Our catering team specializes in on-site canapé creation, as well as private dinners. We bring a team into your house/venue and build all the canapés in front of your guests. We try to stay away from buffet style, preferring to do set menus. We do not do drop offs and pick-up is very limited due to the nature of our cuisine.

Very small restaurant, wasn’t aware that they would have 2 piece live music in such a tiny room, trying to outplay the open kitchen noise. We couldn’t hear/talk at all to our visitors while the musicians were playing, only between sets. (Apparently this occurs only on Wednesday nights). Wine list pretty expensive for a local restaurant, even with the 30% Wednesday night discount....only on bottles under $100, several of which they were out of stock. Perhaps bring purchased wine as corkage is $25 each bottle for limited 2 bottles per table. Very limited dining menu, promoted vegetarian meals mostly had egg in them so very restricted menu for a vegetarian friend. As we were waiting to order, we watched several plates (rack of lamb) go by....all were a funny grey colour (possibly sous vide w/o grilling finish?) and some were sent back (for finishing (?)). Chose NOT to order lamb because of this, instead ordered osso busso which was very bland, not tender (was given a steak knife to cut it with), gremolata topping was made of mostly large pieces of parsley, very little lemon zest and no discernible garlic. Risotto accompaniment was very salty. BUT two guests had outstanding, well prepared large pieces of sablefish......so maybe an off-night for the grilling/meat chef. Didn’t stay for dessert as musicians were still planning to play on. Probably won’t be back at the wine/meal prices w/limited selection.

The atmosphere at the restaurant was nice and the food was very tasty.
However, I found it to be a little bit too crowded and what was bothering me the most was the smoke from cooking. There were times when you will see a cloud of smoke covering the entire place even though the range hood was working rigorously. Probably a better ventilation system in place and less tables can transform the place in a better place to go out for dinner.

I have been to Tap before and enjoyed it very much. Was looking forward to this visit as I was treating friends. Not quite up to its usual standard. The service was often awkward with frequent efforts to remove plates that weren't done and at the same time ignoring plates that should be removed. i think that perhaps they had staff in training. The ongoing wiping of the table with a wet cloth was odd made me feel we were being ushered out of the restaurant before we ready.
Th scallops were superb.However the French Onion soup was disappointing - I think they forgot the cheese. My friends returned their mussels to have broth added to them as they were simply in water. The brussel sprouts were mostly potatoes. And the risotto was a bit watery. This is a popular neighbourhood restaurant with a stirling reputation however Friday night was a bit off for the restaurant and unfortunately for us as well .

Small but interesting menu. We had the smoked pork terrine appetizer, my wife had the Osso Buco and I had the duck leg. We shared the daily special dessert.
It was truly a delicious meal.

Tap is our favourite restaurant in South Surrey/Langley. Alister is an excellent chef with a creative menu and skilled team. As a sommelier, his knowledge and experience of wine is simply fun! We visit at least monthly. The service is simply outstanding.

We hadn't been for a few months but as usual, the food was excellent and the service, as well. It is a great treat to find this calibre of restaurant in a neighbourhood environment. We would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone in the area! (one of our party ordered the prawn pasta special but was delivered another dish - he was happy enough with what arrived, but they made the effort to bring him a side of prawns to add to the dish!)

Enjoyed yet another fine meal with some friends last week. The Seabass and rack of lamb were excellent.
The staff as always were excellent and attentive to our table.
We'll be back!

Not a place for a "quick bite", but it is worth the time it takes. And: you can see it being done right in front of you -- no microwave! I was with a couple of real 'foodies' and I think Tap was an excellent choice for these demanding palates.
I had the risotto with morels and it was delicious.
Everyone was delighted with everything.

My guest commented it's the first restaurant that we had been to that everything was perfect for me I must me fussy
Coming back. For business lunch next week and following week for dinner with my husband and another couple

Service was attentive, food was very good, the restaurant was quiet but if the waitress asked one more time if our food was 'delicious' I was would have lost it. I understand the human nature slant to the question aimed at ascertaining how the guests are finding their food and that asking with a positive slant generally garners a positive response, but it is very presumptuous to use the word 'delicious '. The food was in fact was quite good, but I found the use of the word condescending. You have to earn your Michelin stars after all. It would have be better to just ask, 'how are your meals?'

Lunch menu - 3 out of 4 of our group had the halibut & risotto dish. We all raved about it. The halibut was cooked to perfection, the risotto was amazing too. Would highly recommend this intimate restaurant. Will be back.

Appies, mains, drinks and dessert were all delicious for both of us. Will return on that basis alone. Ambiance was marginal, not a lot of character but was clean. Nothing wrong with the servers themselves but need more of them-had a Saturday 6pm-8pm meal and waited for everything. Need more staff at prime time!

My wife and I went on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was almost full. The service was both helpful and knowledgeable. The Alsatian tart was excellent. She had duck and I had the lamb. Both were delicious We will certainly return and would recommend Tap to anyone

Used to be our absolute favourite restaurant in the Valley. Went there back to back recently with a foodie couple, and then on next night with immed family of 6 for 28th wedding anniv. Has it's glowing points still, with some creative and tasty food dishes, some fabulous waiters and waitresses, plus Alister's super impressive wine knowledge....but last 2 visits didn't match our memories of it. Historically we found prices were up there, but quality was always superb and service exemplary. However these last 2 occasions it was more m'eh which was disappointing. Actually on the second occasion the service was sub-par (didn't get Melissa :-( ) , had a table for 6 under a/c unit so was super cold but nowhere to move, and was located out by the front door. When they knew it was a special occasion it would have been nice to not be placed in this less than ideal spot. Especially after having been there the night before. Wine list still real real good, and Alister knows his stuff, very impressive and super nice guy. And fab to be able to eat so much local organically. But a couple of meals on both occasions were luke warm, meat portions seemed to be smaller (?), service on Sat night was agonizingly slow...yet prices still reflected a 6 star experience. Disappointing cause we used to love it and recommended it to many. So now it's a 'possible' venue for us versus a must-do. They have structure to provide fantastic moments, but 2 recent experiences for us were not the same. So it's good versus outstanding, with a hope they rebound and this was just a tougher weekend.
