The Storm Crow Alehouse is Planet Hollywood for geeks, a sports bar for nerds: a place where gamers and sci-fi fans can hang out, drink a tasty microbrew and nosh on upscale pub food while watching fantasy films on the big TVs. Think of it as the anti-sports bar...

Bring your own board or card game, or borrow one from our extensive library. We have a wide selection, from Cards Against Humanity to vintage Mastermind, from classic Catan to the latest Kickstarted craze.
We show only classic sci-fi, fantasy, and horror films on our TVs... no sports or UFC here!

While you’re here, peruse our extensive collection of memorabilia and curiosities, including autographs from SF legends and nerd luminaries, not to mention our giant hearth-mounted alien trophy, or the D&D mural, or the life-size Han Solo in carbonite, or the mysteriously glowing TARDIS...

Un restaurante extraño ambientado en Comics. Rancio y guarrete. La comida de mala calidad en general. El Servicio nada para recordar.

Great place with many drink and burger options.
Very cool place decorated with nerd culture, from a full sized tardis to a Krogan(Mass Effect) head mounted over the door.

We visited Storm Crow on a Saturday afternoon with friends for a late lunch and to check out the vibe. Our group of 7 included a child and infant. We really enjoyed the fun atmosphere and decor. Our server was very attentive and we had a good casual lunch. We will certainly return as it is a unique place. The games selection includes something for everyone. It is a cool nerd bar

Fine, but nachos were pretty cheese-less and sparse, especially for the price, and servers were somewhat surly.

Great boardgames. Reservation was frustrating. We arrived 30 mins early and were turned away (understandable) but when we arrived on-time for our reservation the hostess had given away our table and blamed us for being late. Super frustrating! It all got worked out in the end, but that part was unnecessarily stressful and we had to wait ten minutes for our reserved table. Our server was really nice and beer selection is great!

Fantastic spot. Fills up really fast so I recommend reserving early by calling them or via opentable.ca

Was pleasantly surprised with how good the salmon burger was. Thanks!

Guests at my table reported their burgers we're dry and rate as mediocre. Beer menu was extensive but the one I had was terrible and I couldn't finish it. Very poor indifferent service overall.

First time there and was disappointed in service. Not very friendly and spent the first 5 minutes of our meal with no utensils. Didn't like all the uncomfortable seating, prefer more booths and tables rather than the large bar set-up. Was just a really convenient location and I'm vegan so ticked those 2 important boxes on the day.

Was looking forward to this for my birthday, was fun to be with friends but the food/drinks were disappointing. Probably a good choice for beer drinkers, but as I do not my options were limited. The ceasar was great, the other mixed drinks were a sugary mess. Food was not good, Burgers were cold and fries were tiny end- bits of chips. Decor is fun and the board game thing was good and we had a fun time. Its a novelty bar - glad to have experienced it but likely won't be back.

This restaurant gets by on the novelty of playing games and drinking themed cocktails. Service is spotty, and sometimes rude. We’ve been to this spot 3 times and once waited 3 hours to be seated, they said they would call us but another group was seated before us. The games are questionable and basic but usually there is something fun. If your going at a quiet time the service is alright. Food is not great, drinks are good, but not worth the price.

This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. Great atmosphere. Enjoyed going out as a family (kids early twenties) and having a relaxed and fun time. Definitely will be going back, perhaps when Game of Thrones is on.

Was a bit dissapointed by the quality of the food overall. Was a bit pricey but it balances ot because you can hang out and play board games. Service was very friendly. Not a huge fan of the high tables and chairs. More Long low tables would be cooler, like the one in the back.

Went for lunch: Service was great, good beer selection, great ambiance, but food was mediocre.

Nachos were good, but pricey. They didn't skimp on the cheese and toppings. For an additional charge, guacamole, and proteins are available. Portion size was sufficient for 4 people as an appetizer, so I can -almost- see the base $5/head target for this appetizer.

The chicken n' waffles entree was pretty rough; standard chicken strips with waffles that seemed deep fried after being made. Cut into strips for easy dipping, the waffles tasted oily/greasy with no discernable improvement in flavour or texture. In fact, I left most of them in the basket to be taken away. :(

The chicken strips themselves were overcooked and had become stringy in the thinner edges. Flavour was lacking and struck me as being at about drive-thru quality. Sides for the dish included whipped cream (with some maple syrup mixed in) and bog-standard honey-mustard. Certainly not worth the ~$16 asked.

I will certainly return as the ambiance is excellent with a well-stocked games library including most of the popular classics in addition to the ubiquitous Cards Against Humanity. (Besides, they carry one of my current favourite beers: Hoyne Brewing Co.'s Dark Matter.) Also, despite my complaints regarding the particular entree that I ordered, I will try some of their other options as well.

Although, I have a few criticisms on the food items that we ordered, I want to encourage more businesses to follow this type of non-traditional pub model. With some more attention to the menu, I could see this branch being quite the success!

The food and service was fantastic - very allergy friendly; however, we had to leave due to a pipe bursting in the back rather shortly into our evening. The server nicely informed us but as it was a special occasion (my birthday) and we'd only been seated for appies and one drink I felt more of an effort could have been made to apologize for somewhat wrecking my birthday celebrations. We didn't have any items comp-ed from our meal nor any effort put in to make some sort of apologies, nor ensure a return visit.

Four of us met for lunch before Christmas. We found it a bit loud, but learned it was not always that way and that lunchtime was usually quieter. I like the fact that you can play Monopoly for example and I appreciated the craft beer choices and the vegetarian and vegan selection. I thought the food was tasty..I had the macaroni with cashew cream instead of a dairy sauce, but I broke down and had it with bacon....delicious. My friends had the soup and liked it and over all, we enjoyed our experience at the Storm Crow. Hoping, on our next visit, that it will be quieter.

My wife will be having back surgery soon and has tremendous pain while walking or standing. We made a reservation about a week in advance for 11am. We arrived at about 5 minutes before that and were asked to stand out in the rain until the restaurant opened at 11am. How do you think I feel?

Went there for food and board games and it was great. Big selection of games and the food was very good. Nice selection of beer and cocktails. We were there for quite a while since we were playing games (about 6 hours) and the service stayed great throughout the whole time. We were never pressured to order more or to leave early. Definitely recommend this place to hang out and have some food while you play. I would recommend booking a table though as it gets very busy at peak times.

Took my wife and two daughters for a Saturday brunch and we had a blast. It's a mini-playground with so much to geek out on. The girls absolutely loved it. We ate, played games, ate some more and played more games. We were there for around 2 1/2 hours and enjoyed every minute. The food and staff were great... just an awesome experience. We'll do this once a month at least from now on.

Kudos to the Storm Crow team and Jason Kapalka for creating such a unique and fun environment for all ages.

The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly and outgoing. They treated me like a usual, even though it was my first visit. But now, I think I may now be. This place is great for all my co-workers, even though they aren't as geeky as I am. They still enjoyed the place.

Only problem was that I ordered a pint of sangria, but got a pitcher instead. The waitress at that time didn't seem to be accommodating to my plight, so I just took it. I drank nearly 3/4's of a sangria pitcher. Luckily I don't live far. But never again will I do that.

I was really excited to finally come to Stormcrow Alehouse with my friends. Our table sat 7 people. The first server we had was really great, super friendly, and she was not pushy at all. As a group of friends at a place that has numerous board games, we had warned the servers that we would be there for a while. Naturally, if you have board games, you should expect your clientele to be at their table for a while. After the first server switched over to another, we found that we kept being asked to move to a smaller table, or being hinted at "so when are you guys leaving?" That wasn't really the best to get from the servers.

I was also excited to try the Thunder Burger, as I had had a bite of it at the Commercial location and it was amazing. However the one I ordered at this location was awful. It was so dry (meat, bun, everything), and for $17 it was especially disappointing. I really should have sent it back.

My only complaint is that they did not have my reservation when I arrived, despite me having a confirmation on my phone. So, I guess my complaint is with OpenTable. We got a table anyway and the place was great. Highly recommended.

It was good. The service was good. It's summer they didn't have an AC or anything. It was sorta hot in the place. The food was good but could be improved. It all wasn't particularly exceptional. The ranch sauce was watery, and we barely got any. We asked to get more, it was still watery and we were charged without being told. I had a good time but most likely would not be back. There's nothing particularly that draws me back. Board game selection was small.

So loud. Great for board games that require minimal talking, but try to play something like Cards Against Humanity here and you'll find the noise level just doesn't work with the game. Food is alright, we had the chicken and waffles and they were decent but nothing incredibly special. The drinks are what make this place good, and creations like the Romulan Ale are rightfully well-known favourites.

Good experience overall but when we first arrived we waited close to 30 minutes for a server to come to our table before we decided to go to the bar to order our own drinks. When we went back to the bar for our second round we were told by the bartender to return to our table and wait for our server, so we did. After waiting for another 20 minutes for someone to come over and now having been seated for over an hour without a server coming to the table, we went back to the bar and explained what was happening.

After that service improved but it was a horrible first impression for of the new location.

Very good bar for geeks. The walls are covered with references to various fantasy, sci-fi, anime, and other nerd related shows, books, and games, and the selection of board games is quite good.

Food wise, the names they come up with are entertaining and the portion sizes are good. Good flavours and a selection of vegan options.

Drinks wise, they have an excellent list of beer on tap and craft brewing. An entertaining cocktail list, several of which I can say are quite good. Revenge of the Kraken and the Romulan Ale. I haven't tried their mead or wine yet.

I love the new look for Storm Crow Alehouse it is so much better suited for great gaming then its Tavern counterpart.

One criticism would be that the music is pretty unnecessary. Its a gaming bar. The extra noise is not required and seemed to jump up to club beats in the evening. It would be better if they kept the music turned down and allowed the natural noisiness of gaming take over.
