we have gone there many times but this was not a good visit. service was unacceptable. they forgot us in the red room. we asked several times for a bread basket. after 1 hour and 15 minutes we received a bread basket with 3 pieces of bread for 4 people we were told that we would receive more bread i n 2 minutes and never did. when i asked for a manager i was told that she was the manager (but i was told that she was the owners wife) who said" this is lellis " what does that mean. not a good experience we would think long and hard about returning
This is one of the best restaurants in town... Love dinning here...
Food was great, service substandard. Very disappointed compared to prior visits. Couldn't believe the busperson stacked the dirty dishes right in front of us on the table.
Wonderful food and great service in a very cozy romantic environment.
We waited almost one hour between the soup/salad course and the entree’. Really unacceptable for our group!
What an outstanding place!!! Food atmosphere and service was great as always!
Great food and we wanted to take our time but when we did order it took a long time for our food to come
Service was extremely slow and waiter forgot to bring our drinks. I specifically ordered my salmon medium rare, but by the time our food finally came, my salmon was well done. Very disappointing.
Service was very slow. Dinner took 3 hours. Salad dressing was sparse. Soup was excellent. Pasta was too salty. Chateau was delicious. Chef used the wrong sauce for veal dish.
We’ve NEVER had a bad meal here. Always delicious food with great service.
I have been a patron of Lelli's foralmost 60 yrs. I'm fond of their menu, sorry woodward gone
Wonderful service and huge portions plus delicious
A friend recommended that we try Steven Lelli's for dinner. We were so pleased that we did! The atmosphere is lovely and inviting as soon as you step thorough the doors. The service and food were excellent! The wait staff was efficient and appropriately attentive. In addition, our head waiter listened and personalized our dinner for us. We had cocktails before dinner and our waiter helped us select a nice Italian bottle of wine that paired well with our dinners. It was perfect!
We would highly recommend Steven Lelli's for any occasion.
We will definitely return.
I have lived in the Detroit metro for decades and this was my best dining experience in Michigan. Often these reviews can be exaggerated good or bad, but I can honestly say everything down to the last detail was outstanding. The ambiance was classic elegance, service attentive but not overbearing or trying to be your friend, menu selections comprehensive and all courses superb (appetizer, salad, entree and dessert).
Somewhat pricey, but well worth it. If you have to worry about cost so much it would lessen your enjoyment, stay home.
Best Italian food in the city!
We had such a wonderful dinner! The food was amazing and service excellent. Owner, Mark Zarkin does such a fantastic job taking care of his customers that we always look forward to going there and bringing friends.
I would have given Lelli’s 5 stars except for one thing — the TVs over the bar in the dining room. They just don’t belong in the dining room like at a casual dining restaurant. I found them extremely distracting even without the sound on. At these prices, the ambiance should be paid better attention to.
That said, the food is great and the service is exceptional. I felt very pampered and attended to throughout the meal.
We were terribly disappointed in our evening here, mainly because of our waiter. Either he didn’t listen to our orders or there was a huge language barrier. We ordered salmon, which was good, but had to remind him we didn’t receive our side of creamed corn. When it came, it was nothing like what we’ve had here in the past (including the week before) and was inedible. The waiter blamed it on a new chef. He was often missing in action, and when finally came back smelled of smoke, so we assume he was taking smoke breaks. It was a horrible experience. We did inform management.
My husband and I was celebrating for our anniversary and it was our first time here. It was very romantic and the food was amazing! We got the lobster/crab cakes and mussels as appetizers. We devoured it quickly. We also ordered the surf n turf and chicken Marsala. Both were amazing....the only thing off was the lobster. It didn’t have the same texture as other lobsters, I think it was undercooked and too soft. Other than that, everything was perfect.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I loved the decor and atmosphere as much as I loved the food. Our service was stellar. We were immediately greeted upon sitting down and our drink order was taken. Our server explained the menu and then gave us time to relax and read. The owner was present and overseeing all operations. He was friendly and showed us around, I felt like I was visiting his home. The menu was well thought out and had many veal, steak, seafood and pasta choices. We ordered an appetizer, salad, filet dinners and sides of pasta. Everything was done perfectly. Nothing disappoints me more than when my meat is overcooked. The bolognese sauce was divine and the owner brought us extra after we mentioned how delicious it was.
We passed on dessert and instead had coffee drinks. We really enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend this spot when you are looking for fine dining. Well done!
Great food, professional wait staff, good music at a comfortable volume.
This is by far my favorite place to eat! The ambiance is amazing. Food is great! Service is excellent!
Nice lunch, it was a beautiful day, so we sat outside, which was very pleasant.
We will be back.
Great meal as always, steaks were outstanding
This was the second time i dined there and both times i had to beg for a wine list and both times the bottle i ordered was not available. I don’t think they want to sell wine.
Food was very good and served hot but with an hour wait.
Great food, great service, and great price range. You can get a delicious entree from $33 to $133. The appetizers were great and so was the entree. I had the dinner filet and my wife had the veal. They were both cooked exactly as we ordered and tasted amazing. Anyone who had anything negative to say about this place is crazy. My wife, friends, and I all loved this place and it was our first visit. As the owner said referring to any negative reviews....FAKE NEWS lol. Definitely give this place a shot, you won’t regret. We will definitely be back!!!
Contrary to most places where you'd like your food to come out quickly, this is the kind of place where you want it to be slow so you enjoy the place. In our experience, it came out really fast even though we ordered appetizers salad and steaks. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the atmosphere and each other. I guess since we weren't drinking alcohol it was like chop chop turn those tables. We got the "Kings table" which is code for worst seat in the house. It was kind of sticking out in the way of 2 pathways. Service was good, waiter was super nice. My dish (Ribeye) was excellent, my wife's Oscar filet was a bit dry and lacked the flavor and tenderness that my steak had. We didn't want to complain as it wasnt horrible. Overall it was an Ok experience and although pricey, it can be worth it if you allow the time to enjoy the courses.
Great food, great service! We had a wonderful Fathers' Day dinner and are already planning our next visit.
Excellent food served fresh and hot, service ok.
Great. It’s always great when
As always the service was lacking took an hour to get through 2 courses. Drink glasses were left empty for 30 mins during that time. Next two courses, including our steaks came out within 10 mins. Felt the steaks were both overcooked and had been sitting for a while. Ari tried his best to fix the problem but at that point we didn't want to wait for new steaks to be done. Knowing that the service normally lacks, we expected high quality food. However, we were disappointed this time as we did not receive this.
My dinning experience has been great every time I’ve been there. The ambiance is good, and the food is outstanding it’s a nice place to celebrate s birthday!
I absolutely love this place!! My husband and I have our special date nights and we always come here. Everytime it has been perfect !
Thank you for some amazing food and service.
We will definitely be back for our next date night.
We were in the Red room. Just the 2 of us. We had a great waiter Sandy. He was awesome.
I've been to Steven Lelli's previously and the waiters are great and attentive. Last night everything was slow and I had to go looking for the waiter to get my bill even. Relaxed dining is fine but 3-3.5 hours of waiting for drinks food and never even getting offered dessert ruined the experience for me. It was an unattentive dining experience. Probably one of the worst I have experienced at any restaurant that I can remember. I eat out a lot at lots of very nice four star and dive bar establishments alike and can't remember having this much trouble with service.
The food was great but slow and very substandard service.
Worst Mother day dinner I have ever had. Sat down at 7:30
and the food did not arrived at until 10 PM. We left without eating. My wife's was very upset.
The waitress kept telling us, the food is coming. Manager was nowhere to be seen. The surrounding was dirty and smelly. Silverware was very dirty. I will never come back or recommend it to anyone I love or hate!
As always, the good was excellent. The service is not very good. No greeting upon arrival, waiting for a table with a reservation and the waiter apologizing as soon as he gets to the table...late. I understand my reservation was on Mother's Day, but have had similar experiences on my last few visits. I just need to make the drive to Mario's
Don’t go on Mother’s Day.
