Sweet Auburn Seafood
It was a club atmosphere. Totally unexpected!
Aside from being a bit pricey we were quite well satisfied.
They said only selling fried food menu was short and expensive
The food was great. The lobster pot pie was delicious. The service was kind of slow and they didn't have a full house, but our server was very kind and a delight.
I love supporting black owned business. Add to your list of restaurants to visit in ATL
They had a valet standing at the entrance to a small garage that was really for self parking. We parked ourselves... only to be told on the way into the restaurant that “Valet is $10.”
Inside the service was just ok. The seafood nachos came out somewhat soggy and not hot - almost as if they had them already fixed and waiting to be microwaved. Most of the seafood tasted “tired” and of low quality.
Had the Chesapeake which wasn’t what I expected - it was crab cakes Benedict - but I assure you I was not disappointed!! The crab cakes were amazing - made with tons of crab and seasoned perfectly. I cannot stand overcooked eggs, and there were perfect. Hubs had the chicken and waffle; chicken was perfectly cooked and the waffle was light and fluffy. Service was good. There was a dj and it was a little louder than I expected but not crazy. This place is the real deal for southern food done well.
Server did not escort us to our table she just pointed and said that’s your table up there in the back
kept calling us boo
slammed the appetizer plates on the table
Mixed up orders
At the end of our lunch she approached the table and announced the amount of our bill (to no one in particular) and automatically included a 20% tip.
Did not wait for a break in our conversations, just approached the table and started talking. Asking questions, or whatever.
Just very unprofessional, inexperienced, inappropriate attitude and demeanor. and rude. Needs basic training.
The floor was sticky as candy and almost pulled my shoe off. The service was slow and noise level was very high. I was looking for a nice quiet and clean place to eat. That was not it
Hosted a business lunch meeting for five people on a Monday. Half of the items on the menu were 86d. When they were out of chips, the server only asked one of my guests what side they’d like as a replacement— sent out random sides for my other guests. I had the kale salad with salmon. The salmon was way over cooked and resembled saw dust. The dressing had spoiled and tasted like something was wrong with it. But since the server never checked on us after he had delivered food (in two trips over ten minutes), I had to try and eat around the dressing. Very slow service, especially for lunch. Don’t waste your time and money here.
Awesome place to visit. Good food, music and vibes.
Having a DJ in such a small area with large speakers is a bit much. It felt more like a club; spent the entire time yelling at the person next to me and repeating things to the waitress who was struggling to hear our requests.
Fantastic food and amazing service. Highly recommended to anyone who loves seafood. Our waiter was amazing. Everything on the menu looked great and I couldn't make a decision so I asked our waiter to decide and surprise me. His choice of Shrimp & Grits did not disappoint. I would go back in a minute. Definite "go to" spot while in Atlanta.
Great service and great food but loud and noisy.
Poor service. Not a pleasant atmosphere. Food was okay.
Shrimp and grits too expensive for 4 pieces of shrimp and 2 slices of sausage. Service was soso, prices way too high and it enough food options
Ordered the seafood nachos and they were just average. It took a long time to deliver to the table which could account for the Chips being a bit soggy. Gumbo was very tasty. Dinner was very good. Had the kale salad with salmon. Blackened Salmon with asparagus. Nice portions.
My guest and I arrived a few minutes early for our 5:30 reservation. Shortly thereafter another party of 2 arrived with their toddler. Prior to seating us we got a group briefing that entree orders will not be taken until 5:30. The hostess proceeded to seat the party of 2&1/2 as she referred to them and then referencing us as party of 2. Mind you, I gave my name at the time I made the reservation.
We took out time looking over the menu and we both ordered appetizers and the stuffed flounder. The waiter returned shortly to say they were all out of the flounder. No problem. My guest ordered lobster. After finishing our appetizers the waiter returned to say the lobster had gone bad. And by the way... they were all out of ranch dressing for my salad.
As a courtesy, please let guests know what is not available prior to taking orders.
We booked the reservation at 3:00 we were told that the kitchen stops at 3:30 after we arrived. They should only take reservations until 2:30 if the kitchen stops at 3:30. The hostess couldn’t be bothered and they were so packed we didn’t get seated until 3:30.
Food was great-seafood omelette was fresh and delicious!
My family and I came for brunch before going to battle of the bands and it was awesome! They have their own parking, service was great (thanks Antonette) and the food was delicious. They also had a DJ that was incredible and fit the brunch perfectly.
Many options on the menu not available and no longer offered
I would recommend Sweet Auburn Seafood. They had a brunch menu when we went on MLK day which was more limited for seafood options which was the main reason we went. However, I ordered the gumbo and shirmp and grits. Friend had the chicken and waffles (which came with 2 shrimp).
Gumbo was good. It was a tad lukewarm which wasn't the right temp but it had nice flavor and amount of seafood. The shrimp and grits was good but super rich cream sauce that overwhelmed the grits. Less would have been more for the amount of sauch. The shrimp were big and fresh and def the star of the dish. My friend liked her dish. Service was good. The DJ spinning 90s hits made the experience more fun.
I enjoyed it. The waitress with the low blonde hair was fabulous
First time at Sweet Auburn and was very happy with food and service. Will be back!!
The food was bland and overpriced. I expected better. I went for brunch 2 years ago and the food was great, bring back the chef.
Happy New Year!
RON IS AMAZING!! Dj played the best of the best. Food is impeccable. Do not miss this venue
The food was phenomenal, I had two of the Hennessy strawberry margaritas they were delicious little string but good the prices could be a little unadjusted. There were four of us and our tab ended up being $299. I feel you all could come down on your prices a little. Our drinks were $90
I didn’t realize that we showed up for brunch so the menu was a bit short but the food was good and great service by our server Ron.
The Server charged my card 3 dollars more than i gave her for the tip not cool at all
Our third time here and they’ve yet to disappoint! The fried salmon is our go to and it was delish! The cheese grits are mouth-watering; the Arnold Palmer, perfect! The music can be a bit much, but I’d still rate it high!
They should train their wait staff to be more efficient.
So let me start by saying this was a great place for me an my fiancé anniversary we loved the live music. I would give it 5 stars but you guys over charged my card. My bill was 82$ And I left a 7$ tip in CASH an My statement says you charged me 96.14$ .. I put lines through my receipt so I’m confused how I got charged 96$ when my receipt says 82$ nobody is answering my call. so that means my server added her own tip I’m not sure what Happened but I’m not pleased. It for two people and I got the lobster pot pie which wasn’t even worth it to be honest it was way to soupy. My fiancé got the shrimp and grits an it was good ..I didn’t complain though because I didn’t want to ruin my anniversary that night. And I would love to go back but I just want to know why I was over charged,. And then another server that wasn’t even mine asked for my ID because I got a dusse margarita and I was offended because MY server already checked my ID. She just randomly stopped and asked me for my ID .....And I told her that my server already checked my ID she gave me a stank face. I’m not even the type to leave long reviews I just want an answer !!
Wasn't all that I've heard about.
Average food at best.
Hidden gem, the desk clerk at the Hilton Gardens Inn recommended. Food was awesome and so was the service. It was quite but we were there at 11:00 in the morning
My husband and I visited here with my mother n law who was visiting for the holidays. Last time she visited, we came to this restaurant and she enjoyed the live music. The stuffed flounder and mashed potatoes were AMAZING. It was enough for two people. The service was great and ambiance is nice.
We went to brunch for my birthday. The service was really good and the food was great. I got the seafood pot pie. I would definitely come back!
Valet parking is $10. Very noisy with no acoustics to muffle sounds. Service was very slow and several missteps with drinks (small wine/beer selection) and food. Each of us in our party felt we could cook our dishes better than the chef. Out of Jambalaya for 2 days. Southern cuisine--not so much. This is no Mary Mac's or Pitty Pat's Porch.
We had a great time, the food was very good. I did not realize dinner did not start until 5pm instead of 4pm it was still lunch time. Unusual. I wanted to try the soups still on menu, was told you no longer serve them. It all worked out. My Mom enjoyed her birthday meal, cake and ice cream.
Dinner was delicious and service was great!
