   Quality of sushi was fantastic however I was disappointed that the pickled ginger tasted like the stuff you can buy at the store and the wasabi was not all real wasabi (it was the stuff that tastes like horseradish). I just think if I’m paying $200+ per person the quality of the sides should be good as well. I was also surprised that the sushi chefs did not interact with us aside from telling us what we were eating. Most sushi omakase we have experienced where we sat at the counter, the chef would at least converse with us. The sake recommendation was fantastic, I applaud the waiter that recommended it to us. Overall, sushi was good, but would I pay $200+ a person for it? Probably not however it was good to experience at least once

   Dinner was outstanding as usual. Presentation, flavors, taste were excellent. Seiji and the sushi staff behind the counter as well as the wait staff, Fano & Tate all did a wonderful job. Cant wait to return.

   The food served was phenomenal. I have eaten a lot of sushi in my life and this was by far the best sushi that I have ever had. The chef really puts together something special and you will truly enjoy it. It’s not a cheap meal if you got a big appetite but I’d say it’s reasonable for the quality of food.

   Price transparency is much needed! I was presented a drink menu and that was in. Food started coming out since it was omakase and then I’m paying $170. What a surprise. The food is worth the value - stating the price upfront would be appreciated.

   This restaurants omakase is very sauce based. Some are good, but it gets to be too much halfway through the courses. Good first time try but wouldn’t go again.

    The Omakase was an amazing experience - the staff was fantastic and the sushi chef was outstanding. Each dish was perfectly paired and presented. The food literally melted in your mouth. I can only say “OMG,” that I will recommend this to my friends and that I look forward to returning!

    When you park you worry about the area and the restaurant being in a strip mall with people sleeping by the door. Once you step in it is tastefully decorated, dark, but not too dark, and the noise level is perfect (pretty quiet). The Omakase we were served was 13 dishes and almost all excellent. The service was quick and attentive. Hats off to the chef(s)! Will recommend this place to other Omakase fans.

    Absolutely phenomenal experience at the sushi counter omakase. Each course was mouthwatering. Fish was expertly prepared. Highly recommend the house special sake. Will return.

    Food was ok, but way overpriced. I spent $450 without tip for 2 people, typical price for good Omakase but here, location wasn’t good, ambience was old and service was just ok. Definitely better Omakase out there.

    Very creative sushi prepared beautifully. Omakase, means the chef decides what to prepare, so you may get something completely different. It is expensive, though.

    Wasn’t sure what to expect when we got there, but needless to say it was very good. The service was great as well. As soon as we finished a plate, they cleared it and brought out the next course. They also refilled our glasses regularly. The fish was literally “melt-in-your-mouth” quality. I wish I had taken photos but they have a strict no phone policy but I believe that only applies to calls. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a place in Waikiki with great Omakase, I highly recommend Sushi Sasabune!
