In Spain & Portugal Tapas are considered a culture. Shared amongst friends in a relaxed and unhurried environment, to be combined with wine, lively conversation, tall tales and spirits!
Our Tapas Menu offers "Small Dishes" reflecting the modern fusion flavours of Portugal & Spain. Dishes are designed for two people to share, we suggest 2—3 dishes per person as a meal.

We had a wonderful evening. Knowledgeable staff, creative, delicious food. Good value, well curated wine list at reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
A bit disappointing initially, but strong finish.
The menu nicely identifies DF, GF, etc items but unfortunately is not consistent. For example, Serrano Ham is clearly Dairy Free / GF but not indicated as such on the menu. There were other examples. We had to press a bit to get clarity and have some of the items modified (eg Gambas fried in olive oil vs butter). In the end the meal was excellent and good value. More knowledgeable waiters and a warmer initial reception to dairy allergy would have turned this into a 5 star experience.
From the minute we’ve met our host to the very last second of the meal the service was great. We had a very homey feeling throughout the meal.
And of course the food was tasty and mouthwatering. Highly recommended for a romantic place to eat at Canmore.
The restaurant was charming, even though I reserved 2 weeks ago and was seated by the bathroom!
The supper choices were not appealing to the eye or the tastebuds.
The artichoke and cheese was blended so that you could not tell what was in it. It became a DIP.
The crab was obviously frozen and not drained when thawed, as the questionable (?)orange gazpacho (not) was swimming in thawed juice from the crab. Yuck!!
The tostados were average at best!
The waiter was young, inexperienced and non-interested in us. All this for a Thursday evening.
A top rated Canmore restaurant gets a NO vote from my American friend and myself. So disappointing.
Good restaurant but quite expensive. $171 for 2 people (including dessert) but not including tip. Had only 1 glass of wine each (9oz). All but 1 of our items was meatless since I’m a vegetarian (hubby is not).
The patatas bravas was my fave!! So flavorful!! (The tomato and beet dishes were just ok- needed seasoning or fresh herbs or something!) Gnocchi’s were good but not a lot there for $22. Hubby loved his scallop and pork dish for $30.
We left feeling just right, not overly full. But again price was on the high end for sure!
My 4 clients and I went to this restaurant because of the reviews. The food was very good but extremely pricey. 2 jumbo shrimp for $16 is ridiculous but $6 for 4 slices of bread is over the top. I don't mind paying for great food but when a diner can't get a seperate entree while the rest dine....because I quote: "we can't guarantee that meals will come out with the tapas". At an average of $12 for a miniscule plate....you will leave hungry and spend a fortune if you don't want to. leave hungry I want my clients to be able to choose what they want. Sharing is great when I am with family....and frankly I have known these clients for many years...all agree...overpriced for the portion and we dined in many other places in the area that had equally outstanding food at a much more reasonable price. I come from NJ/NY....how much does a loaf of exquisite bread cost? Certainly not $6 for 4 measly slices! We get it free with our meals. Get a grip on your prices or make the portions reflect that. I dare you to come to NJ and I will take you to a Portuguese or Spanish restaurant with garlic shrimp and free bread....that will fill you up....and it is an appetiser...for less than you charge. Disappointing is the best word I can use and pretentious would be the second.
We had an amazing meal trying the chef's experience dishes. Delightful surprises at every dishes
Fantastic food, service and ambiance. We went for our first anniversary and both of us felt it was the perfect choice of restaurant. Intimate, romantic and delicious. We’ll be back next time we visit Canmore.
The desert was amazing but the mains and appetizers weren’t to my taste, thats not a bash on the restaurant it just didn’t fit me. Presentation was beautiful, service was great. A great experience in the end. Highly recomend
Would recommend. Very good service, good wine list. Good selection of Tapas - mostly routine things you would see. Perhaps more veg dishes? Cheeses were very good. Portions were appropriate.
Great environment and great food and wine selection.
Right from the cocktails to the dessert, our night out was amazing. James and Cindy were fantastic hosts and they helped us choose some absolutely outstanding dishes and wine. Can’t wait to go back!
Great service and delicious food , had great time .
Chose Tapas Restaurant based on reviews and was not disappointed. Wonderful atmosphere, very attentive staff. We had the Chefs Table, enjoyed most but not all of the dishes so would opt to order separate menu items next time. Pricey but overall a really great experience, would go back and would recommend to family & friends.
Family in from out of town
Tapas was phenomenal. The food had such thoughtful and well put together flavors! It was on par with the fancy restaurants that charge $300+ per person. Get the Chef’s choice menu. You won’t regret it.
My husband and I go there every time we go to Canmore and we always order the Chef's Menu. This time around we took our business associates with to experience the Chef's Menu. We we're extremely disappointed in the portion size. It honestly felt like the "Family style" portions where not enough at all! We left feeling ripped off and it has left a bitter taste in our mouths seeing that this was also a very expensive dining experience.
chef's choice menu provided inspired tapas, a great balance of tastes, fine service, creativity, and enough calories to meet the need! classical-style guitarist was wonderful. he does a lot with his loop pedal!
Small plates. And I don’t feel comfortable for their service
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Tapa’s. Every course was delicious, the service impeccable and the ambience enjoyable. I would definitely recommend Tapa’s.
Went to Tapas for a birthday celebration with friends. Food was outstanding. Service was terrific
Great service, great variety of menu items which were all delicious! Great place to share items as a couple or group.
Dessert options were also delicious. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere and unique if looking for a special dinner. Would recommend.
Tapas has been an continues to be our favorite special occasion (or for a nice treat) restaurant in Canmore
A longtime favorite of our family for as long as it's been open.
Good food, good service.
The scallops and pork hock platos and gambas pintxos were both outstanding, sangria was lovely and the entertainment made for a wonderful evening on the patio with friends.
I have been to tapas about 4 or 5 times now and have always been impressed by the atmosphere and the service. Although the portion sizes are small and pricey they have been super tasty. However, the last time I visited I found the dishes to be not only small and over priced but very unoriginal and lacking in the unique flavors that should be found at this price point. An example is the broccolini ($16) which was but a few pieces roasted in pesto with boxed bread crumbs sprinkled on top.
My girlfriend and I spend $100 and left feeling like we could still eat a whole other dinner. Which we went and did.
Great night at Tapas. Loved the food and the ambience.
Although the food was tasty we found it amazingly overpriced for the size of each dish. We were assured by the server that what we ordered was definitely enough for the two of us, and at $90 for food alone, you'd think it should be, yet when we left we were still hungry.
Perfection! Gorgeous food, gorgeous town.
Great food and service. Fantastic experience.
Service was great, the food was good but very expensive. I wouldn't say it was worth the price though our experience was wonderful.
Great food and excellent service for this occasion!
We enjoyed the selection of high quality tapas. And were impressed with the ability to book online on short notice. The service was excellent, all the staff were informed about the dishes and were very friendly.
Excellent tasting menu and wine selection.
Our favourite fine dining restaurant, period. Chorizo and dogs is the BEST plate ever.
Food a bit "fussy" and over complicated. Not tapas in the traditional sense but good fun. Front of house guy very attentive and informative.
We were there with my parents - they eat meat but we are vegan. They were very accommodating and had a ton of options for us. My parents also loved the meat and seafood. We liked it so much we went back the next evening.
The food was unique and mouthwateringly delicious! We were on vacation and so glad we ate there. Eating outside made it even nicer. This is a five star restaurant!
We loved the intimate setting and had a lovely evening with great service and delicious food.
Second time visiting, just as good as the first time. Friendly great staff, amazing food, great ambiance. Recommend and will be back again.
