   Very good value of the table d’hôte. Large portions of both salad and main meal. Temperature of side vegetables was only lukewarm as well as Bearnaise sauce. Rest of main course and soup temperature excellent. Excellent service and very engaging conversation

   Very unpleaseant experience with a brunch of drunk customers who ruined the evening. We asked to move to another table. The staff moved us downstair where we were quiet for 15 minutes before the drunk people came to sit next to us. The staff did nothing to tone them down. It’s a $200/person expensive experience for that type of ambiance. If I had wanted to go to a nightclub, I would have gone next door. #LeBoDan #LicensePlate

   My dinner was quite expensive $80 for filet mignon and they mixed up the plates and accompanying sauces with my friend. This happens but there was no quality check after serving the dinner and absolutely no apology. The twice baked potato was tasteless and the steak was average tasting and no where near as tender as a filet mignon should be. We let the waiter know and he offered to comp our drinks. I know this barely costs them anything. When we’re leaving the restaurant the waiter yelled to us from across the room, “it’s customers like you that make us not want to work in the service industry”. Many of the patrons would have heard this. We let the manager know. He said he would have a word with him. We said we won’t be back and he replied I guess there’s no use in giving you a gift certificate then. All in all a terrible night that was supposed to have a celebration. The exterior of the restaurant also looks extremely tired and in need of a facelift including the landscaping.

   We always enjoy this restaurant. Excellent food and lovely staff. This last visit the service was a little slow (short staffed maybe) but our waiter was great.

   Nice steak. We ordered shrimp as a side and they gave us a single shrimp. It was laughable. I suppose “shrimp” is both singular and plural. The wine selection was great and the steak was done perfectly, however there is much better value steakhouses with similar price points in the city.

    Our server, Genevieve, made the entire night amazing! There was an issue with our meal coming out early, but being brought back to the kitchen by another server. Genevieve resolved the hiccup very quickly and to our satisfaction. Funny and personable. The special request I had at dessert was executed flawlessly. Meal was superb, and we both definitely want to go back.

    Le repas et notre service était super, on ne peut pas demander mieux. Notre serveur était dynamique et très drôle (J'ai oublié son nom malheureusement sinon je vous le recommanderais). Nous étions assis au 2ième étage. Suivant l'arrivé d'un groupe, dont l’un ou plusieurs membres portaient un parfum très relevé donc déplaisant pour nous qui étaient juste à côté. Suivant notre demande, le Sterling a accepté de nous déplacer et ce à 2 reprises car la fragrance était toujours aussi présente la 1ère fois. Tout cela nous a permis de passée une très belle soirée. Je vous le recommande et nous allons définitivement y retourner.

    We came to Sterling for their excellent beef. The Table d'hote was delicious but the NY steak was tough - so tough it was hard to cut even with a steak knife! This was disappointing since on previous visits the meat at Sterling was excellent. The waiter offered to replace it but I figured another NY steak would not be any better since my husband said his NY steak also was tough. The experience makes me hesitate about a return visit.

    The food was good, but the service was a little slow and disorganized. I have been going to this restaurant for 20 years and We have always loved the food and especially the service with Marc who has served us so many times. There seems to be a large turnover in the staff.

    L’ambiance était parfaite, le service excellent et courtois. La nourriture était plutôt en deçà de nos attentes, le steak cuisson saignante devrait être chaud, était froid et pour un Sterling Angus, beaucoup de nerfs. La soupe excellente mais salée, les champignons vraiment trop salés. J’avais déjà eu ce genre d’expérience avec la soupe aux onions… pour le prix, plutôt décevant.

    I had the Cowboy steak and it was the best steak I’ve ever had. The grilling process over a wood burning flame was outstanding. It was tender, juicy and very large (20 ounces). Everything else on the plate like the baked potato and mashed potatoes was average, but the steak made up for it. The escargot was also very good, but the lobster bisque was average. The dessert was delicious and the right portion size.

    This was the best steakhouse I’ve ever been to. I’m not a big steak person, we went for my partner, but I would definitely go back for more of that tenderloin. Excellent meal.

    We were celebrating several family birthdays, including the newest member (1 year old). All of the staff were extremely attentive and made us feel comfortable and welcome. We received everything we ordered in good time. We even had a plate of mashed potatoes delivered early to keep the young children from having to wait - a great touch. The adult meals were perfectly cooked, the wine was a great match for our steaks, and we left at the end of the evening with some carry-out as we just could not eat it all. Dining at Sterling has been a tradition for a number of years, and it was great to be able to go back again after COVID. I highly recommend them for the quality of the meal and especially the service.
