    I was so sad that my favorite gnocchi is no more! The gnocchi was doughy and not tasty. Those with me also didn’t like their dishes much. The waiter was abrupt and a bit rude.

    Strega north end- My new favorite restaurant. The Godfather plays on the wall while you eat. Sinatra croons from the speakers. There are a million chandeliers. The waitstaff is hilarious and having a great time. I had the sea bass, it was divine. Everyone else had a pasta (gnocchi, bolognese) dish and loved them. 10/10. If you are looking for an experience and not just another mediocre restaurant, check it out!

    Unfortunately the service we received was poor and not at all welcoming, bordering on rude. The quality of food was uneven, my pasta dish was very good, another guest’s chicken parm was below average; the meatball appetizer was good and the calamari poor. The cocktails were weak. Strega was recommended to us by a local who “has gone there for years” but I suspect this restaurant’s better days are in the past.

    Since the Open Table I received asked for feedback and we spent about $300 at your restaurant last night: We had a nice time dining, the food was truly delicious and service was decent enough, though, we wouldn’t have minded if our server could have been a bit more attentive and kept our water glasses full & also, it was a bit disappointing to be sat next to the bathroom, which included a loud line and bathroom door visuals/smells most of the night which was less enjoyable. We were also surprised there was no dessert menu, but rather only offered alcoholic after dinner beverages. It was just surprising for the level and style of cuisine to have no coffee and dessert offering after Italian fare or non-alcoholic options.

    Very limited menu. No dessert (!). Overpriced and food didn’t feel like anything special. I think they ride on the name and fame. I am sure there are better Italian restaurants in the area. (PS I am Italian and can recognize good Italian food)

    The food was absolutely out of this world, but I was not surprised due to being a big fan of their other restaurants. They never disappoint. The only thing that was upsetting was the almost hour + wait after having a reservation. The manager Phil did an awesome job though making sure my family and I had an incredible experience. Would go again, and will totally get the “that’s a more” again.

    We had a reservation or so we thought. Long line at the door into the noisy, busy street. Upon checking in, we were told it would be a short wait. In reality, we stood on line with all of the others for 30 minutes before deciding to give up. The restaurant was loud and chaotic, certainly not anything worth waiting for.

    I had an 11:30 brunch reservation and was not seated until 12:30. The hostess confused my party and a walk-up party. The walk-ups were seated first. No apologies. We were eventually seated at a card table next to the bathroom. Luckily, we were able to move. The hostess and manager were jaded and knew that if we walked away they could just fill our table. That all being said, our waitress was so sweet and attentive.

    Be prepared, it is very loud at brunch. The music was good, but deafeningly loud. Our app came out within 5 minutes of us ordering it but it took nearly an hour for the rest of our food to come out. The food tasted great, until we found a hair in one of our meals. I honestly think they were having an off day but we will not be returning.

    I sent a email with my concerns 1. We had reservations for 7:15pm, which is already a late dinner for me and my husband as we usually eat earlier. Not only was the reservation not ready ( which was not the issue) but while waiting to be seated, at least 3-4 other couples were seated who had the same time reservation or a later one as me and my husband and one couple did not even have reservations. I know this because we waited by the host stand out front and could hear the conversations. 2. When we were finally seated at 7:45pm. We were placed by the bathroom in a small spot (not the issue either as I understand it’s a small venue). The issue was, we waiting around 15 minutes to be acknowledged by the waiter or bus boy. 3. The waiter was rude, impatient and not kind at first and we could barely understand him. (I am Italian, so I appreciate his accent) but he seemed extremely annoyed when my husband asked for Hendricks and tonic. We then placed an order for an appetizer. 4. After eating our appetizer, we waited around a half an hour to place a dinner order. Again, the waiter seemed annoyed when I asked if I could replace the type of pasta that came with my meal (pollo parmigiana). I asked what types of pasta can I substitute with and was given a rather rude hand gesture to look and the menu and was told “we have everything”. 5. Dinner was delicious, so food is not the complaint. The waiter did bring us an extra drink as a way of apologizing for the “wait”. And although it was a nice gesture, we did not drink it as we were driving and had already had our limit of alcohol. I feel it was a complete waste and felt terrible accepting it but he was not having it. He insisted we take the drink. 6. It was mine and my husband’s 25th wedding anniversary and stated that on the reservation but it was never acknowledged so why as the question of the reservation “are you celebrating anything special”. I can’t for the rest of the e-mail

    We were a party of 5 for a birthday celebration. We arrived on time for our reservation, but our table was ready after 45 minutes of waiting on the walkway!!!! There was another party of 4 with the same problem. They clearly overbook significantly. They never provided any updates, and when we called the manager after 45 minutes past our reservation time, she could not articulate an excuse, and no apology was offered!!! The food was ok, and the waitress was very kind. The music was way too loud! The whole experience was very disappointing.

    I had never been here before. Ambiance was fun. They seated us right away. Staff was friendly enough; I could tell some customers really enjoyed them. We did not interact much. There was a singer with a fantastic voice serenading folks! The Antipasto tasted and looked like store bought salami, with a few small cheese wedges and olives. The whipped ricotta was a bit odd - there was so much of it, and I felt like it needed an accompaniment, like bread or toast. We did not eat much of it. I should have gotten the lamb chops, but opted for the pollo limoncello. The chicken was dry but tasty, and the pasta was good and the sauce delicious. We did not stay for dessert.

    Despite having a reservation for 7:15pm, we were not seated until 8:00pm. We then tried to make a meager supply of breadsticks last while we waited for one hour after ordering for our food (one dish per person!) to arrive. The quality of the food was fine...not particularly commendable. The noise level was terrible: too many hard surfaces, no curtains, cushions, upholstery to baffle the sound (from fellow diners, from the nondescript background music, wait staff, and from the busy street outside.). Thankfully, for future visits to this vicinity of Boston, other options abound!
