought it was dry and nuthin to write home about. His gf got a fried avocado salad & she was happy with it, it was huge & looked packed w/ veggies. An unfortunate thing about SSJ was where they sat us ... the dining room wasn't full, but we were seated right next to the door, kinda out in the boonies. The waiter was pretty inattentive & I chalked-it up to us being so far from everyone else. 😢 The waiter brought the bill without offering us a dessert menu, but he nicely surprised us by comping 2 cocktails for the birthday guy. Overall we had a fine time (but that was mostly due to the peeps I was with). I'm not super inclined to go back or even recommend it.

    Server had a trainee and was clearly distracted from giving the tables solid service. Dry biscuits, hush puppies were good. Dirty plates from app course left on table, no new silverware for entree course. Entrees were bland. Devoid of salt. Salt shaker on table was empty. Both entrees dry and over cooked. We came on a Tuesday. Only a few tables in the restaurant. We had looked forward to trying this place, the menu looked good online. Hope they can figure it out.

    Raw redfish - had to send back- no manager ever came by. Beet salad too heavy on truffle. Drinks too sweet. Worst meal ever in Austin.

    I sat at the bar and everyone was extremely nice and welcoming. They were so friendly, that I didn’t have the heart to tell them that I didn’t like my meal. It’s starred as a favorite, but I wasn’t a fan. I’d come back for just drinks and the great service.

    We had a group of sales members arriving in Austin for a conference. The restaurant was very accommodating of our group. Good and drinks were good and there was a variety of good small plates to share too besides entrees .
