Tallulah Wine Bar and Bistro
Happy Hour: Monday - Saturday: 4:30pm-6:30pm
My wife and I always enjoy our dates at Tallulah’s
Service was excellent, the food was good but not exceptional. The menu could be more creative and demonstrate better balance of flavors.
The food at Tallulah is consistently delicious and the service outstanding. Live music adds to a great atmosphere. Not s good pick with kids or for quiet conversation, but otherwise one of our favorite places to dine
I have been to Tallulah several times but the service was poor this trip. There seemed to have been a new chef as well as the food quality was not up to Tallulah's usual standards.
Best ever as always !
Recommended to me. Took an out of town friend. Loved the atmosphere, staff, wine selection and food. We were 30 min late due to rain storm and they had no issues accommodating us. Would do the drive over again. Well worth it!
Service and good were excellent.
Tallulah never disappoints!
The whole experience was ok. Food was very good. The wait staff was a little too cozy for my taste and the owner at one point interrupted the conversation to ask how is everything. This was a business dinner, and for this type of restaurant everybody shoud be more attuned to the diners. Casual diners might appreciate cracking jokes, but this is not always appropriate.
Meal and service were excellent. Very enjoyable experience.
Re-found this place after a long absence. We have enjoyed it a lot and will be coming back- often.
I always enjoy going to Tallulah! They not only have amazing food (most important), but the ambiance, service and selection of items are also one of the best I have experienced in the area!
Outstanding!!!! Love the food and service! Best meal in Birmingham!!
The service and the food was fantastic. Some of their dishes were totally new tome and they were excellent.
Even though I am becoming a staple on Thursday nights, admittedly every time I appear feels like the first time, primarily from the reception of the staff there. Had the pleasure of having "George" as my barista (always a guaranteed spoiler) who was assisted this occasion by "Adrian", who I learned was relatively new. Under George's guidance (I assume), I was equally impressed with Adrian's attentiveness to my needs, prompt response to my request, and genuine politeness when interacting with patrons. Again, I would be remiss if I didn't applaud the kitchen and their food preparation-my meal was exceptionally palette pleasing (SMILE), such that I have decided to start experimenting with different food choices in the future. Personally, I also find the added entertainment on Thursday produces a level of energy that seems to "infect" everyone there; staff included. Watching Ornelia sing along while greeting patrons is a joy (SMILE). I must commend "John" who stays busy worling every table to see if all is well, yet is so-o mellow when he gives you a personal "hello". It feels great to be in an environment that can both uplift your inners with a great meal, and heighten your outer sensations with a great sound. I only hope they are able to correct whatever circuitry problem there was that caused the malfunction with the sound system. The duo of "Ani & Condido" definitely compliment the ambience and make excellent ambassadors for the Tallulah image. I look forward to my next visit and am sharing my experience with friends and associates alike. Thank you.
Love the duck breast and scallops. They were both excellent. Service was also excellent and waitstaff was very attentive. Have been there before and always enjoyed eating there.
appetizers good then downhill from there. steak arrived beyond well-done when i asked for medium+. fries just OK. tuna was rubbery and chewy.
I am becoming a regular there for the Thursday night engagements with the "dynamic (musical) duo". Can't say enough about how accommodating every one has been to me, even on this past occasion when I was "fashionably" late. Ornelia greeted me with her usual "infectious" smile while looking very "chic" in her summer attire. George, who has been my barista on several occasions, went out of his way to stop at my table and shake hands, and I thought that was very special. I was served by Gerti, who was also very personable and insightful when asked about different dynamics regarding the business and life in general. It felt like we had known each other for some time.
Of course I have a bias for the excellent entertainment (SMILE). I would be remiss if I didn't mention needing to get the recipe for the exquisite sauce used on the shrimp appetizer which is to die for (SMILE)!! Note, there was an exceptional "warmth" in the air this night that seemed to resonate through all the other patrons and staff alike. In a city with the character of Birmingham, it is refreshing to frequent a location that maintains the upscale quality of the city's reputation and yet is able to provide a seemingly humble, endearing and genuine "vibe" for all who are present. It doesn't feel like one is in a business establishment; more like visiting someone's home with a creative atmosphere. Thank you.
Food and Service are always top notch! We’ve never been disappointed dining at this Birmingham gem!
We had a wonderful evening and meal in a vibrant setting.
I enjoy dining at Tallulah. The food is delicious, creative, and beautiful. I love patio dining.
A little too noisy for the older set. But nice and busy. Hopping, which is always nice to see. Food was a little "nouvo" but very tasty. Always like trying some place new.
One of our favorites. Menu is dynamic. Hot spot of who's who. Awesome wine list. Great service. Always a first class experience
Great place for a date night. Really enjoyed the food and service. The chicken dish was fantastic.
The staff at Tallulah is really special. They truly seem to care that you have a good experience and return to see them again. The food was fresh and delicious!
Our waiter was very attentive. Wonderful food: amish chicken, duck breast, wild boar.
Loved the food...Service was Excellent...you won't be disappointed!
I was not impressed with the good. I had the seafood risotto and it was very bland, there was no taste to it.
This was our first experience here. From the beginning to the end we absolutely enjoyed our time here. We started with the Tiger Shrimp then a salad (Caprese style) and then we split Salmon, Filet Mignon and the Mushroom and Pepper side. They were absolutely delicious. To finish it all off we had the Hazelnut dessert. So glad we gave this place a shot!
One of our standing “ date night” options
I thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment (Ani & friend); they seem very adapt at engaging the patrons and heightening the energy level there. Variety of music choices seems so appropriate for that setting and audience responds accordingly. Most notable commendations for Ornelia (spelling), the beautiful hostess with the infectious smile. Always pleasant and accommodating. Loved seeing her interact with patrons on a personal level while maintaining a very professional persona as needed. Waitress on this occasion was cordial with brighter affect upon receiving her large tip (SMILE). Was personally greeted and introduced to manager/owner (can't remember his name-very young looking gentleman for his position) who appeared very genuine in his appreciation for my being there. Glad to be a part of the Tallulah experience. Thank you.
Always great food, atmosphere & service. Sitting outside on their patio in the summer is the best. This is by far our favorite restaurant in Metro Detroit. Service is always fantastic and management does a great job of making you feel welcomed.
We ate outside it was a nice day to sit out side
This occasion, I must commend my waiter (George) who was very attentive, pleasant, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure all one's needs were being met. Additionally, the hostess (with the big, bright smile) whose name escapes me, was equally very gracious and friendly. Both possessed an ability to make a newcomer feel as if one was a regular patron there-felt really comfortable. Truly enjoyed the singing couple who added just the right spark to the overall atmosphere and seemed very engaging and having fun with the audience in attendance. High scale in accommodations and dining cuisine, and yet very personable and intimate in the friendly service rendered. Thank you.
Great, small personal place. Great people, great food and service!!
Consistently a very good restaurant with a sophisticated menu that always has something interesting. Service and atmosphere are exceptional in a quiet neighborhood location. Can be loud inside and the outdoor dining is great.
Great food, atmosphere and service. If you like mushrooms, try the Sautéed California Cauliflower mushrooms which are available for a limited time. Would highly recommend trying for dinner. Fun to eat at the bar as well. Bartender is awesome with helpful recommendations for wine or drinks.
Great place. Only complaint is they need an updated dessert menu
Excellent food and wine. We enjoyed being on the patio and being a part of the city.
