Sat down waited for twenty minutes for a waitress. It was a special day for me (anniversary). I heard great things about this restaurant and wanted to try it. I feel the hospitality can be better.
Me and my fiance enjoyed it.Food was everything. Our server was very good.
I was looking forward to my this visit. It took almost an hour to receive a round of rum and coke, along with one appetizer. The calamari should be plated with lemon, it’s seafood. I couldn’t try anything else because they took too long, and my event was set to start at 730pm. I feel the waitress should have been more vocal in expressing the slow cook times. Telling me 3 times that my food will be right out is not accurate. Not a horrible app experience, but definitely a waste of my time. It is very obvious they are under new ownership.
The food is great the music is great it's a little loud but it is a day party for brunch.
After being seated, we waited 30 minutes without service. I asked the manager if we could at least get some water. The manager was very apologetic, apparently there was a server miscommunication. ( the restaurant was less than half full, not particularly busy). The manager offered us a free appetizer. Bang bang shrimp was delicious. A little later when the server refilled our water, he refilled the glasses from a carafe of sprite. We did not have the heart to tell him about the mistake because he was trying very hard to make up for the earlier error. The restaurant is lovely, all the food was great and the wait staff is working hard to provide great service.
The food is pretty good here. Service is good as well. It’s a good idea to make a reservation tho.
This restaurant is a gem in Atlanta! The fish was cooked perfectly and the service was exceptional.
There were about 4 items that my guest wanted that was printed on the menu but had been discontinued. ☹️
It was great. We recently moved to Atlanta and this was a great date night spot and birthday dinner
I had very high expectations for this place and was extremely underwhelmed. My boyfriend and I went to Sweet Auburn Seafood and had a reservation for 9PM. We asked if we could sit by the band and were told no. We were sat at a 2 seater small table in the back by the window and my boyfriend asked if we could sit at one of the open tables that were not next to the window and was told we couldn't sit there because we were a party of 2 and those were for the parties of 4. We sat down and the waitress sat 3 parties of 2 people at 3 tables of 4 seats where we had asked to sit, so she blatantly lied about it. We ordered a Seafood Spinach appetizer, crab cake with sweet potatoes and my boyfriend ordered the lamb chops with kale and truffle fries. We waited 35 minutes and our entrees came out. The appetizer never made it to the table. My boyfriend asked for his lamb chops to be medium and they were completely well done. The truffle fries were regular fries that they threw some parmesan cheese on top. The only thing good about the meal were the sweet potatoes and sautéed kale, which is why I gave two stars. The manager came over and apologized for our meal almost after we were done eating and offered to remake the lamb chops. The food took so long to come out we didn't even bother getting them remade. We will not be returning and if you want good live music, food and drinks, go to Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint instead.
The decor was very nice, and we love a live band. The only disappointment was the with the Lobster Pot Pie selection.
I warn I am a little bias coming from New England/Boston, but I expect jumbo shrimp and not very tiny can shrimp in a dish like that in it's respective price range.
However the crust was home made and gravy and was overall delicious; the best ever had. The bang bang shrimp and crabcake, again delicious. Oh, and I wish they didn't run out of peach cobbler.
We made reservations for a birthday dinner and were seated in the back corner away from the live band. Several menu items were not available. Poor service with manager not available due to being the cook. Also the hostess had to double as our waitress. Took an hour to receive our entrees. Appetizers were not good. Spinach salad came out missing cheese and oranges with no explanation from the kitchen. Did not receive refills on drinks. When we finally spoke to the manager he provided a discount on the bill and stated that we would receive a dessert on the house. When we ordered the dessert we were told they were out of that too. I will never return here again as this was our first night out after having a baby three months ago. I’m very disappointed in the experience and would not recommend it to anyone.
I made a 6:00pm reservation but didn't get seated until 6:30-6:45
It was my first time brunch i love the concept but my server she meant well but service was very slow from her we watch people come after us eat and leave we had reservations 1245 we didnt eat until almost 2 and i ordered a beverage from the bar georgia tea omg it was good but i got it like 35 min later i will come again though im gonna try the evening
It was a club atmosphere. Totally unexpected!
Server was surprised to hear it was my birthday even though it was on the reservation. She rebounded quickly though with the most delicious chocolate lava cake and beautifully decorated plate.
Outstanding place to take your loved one too.
Aside from being a bit pricey we were quite well satisfied.
They said only selling fried food menu was short and expensive
The food was great. The lobster pot pie was delicious. The service was kind of slow and they didn't have a full house, but our server was very kind and a delight.
I love supporting black owned business. Add to your list of restaurants to visit in ATL
They had a valet standing at the entrance to a small garage that was really for self parking. We parked ourselves... only to be told on the way into the restaurant that “Valet is $10.”
Inside the service was just ok. The seafood nachos came out somewhat soggy and not hot - almost as if they had them already fixed and waiting to be microwaved. Most of the seafood tasted “tired” and of low quality.
Had the Chesapeake which wasn’t what I expected - it was crab cakes Benedict - but I assure you I was not disappointed!! The crab cakes were amazing - made with tons of crab and seasoned perfectly. I cannot stand overcooked eggs, and there were perfect. Hubs had the chicken and waffle; chicken was perfectly cooked and the waffle was light and fluffy. Service was good. There was a dj and it was a little louder than I expected but not crazy. This place is the real deal for southern food done well.
Server did not escort us to our table she just pointed and said that’s your table up there in the back
kept calling us boo
slammed the appetizer plates on the table
Mixed up orders
At the end of our lunch she approached the table and announced the amount of our bill (to no one in particular) and automatically included a 20% tip.
Did not wait for a break in our conversations, just approached the table and started talking. Asking questions, or whatever.
Just very unprofessional, inexperienced, inappropriate attitude and demeanor. and rude. Needs basic training.
The floor was sticky as candy and almost pulled my shoe off. The service was slow and noise level was very high. I was looking for a nice quiet and clean place to eat. That was not it
Hosted a business lunch meeting for five people on a Monday. Half of the items on the menu were 86d. When they were out of chips, the server only asked one of my guests what side they’d like as a replacement— sent out random sides for my other guests. I had the kale salad with salmon. The salmon was way over cooked and resembled saw dust. The dressing had spoiled and tasted like something was wrong with it. But since the server never checked on us after he had delivered food (in two trips over ten minutes), I had to try and eat around the dressing. Very slow service, especially for lunch. Don’t waste your time and money here.
Awesome place to visit. Good food, music and vibes.
Having a DJ in such a small area with large speakers is a bit much. It felt more like a club; spent the entire time yelling at the person next to me and repeating things to the waitress who was struggling to hear our requests.
Fantastic food and amazing service. Highly recommended to anyone who loves seafood. Our waiter was amazing. Everything on the menu looked great and I couldn't make a decision so I asked our waiter to decide and surprise me. His choice of Shrimp & Grits did not disappoint. I would go back in a minute. Definite "go to" spot while in Atlanta.
Great service and great food but loud and noisy.
Poor service. Not a pleasant atmosphere. Food was okay.
Shrimp and grits too expensive for 4 pieces of shrimp and 2 slices of sausage. Service was soso, prices way too high and it enough food options
Ordered the seafood nachos and they were just average. It took a long time to deliver to the table which could account for the Chips being a bit soggy. Gumbo was very tasty. Dinner was very good. Had the kale salad with salmon. Blackened Salmon with asparagus. Nice portions.
My guest and I arrived a few minutes early for our 5:30 reservation. Shortly thereafter another party of 2 arrived with their toddler. Prior to seating us we got a group briefing that entree orders will not be taken until 5:30. The hostess proceeded to seat the party of 2&1/2 as she referred to them and then referencing us as party of 2. Mind you, I gave my name at the time I made the reservation.
We took out time looking over the menu and we both ordered appetizers and the stuffed flounder. The waiter returned shortly to say they were all out of the flounder. No problem. My guest ordered lobster. After finishing our appetizers the waiter returned to say the lobster had gone bad. And by the way... they were all out of ranch dressing for my salad.
As a courtesy, please let guests know what is not available prior to taking orders.
We booked the reservation at 3:00 we were told that the kitchen stops at 3:30 after we arrived. They should only take reservations until 2:30 if the kitchen stops at 3:30. The hostess couldn’t be bothered and they were so packed we didn’t get seated until 3:30.
Food was great-seafood omelette was fresh and delicious!
My family and I came for brunch before going to battle of the bands and it was awesome! They have their own parking, service was great (thanks Antonette) and the food was delicious. They also had a DJ that was incredible and fit the brunch perfectly.
Many options on the menu not available and no longer offered
I would recommend Sweet Auburn Seafood. They had a brunch menu when we went on MLK day which was more limited for seafood options which was the main reason we went. However, I ordered the gumbo and shirmp and grits. Friend had the chicken and waffles (which came with 2 shrimp).
Gumbo was good. It was a tad lukewarm which wasn't the right temp but it had nice flavor and amount of seafood. The shrimp and grits was good but super rich cream sauce that overwhelmed the grits. Less would have been more for the amount of sauch. The shrimp were big and fresh and def the star of the dish. My friend liked her dish. Service was good. The DJ spinning 90s hits made the experience more fun.
I enjoyed it. The waitress with the low blonde hair was fabulous
