Delicious brunch. Took a bit to get drinks etc but service was goo
Wonderful service, amazing menu that was executed beautifully. We really appreciated the precautions taken to make for a safe environment (call earlier in the day to remind about id and vaccination card) and then the request upon entry. Happy to support such a fine longstanding DC establishment.
Very nice dinner, pleasant atmosphere, especially on a date.
Great food and atmosphere, it’s been at least 20years since I’ve been here, and it’s still a great spot.
They made celebrating our anniversary, very special. Thank you staff!
It is wonderful that the the Tabard In is still in operation when so many places have closed. The decor is so interesting, with many antiques and beautiful paintings, the food is delicious and the service can’t be matched. A folding screen around our table really helped to cut down on noise and to add to the privacy. Well worth a visit!
This was a wonderful cozy place for breakfast and brunch. This may have been when we visited (a Friday) but before 12p is very quiet (no white noise in the room), so quiet that you have to whisper and may feel uncomfortable conversing if you are on the shyer side since you can hear everyone and vice versa. There is outdoor seating but it’s too cold for that this time of year even with a heater. Once 11:30/12 hits the noise level increases or at least regular noise level may seem louder there because of the echo or lack of white noise. The food was tasty, we enjoyed the omelette and the home fries were wonderful. I loved the Gouda grits!! My partner has a much sweeter tooth than I did and got the Chicken Churro Waffles which was too sweet for me although the chicken was super yummy. The orange juice tasted fresh and the mimosa was perfect. Unfortunately they didn’t have any hot chocolate which was a bummer since I always get for this for breakfast. Overall it was a great experience, my partner though it was the best breakfast he had so I give 5 stars even though there were a few things I would’ve liked better. I still highly recommend.
The ambiance was lovely and our server was great and really let us take our time. Our drinks were delicious and so was dessert!! Seriously yummy cake. However we were seriously underwhelmed with of the food. The salads were on par with what I make at home (and I'm a 23 year old), the pork belly was just okay, the rockfish was overly-citrusy and the skin was not crispy. Overall I would not even pay half the price of the meal for its quality. Would definitely recommend Tabard Inn for drinks and dessert but I can't recommend the food.
A++++++++++. Every morsel of food was perfect as usual. If only all restaurants in DC were half as good we would be living in heaven.
It wasn't clear to me why our table was put in a hallway rather than one of the dining rooms. The hotel is very charming and the food was delicious.
Ive eaten here a few times but my dish
Very charming spot with a fireplace for drinks on a cold evening
This was our first time at Tabbard Inn in over 12 years. We lived it. Very intimate
Environment with a quiet calming ambiance. I had the veal chop and my wife the halibut; both outstanding. We shared the buratta which was superb.
Love dining in the back patio and appreciated how much space we had. Wonderful service and fantastic food! Will be in again, thank you.
The Tabard Inn is exactly what it advertises itself as. An ambiance that makes you feel like you've stepped into a little bit of history. No TVs in the rooms. Great food and service in the restaurant. Friendly people. I could easily imagine artists staying their for months on end in the 1920s. I would recommend it to anyone.
Fantastic fancy but unfussy dinner
I was hosting a small group so I was happy to have a separate room where were could talk and hear each other, to say nothing if trying to avoid the latest covid wave! The food was uniformly good, nice portions and reasonably priced. The server was very attentive, and everything was served in a timely manner All around, it was a lively evening, and I’m glad I selected the Tabard Inn.
Vacationing from Nashville. The mimosas and the watercress salad were divine! The chicken and waffles were just spicy enough.
The service was spectacular!
The Tabard never disappoints. Christmas Eve is a tradition for us; the food, service, and ambience are all five stars. I’m always impressed with their filet option, and I’ve never had a bad experience on my many visits over the years. Kudos Tabard on another enjoyable Christmas Eve.
What a wonderful evening with my daughters before going to the theater. Wonderful food, terrific cocktails, friendly staff, and an incredible atmosphere. I love love love the Tabard Inn.
We liked it. The partitions we're very nice given the space to make for a more private or romantic dining experience
I had another enjoyable dinner at Tabard Inn. The ambience is truly quaint - an oasis in the heart of a bustling city. Service is attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommended!
I love the tabard Inn. Always can count on good service, fresh food and a great atmosphere.
We had an absolutely delightful brunch. This is such a cute and welcoming place. We are even considering a staycation as it seemed very nice! We had the egg and ham Benedict as well as the homemade donuts and it was very filling and delicious. 100% recommend
Superb spot for a quiet brunch on a Saturday morning.
A+ atmosphere, food and wine, always a great time!
Another good lunch in Tabard's pretty setting. A true gem
Great service in one of Washington, DC historic hotel’s restaurant.
Very disappointed. I had the Asian pear and feta salad and it was all arugula and frisee. Good luck finding the promised feta and other ingredients. We were told the only tea available was green tea but after insisting that they check again, a bag of chamomile was offered.
This is a very special historic Inn Restaurant. Both the indoor and outdoor settings with their art work, the cozy fire inside and the 9/10 closed-in-garden are a romantic treat. Unfortunately, the heaters in the garden are not really adequate, even on a day that is only moderately cold, so we all had to wear our coats. The food ranges from gourmet outstanding to very good. But I would highly recommend the Tabard for any and all special occasions and/or a just a lovely way to have a great meal.
Although there were heaters over table we needed our coats
Our waitress was very nice but a bit befuddled..she seemed to be overwhelmed..
Awesome meal a little pricey. Enjoyed every moment and bite
Really nice for a cozy brunch. Not rushed by staff. Good food, good service! Will be going back.
Other than our table not being ready for over 30 minutes everything else was fabulous. Beautiful restaurant ! Food was great ! Service terrific.
It was a fabulous birthday lunch with a delicious shared cobbler for dessert!
Can’t been the ambiance and while the food was good, it is overpriced.
We had dinner in the lounge by the fire. The room was a little crowded for covid, but the seating was well spaced. The food was delicious (we split a steak and 3 vegetables), and the ambiance was gorgeous, warm and cozy. A unique historical place and wonderful experience.
Favorite place for dinner or brunch in DC! One of a kind,
