Came in for a very early dinner. To say they were accommodating is an understatement. They allowed us happy hour prices without being at the bar to start. Got the short rib with the pavé app which was delicious. Girlfriend thought it was an 8.5 outta 10. A good pineapple gin and tonic was had as well.
Besides the amazing hospitality, what is bringing me back is the cavetelli. This is a 10 out of 10 dish. Perfectly balanced, rich without being overpowering. I had to restrain myself from ordering a second.
We also ordered a ragu dish that didn’t seem on par with the cavetelli, we ended up barely eating it. We gave a bit of feedback to our great serve Jonny and the manager Paulina took amazing care of us, a lot of (unnecessary but extremely appreciated) generosity on the part of the restaurant. Would definitely recommend for a flavorful, fresh take in Birmingham. I’ll definitely be back.
Awesome, attentive service and lovely food. A memorable dining experience, not just a wonderful dinner. We highly recommend and will return soon. Loved it!
Very nice setting, great service and fantastic food!
Horrible waitress. Rude and disrespectful. I’ve gone here for years and my 40th surprise party was thrown here. I have NEVER experienced such an awful time at Tallulah. Very sad that it happened. I will NOT allow her to wait on us EVER again! I will however return because we LOVE the restaurant.
It seems like they added too many tables and there is very little room between the chairs and tables. I was trying to maneuver my chair and the seated person in back of me did nothing !!! I am tall; however' not large so that was a good thing. There were two large groups in back of us on both sides so perhaps it was an unusual set up to accommodate the large parties
Nice small restaurant with great food and a good wine list. Ambiance is quiet good and service is just perfect. Last night music was not laud, loved that, the place tends to be crowded but I rather hear people talking than laud music. It would be perfect if there was no TV. Overall I like this place and it is already in my preferred list! Highly recommendable.
Best restaurant in Birmingham. Service, food and ambiance is always fantastic.
Food was excellent The noise level was extremely high which made it difficult to converse
Food was great and a good deal. Music was way too loud, we had to yell across the table. The restaurant was loud enough before the musicians set up.
The food and service were excellent as usual. Every time we’ve dined there the menu has offered great selections at a very reasonable price.
Excellent food and service. Music on Thursday. A bit crowded and noisy but doesn't interfere with atmosphere. A winner.
My wife and I enjoyed a very tasty Valentines Day dinner at Tallulah’s! We always enjoy a great meal and nice glass of wine... or two at Tallulah’s.
Doesn’t get better than Mario and his team at Tallulah.
We dined at Tallulah last week. There were four of us. Almost everything was good. It would have been nice to know the appetizer we ordered for the four of us was enough for one person. It was their ahi tuna app which was a special. we all laughed how small it was. Regardless, the waitress should have mentioned that when we ordered it. I've been to Tallulah before and the food and ambiance is always good. This time the service was just a little off.
The occasion was Restaurant Week I ordered off the special RW menu and selected the lamb ragu which was excellent. My husband ordered the 8
Always an enjoyable time. Amazing food (esp the octopus appetizer, Greek salad, duck breast), Andrew mixes the perfect martini (but they have a fabulous wine list, too) the service is smooth (and charming George and Jolla), all in a beautiful, intimate space. We eat here often- this restaurant would fit right in if it were NYC!
Wait staff very attentive with excellent knowledge of wines, foods and preparation.
Greatly enjoyed evening.
Disappointing Evening at Talullah.
We were looking forward to returning based on a previous good experience. The restaurant was very busy - totally full, and as a consequence service was relatively slow. Food was good when it arrived - to their usual high standard, however what really spoiled the evening was a very strong cooking/frying smell from the kitchen. This was not a problem we had previously experienced and frankly it's a no-no for us. We cannot stand smelling like the meal we just ate. Unfortunately there's no chance of us returning without knowing that the problem is completely rectified. The bottom line is - if you don't have adequate equipment to ensure your cooking smells are contained in the kitchen, don't build an open kitchen design...
service was a little slow. our steak was overdone and i was surprised they didn’t cover our birthday girls dessert. it was 4 girls and our bill was well over $300. we had presents on the table. just a turn off.
We enjoyed the 3 course restaurant week menu, it was outstanding! The ambiance at Tallula is great, don't even mind the tv behind the bar.
Under-appreciated fine dining spot in Birmingham. Always a great meal with a fairly diverse menu.
Our food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. Johnny (sp?) was our waiter and he was fabulous. So nice to have the owner stop by the table as well. Will definitely be back.
I love this restaurant. They have a great menu and wonderful wines. The problem is that it became SO LOUD that I was screaming to my friend across the table by 7:00pm. Our reservation was at 6:30pm. Obviously everyone was having a great time but they need to do something about the acoustics. I probably wont be going back again until they open the tables outside.
The service was excellent and the food was fabulous.
We’ve loved every visit to Tallulah. Starting from the friendly greeting at the door; the food and wine list are exceptional; service is top notch; ambience is great; can be a little loud depending on the day and time but that does not interfere with a wonderful evening and just adds to the vibrancy. Don’t miss this great restaurant!
Staff was just great, very knowledgeable and fun to interact with.
Great food, service was professional. Live music was nice. Overall noise level(minus live music) was too loud. Difficultly holding conversations. Overall, I will return. I still had a great experience.
One of my favorite spots that you can always count on for a really good meal and a great glass of wine - not to mention the cheese plate!
This restaurant has a great atmosphere, excellent service and very good food. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Decorating was beautiful for Holidays. Very professional staff.
Been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile, but I found the food to good not great, ambiance nice, but nothing special
Food not up to standard , drinks were great as was service.
The service was excellent. Jola did a nice job. It was a terrific experience.
My wife and I have been here on numerous occasions and Tallulah never disappoints. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts are always spot on. Service is great and they always anticipate your needs. They make you feel like family and that’s what keeps us coming back! Cheers
Great live music and food was amazing as well! Loved the Ahi Tuna appetizer!
Service was prompt.. wait staff were very attentive & professional. Very unassuming place, & you’d be tempted to pass it by. DON’T! You won’t be disappointed
Tallulah is a great spot. Excellent food, first class service and a nice vibe. Loved the rack of lamb.
When we are in the area we try to get to Tallulah's for a lovely dinner, always have had great food , attentive service and a memorable evening.
Good food and excellent service
Excellent food! Loved the asparagus appetizer, short rib appetizer.
When in blind not every hearing about the restaurant. The food and service were great
