   Very good food. Nice place. Service is typically fair and for these prices it should be much better. I almost always tip 20 -25 percent, but last night I reluctantly gave 15 percent, in retrospect, should have tipped 5 - 10 percent. Front desk and hostesses need much work with several things.

   Awesome Brunch Experience. Food was delicious and came out fast. Server was so friendly and asked if we had any food allergies and was soo accommodating. Fun experience. It is very loud so this isn't a quiet place for brunch..

   Hostess was really not helpful. I almost left before we actually got sat. Server was amazing. Super attentive and friendly. Restaurant was filled with obnoxious young groups (bachelor/ bachelorette?) so if that’s your vibe, go nuts. Otherwise, I would prob only come during off times.

   So noisy and the background sound is disturbing and very hard to communicate between guests. They could get a better sound system. A $3.42 surcharge was added to the bill without any explanation. They charged for a one drink that was brought by mistake (but left at the table) Advice: thoroughly read your bill before charging your card.

    Our waiter was rushing us from the moment we arrived. We weren’t even finished with our plates and he started collecting them without even asking if we were done. I understand that the goal is to get as many customers through the door as possible but the customer experience can’t take the hit. The waiter rolled his eyes numerous times when we were done eating and asked for more water. He also didn’t ask if we wanted dessert or anything else - just gave us the check and said cash or card. Super unprofessional & unacceptable. Especially when our bill was over $200.

    So noisy that I jumped a few times. No one to stop the loud group of ladies, as if they were in their own backyard screaming and laughing. I understand people are out there for a good time but at lease show respect to others in the restaurant. I feel like I was robed and forced to witness this chaos. Very unpleasant experience. For now, I probably won’t go back to this restaurant.

    The female Manager was not cooperative with our group of 8 people. We had two different reservations of 4 people and refused to combine our two tables together even though we were sitting next to each other. She was also very dry and not pleasant in dealing with us on Mother’s Day.

    Overall, another great experience here! They keep the mimosas flowing and the small plates coming! The service was great, and the vibes were pretty good. The DJ played a great mix of songs, but I could see how it could be a touch loud for some folks. We just danced along with our bottomless mimosas!

    I have been coming to SumoMaya for years since it opened, but this time was for Mother’s Day, and it was a complete nightmare. We didn’t get water to our table for about 10 minutes after sitting, they don’t have an option for physical menus (when we didn’t want to be on our phone for Mother’s Day) and then once we did all of a sudden the music was so loud I couldn’t even hear my mom sitting at my own table. I talked to the manager and he pretty much smirked at me and laughed, saying he couldn’t do anything and that the owner “likes it this loud”. So rude. People couldn’t even enjoy their breakfast with their parents who are older and cant hear as well…

    Our food was delicious Would definitely make it a regular if I lived in Scottsdale As we are over 50 the music was a little loud for our taste but the service and food did not disappoint Everything we had was delicious from the calamari and edamame to the fish tacos and street corn as well as the salmon and broccolini Our waitress was excellent and the food came out beautifully presented 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Our server started off let us know she would be a little slow because she partied too much the night before…. Not something you should share with your customers, even if they are young. Service was good in the beginning then gradually became slower and disorganized. It took 30 minutes and asking 3 times to get bacon and eggs brought to our table. When it finally arrived it was short one portion. The pad thai was not good. It was drowning in a watery, bland sauce. The wagyu steak and eggs was definitely lower quality than my last visit here. Great for all you can eat but likely will not be back again for it.

    Our waitress was the best and so sweet. The music was wayyyyyyy too loud. I was screaming just to talk to my friend sitting next to me. Even the wait staff and other patrons commented how loud it was. Would have spent more time and money if it hadn’t been so loud.

    We were pretty disappointed with our experience tonight. After calling ahead to let them know we would be a few minutes late, they proceeded to give away our table when we were 3 minutes late. Our party was already planning on splitting up, but they were able to reseat us but told us we had to be out within an hour and ten minutes because of another party. The entire time both parts of our party were eating there were multiple open tables near both areas, so we easily could have sit together. Also after leaving at the hour and ten minute mark we waited outside for the rest of the part to finish and they didn’t resit or clean the table the entire time we were waiting. Food was fine.

    This is the noisiest restaurant I’ve ever been to - we were a table of 4 on a Thursday night at had to shout at one another to talk. There were at least 4 bachelorette parties in the space so it’s a party scene. It’s a young crowd - definitely not for families or a romantic dinner. With the background music it had more of a club feel than restaurant.

    This place is usually excellent however we experienced the worst service. Half the time he was not available one person in the party got their food 15 minutes after the everyone else and no apologies just plain bad attitude. Usually a manger checks in to see if things are ok. Further it was a birthday celebration. This place was one of my favorites and I am done with Sumo Maya. Even the food at best was ok.

    Sumo Maya is my favorite restaurant in town! Highly recommend the pomegranate guacamole, Chilean sea bass, mushroom tacos, avocado fried rice, and shaking beef. Also - the weekend bottomless brunch is amazing and a good value!

    Brian our waiter made the experience even more SUPERB!! The vibe itself is amazing! The sushi is beyond fresh! You can tell when people use excellent quality and cuts of fish! This place is it! Brian knew the menu well and assisted with guiding our indecisive moments, and he was patient with the delivery! We’re definitely coming back to this place!     I went for the brunch, it wasn’t that good I really loved my enchilada entree but was pretty full by the time I got it from all the other mediocre things they give you before that. The worst part I couldn’t take that delicious leftover enchilada home. No take away which I understand but felt like such a waste. It’s WAY too loud of music you’re in a straight up club while eating. I’m not a fan. The waiter was on top of everything and did an excellent job.
