About Steve and Rocky's
Steve & Rocky's purchases live oysters, lobsters, mussels, day boat caught fin fish, (un-soaked) sea scallops, fresh aged meats, extremely fresh produce, real heavy cream, pure unsalted butter, imported cheeses, and extra virgin olive oil. All of these fresh ingredients are rigorously specified based on our extremely high and exacting standards, painstakingly shopped based upon seasonality, and carefully inspected upon receipt. At Steve & Rocky's, critical ingredients are delivered daily to insure freshness. Their purveyors know that they will not accept anything but the absolute best quality ingredients and after years of working with them and competing to earn their business, they only send their very best. In the summer months, Chef Steve grows organic produce for the restaurant on his personal micro-farm.
Though many say Steve & Rocky's specializes in Seafood, Chefs Steve Allen and Chuck Rachwitz feel that the menu is diverse with something for every one's taste.

Steve and Rocky's Ratings and Reviews
Great evening out! Rodney is a fantastic server, the food was delicious and hot and we met the new general manager.
I was a little surprised at the poor service as I've not had these problems during past visits. After taking our order the waitress indicated bread would be brought to our table. It never came and only after we asked for bread when the appetizers arrived was it provided. Additionally, the appetizers took quite a while to get to our table and when they came the soup I ordered was cold. No one bothered to check that the soup must have been sitting out somewhere for a long period before it was served. That should not happen at a restaurant of this quality.
Family of four for dinner. $27 for $8 bottle of wine. Over priced entrees relative to portion sizes. Great bread. Great soup and salad. For me, it’s just over priced for what you get but it is a nice restaurant and apparently popular.
Menu provides excellent choices; the food is always wonderful. We usually get seated in Anthony's section and now always ask for him. He is super efficient, friendly, anticipates the customer's needs, and even remembers what we usually drink.
The mushroom soup was excellent. I had the filet which was cooked perfectly to my specifications and great. My wife had the scallops which were also very good. Recommended restaurant, but make reservations for Saturday night because it was busy.
Great experience until the long wait for our entrees to come.
After waiting what seemed a very unacceptable time for them the steaks that were ordered were overcooked and just warm.
We were offered free desserts that placated the disappointment some.
Many trips to this location and by far the worst experience.
Overall it was a nice evening . Went their to celebrate the new year with dinner and drinks, Had to wait about 20-25 minutes for a table. The waiter who was black was very good one of the best waiters we ever had.
New Year’s Eve
Great restaurant for special occasion. Very good food for very reasonable value.
Our dinner was our traditional New Year’s Eve dinner at this restaurant. It was quite crowded but with our Open Table reservation we sat down within 5 minutes of our reservation time. The crowd at this restaurant is typically middle aged and up. The food was very good even though my Lamb Shank was a little more done than I like. The wait staff was absolutely fantastic and all of them wished us a Happy New Year. Our waitress was excellent and provided us excellent service. Overall it was an outstanding start to a great evening
Sadly this was our least favorable trip to Steve & Rocky's. Seating was well beyond the 7 pm reservation and the table was too close to the doorway with it's cold blasts every time somebody went in or out, too close to patrons and staff traffic and too close to the piano.
The acorn squash soup and wine were excellent. I don't know about my wife's dinner but my fillet was well beyond the medium that I ordered. Overcooked steak losses a lot. But we did enjoy each others company and won't hold the table or food preparation against them for long.
They basically are a fine restaurant but New Year's Eve seemed to overwhelm them.
Food and service were excellent, and surprisingly, we really enjoyed the keyboard player.
While this was New Years Eve and the restaurant was very busy the service was very slow. We were seated promptly at the reservation time of 6:30 it was after 9:00 when our bill was paid. I had ordered a beer, the waitress asked if I wanted a glass and I indicated I did. The beer arrived-no glass. I asked again for a glass and after 15 minutes passed I finally asked a busboy who brought one right away. Again I realize that this was a very busy night but in spite of that the service was slower that it should have been.
From the host to the wait staff, everything was top notch. The lake perch meal that I ordered was superb. I'd order it again.
Two enthusiastic thumbs up for a great New Year's eve dinner.
At first there was some communication issues as to who our server was supposed to be so that was frustrating. I was disappointed that ordering filet mignon and given a steak knife, I was still having problems cutting it. I ordered medium rare, which is how it was prepared, and just never had to put that much effort into cutting the meat. Besides that the soup, which was the butternut squash, was excellent and the desserts were very nice also.
Good food. Great waiter. Very slow kitchen
Chef switched main course side without
I was disappoited in the spinach salad that I ordered; the waitress seemed disappointed that I did not order protein such as the expensive extra salmon or chicken. I thought that the basic price was enough. The only ingredient seemed to be the spinach, no other items were even recognizable.
The house wine was over priced and tasted exactly like inexpensive wine; not worth the $6-8.00 price. Again I think that the waitress was disappointed that we did not order a half carafe or something. I am happy that we didn't.
It wa snowy icey day; there were a number of we older people in the restaurant. The parking lot had not been either salted or plowed, nor was the sidewalk leading to the front door cleared or salted. I saw one gentleman in particular needing help to manage these dangerous conditions. No restaurant is worth it and had the food been better it might make sense to risk life and limb but not for this place. Never again!
I used to think that this restaurant was part of the Rocky's on 7 mile. On inquiring, I found out that it is only the name that they share. Personally, it seems to be of a higher quality.
Good food. It was very short of staff on 12/28., probably unexpected by the management.
The manager and wait staff were great. The manager came by multiple times. Our server went above and beyond. The live piano player was excellent. The food was delicious.
This was our first visit. I took my parents for a Christmas eve dinner. Everything exceeded all (4) of our expectations. We will definitely be returning soon.
Great as usual. Had our favorite waiter, Rodney. The mushroom soup is to die for. Great service considering that it was Christmas Eve.
The staff was friendly but it took so long to get our meal. It didn't seem busy but we waited for almost 45 minutes to be served our meal.
We attended for my teams holiday celebration. The waiter was excellent. Our meals came out promptly and everything was perfect.
Anthony is the BEST server! We have been going to Steve and Rocky’s for years and have enjoyed the food and service. Fresh food, creatively prepared.
Had a group of 9. One person in our group ordered pork chops and they brought her perch. It took 20+ minutes for her meal to come. All the rest of us had already finished our dinners. One guest ordered filet medium and it came well done—no pink. We ordered 3 decaf cappuccinos. We had to ask for spoons for the coffee. They came with curdled foamed milk — couldn’t drink them. Our bill came with full price for the pork chop dinner. We had to ask for the manager to be comped. This was for a birthday dinner. Our guest was not offered a complimentary dessert. We are regulars at Steve and Rocky’s but it will be a long time before we return.
Our party of eight arrived for a 1:00 reservation and were immediately seated. We were finally presented with our bill and left at 4:30. Management was apologetic for being understaffed for the crowd (place was never more than 2/3 full). There were lengthy periods when our waiter was not seen anywhere in the restaurant. The food finally arrived hot and was fine. We were given discount cards for use in the future. Not sure if we will use them.
S&R is a favorite for almost 20 years. Menu is interesting with some constant offerings. We live locally but know it is popular with folks further away. Great staff and management. Nice wine list. Servers knowledgeable, friendly and competent. Highly recommend for all reasons.
Meals were a little slow coming out of the kitchen. Food is always terrific
This place was amazing from the time we got there. Everyone was friendly and the ambiance and food was wonderful. If you haven't tried it, then you should. we will be going back.
The food is always fabulous. The bummer part was that they were overbooked. We had a reservation, and did not sit for 45 minutes past the reservation time. When people make a reservation, the expectation is that the restaurant honor that and have designated tables for those reservations. Our waitress was so sweet and good, but service was super slow because of the overbooking. It took a long time to get drinks, or to take our orders. The managers stepped in great when they saw waitstaff was busy.
Great place for a nice dinner!! We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was top notch. Our waiter, Rodney, was fantastic!!
Our go to restaurant. Always great food and service along withe ambiance
Excellent food, and the service was just the same. Overall, a very good experience with friendly staff and scrumptious dining.
Excellent overall. Outstanding service.
We have dined at S&R for almost 20 years. It is always an enjoyable meal, lunch or dinner. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We introduce all our friends to this venue. Top quality. It is a 4 star restaurant with 2 star prices. Highly recommend to you. They do larger parties as well as usual.
We’ve had problems with service in the past so had stopped going. Decided to try again for date night. Service was great & food was delicious. We had a wonderful evening.
There were a lot of appealing choices. I was having a hard time deciding between sautéed Lake Perch and sautéed sea scallops. The waiter recommend the scallops and he was spot on. They were wonderful !!! Great recommendation!
Underwhelmed is the word I would use. Between poor wait service and other staff dragging along the folding tray holder and the fruit flies in abundance, I found it not to be worth a return visit quite honestly. A member of my party even went to the manager and he said he'd take care of us but that basically meant he came and removed bread plates that had been left once our entrees had been boxed. Scallops were the delight of the event. Service was not. Even coffee service was poor.
Great food, enjoyable atmosphere. Had a wonderful time.
There are so many restaurants in the Novi area, yet we consistently find ourselves at Steve and Rocky’s and are always disappointed when we go elsewhere. If you look at my other reviews you can see that I dine out a lot all over the country so I know what I like - this place always exceeds expectations!
For example, last night I was in the mood for a steak. Steve and Rocky’s isn’t known as being a steakhouse necessarily. There was a t-bone on the menu but I asked if they had any other steaks. The waiter went to check options in the kitchen and chef Steve himself came out to see what I had in mind. He helped me decide on a nice ribeye and it was as good or better than I’ve had I dozens of places that specialize in steaks! How many places can you go and get that kind of personalized service? Top notch food, great service, and a great vibe combined for another outstanding dinner out with the family! Thanks Steve and Rocky’s! We’ll be back often!
