Excellente soirée, service incomparable, la viande de bœuf un délice avec une cuisson parfaite selon les demandes. Seul petit regret, nous aurions aimé voir la viande ce faire cuir sur le beau grill à l'entrée, mais il aurait fallu rester dans l'entrée :)

We hadn’t been to the Sterling in years so my husband and i and with our friends decided to celebrate our birthdays ( all in one week ) together. We remembered the last time we were there, we were shown our steaks and seafood at our table so we could pick… it was a nice touch. This time, we were directed directly to “la table d’hôte” . We all chose la table d’hôte cause it was great value ( three course meal with the addition of a small soup not extra) the food was very good, the service was excellent. A little disappointed that i had specified online in our reservation that we were there for a birthday.. no mention of this at the restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant only for friends with deep pockets

Nous étions six personnes pour célébrer les succès académiques de notre fille. Nous avons été très bien accueillis et servis. Tous les plats (potage, salades, boeuf, sangliers, crevettes et desserts) étaient succulents. C'est cher, mais ça vaut vraiment le coût pour célébrer une belle occasion en famille.

Tout était excellent et le service très attentionné. Le seul bémol est qu'il faisait un peu chaud dans la section en haut. Une petite attention est donné pour les anniversaires alors n'hésitez pas à le mentionner!

Service was impeccable but pace between courses was a bit slow. Not ridiculously protracted but could have been shorter. Lots of choice on the menu with good quality steaks. Felt we paid a fair price for our meal. Liked that everything was not an "add on" as in other steakhouses. Would go back.

Unfortunately, I left very disappointed by the experience. On our visit we were greeted by the server who complained about being understaffed. I am very compassionate, but that should not have been made my problem, especially not in a high-end restaurant. We ordered a few things out of which I remember three which were a huge disappointment: coconut shrimps - deep fried (with some strange aftertaste), unevenly chopped and tossed on a plate. baked potato - cold, flavorless and double backed, which is not what i wish it was. lobster tail - rubbery. The steak and drinks were great, but that's it. We had very little attention from the server who had troubles managing his time. I find it quite unacceptable for a restaurant where the bill is nearly $400 for two. I used to love Sterling but will not be returning.

Great dinner out with friends! Most of us opted for the table d'hote and the one who didn't, regretted it (of course their a la carte meal was also amazing) Food was cooked perfectly and served at a perfect temperature, wine selection and drinks were great, and the service was impeccable. Was our first time, but we'll be back again soon I'm sure.

Our party of 9 from Toronto area, Montreal an Ottawa gathered at Sterling for my daughter and my brother’s birthdays. Excellent service by Yan and his helpers, excellent setting, excellent food, Table d’hôtes was great, à la carte orders were great, excellent drinks and wine selections, excellent overall, we will definitely be back.

Received wrong dish but server has offered compensation (no meal replacement). Plate was okay, béarnaise sauce tasted way too much vinegar and wasn’t hot enough. Dinning room had no windows, and decorated minimally (didn’t take advantage of the nice view front water). Great selection of wine. Nice grilling smoke when entering the restaurant. I was expecting a bit more for such a steakhouse.

What a waste of an evening. Waited 10 minutes to be greeted. Waited 10 minutes for server to acknowledge us. Waited endlessly for courses. Tables that arrived 30 minutes after us got served dishes more quickly. What was supposed to be a special night was filled with futility.

Sterling's table d'hote menu is always a good value. We enjoyed a wonderfully prepared filet mignon meal, and the 3 mushroom soup was a real hit as well. Service is impeccable and the ambience superior. Sterling has been around a long time and they just know how to give you a very nice experience. If you are into wine, there are very few places in Ottawa or Gatineau with such an extensive wine list. We enjoyed a beautiful Pomerol. Excellent experience as always!

The location of this restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance outside on the patio was just perfect. Service was good but the waiter seemed quite busy and distracted. Really impressed by the wine selection but the food left something to be desired. I had the onion soup to start which was delicious and my partner had the grilled octopus - no issues there! The filet mignon was ok - I’ve had much better for much less $$ and the asparagus was over cooked, mushy and flavourless so quite disappointing. The vegetables served with the steak were the same. Overall a nice dinner but considering value/quality, I would go elsewhere.

Very good experience, but for the price I expected the steak to be a little bit better (under seasoned) but the blue cheese sauce made up for the lack of seasoning. Wine pairing was good. Overall very good, but 400$ for 2 was more than I would have paid for it.

The food was gross. Seasoning was non existent. The shrimp tasted terrible and I’m pretty sure the rice was rice-a-roni. The waiter was nice and attentive but the food was basically inedible for 300 dollars.

Oysters were really big not so tasty covered in parsley, there was a funny sauce the waiter didn’t explain what it was. There was no mignonette no horseradish. The table d’hôte was a 4 course meal, the soup was ok, the beef tartare was a weird grey color almost as if it was pre-made and had been sitting there for hours. The steaks were well prepared the shrimps were over cooked. Overall the service took over 2 hours it was really long to wait. The waiter seemed a little overwhelmed. We waited a long time between each service. The food ever definitely overpriced for what it was. Safe to say we will not be returning here.

My husband and I had the table d’hôte . The soup was delicious and the beet salad excellent . Our main course had the teice baked potato which was very tasty and the accompanying vegetables were beautifully cooked . Weboth found that our New York sirloin could have had more flavour and more tenderness . I wish to add that the attention to my meal being gluten free was exceptional . We will return . Our guests were very pleased with their meal . One had filet mignon and the other had salmon . They were presented with a lovely decorated plate wishing them Happy 50th Anniversary ! A very nice touch . Well appreciated !
