My partner and I came here as an impromptu date night.
The lighting in the evening is gorgeous and, if you get to sit by the glass walls, it feels like you’re dining outside but with the comforts of indoor dining.
We were serviced by the wonderful and attentive Laine.
With her recommendations, I tried the Truffle Mac & Cheese and Sautéed Mushrooms which were TO DIE FOR.
My partner tried the 28 Day Dried Sirloin Stake and his mouth was watering all the way through as he ate it with the best Whipped Potatoes and Spinach Cream we’ve ever tried.
Our experience was one we will always remember and Laine was vital to making our date night into a Dream Night to share together, talk, and enjoy amazing food.
Laine even helped my partner surprise me with cake to celebrate my birthday!
Thank you to Tavern on the Green for such a great experience.
Thank you to Laine, for bringing us such amazing and unforgettable service.
P.S. Laine deserves a raise!
Went during the NYC Winter Restaurant Week 2020 so it was a special menu...the food was really good and the wine pairing was excellent.
Nice atmosphere; very good food (rack of lamb!); attentive service, but not overdone.
Beautiful place, wonderful atmosphere & delicious food!
It’s restaurant week, got great value of my food! My waitress Sharon was amazing, had a great time!
Went for restaurant week. We were seated right away. Table was not next to the window even though all the seats at the window were open. But we could see the park. Our server greeted us, took our drink order and seemed to take her time delivering them. We then sat there as our disappearing server was no were to be seen. We asked someone to find her so we could order.
Our meal was very good. The atmosphere was lovely. It was just the service that was a disappointment.
Still I would recommend it for the lovely atmosphere.
Please note that they do not do Restaurant Week menus on Sundays.... service was great, but the food was abhorrent. Sparkling water, one appetizer, two soups, and one entree ran us $130 with tip. We couldn’t finish our food because it was too gross to eat. Beautiful place, but not worth it.
Eating at Tavern on the Green is an experience all should encounter at least once during warm weather and during winter. It's so picturesque. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a friendly staff. Our server was also friendly and attentive. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is because it took a while to get our entrees at 5:00 on a Sunday. If in a rush, this won't work for you. If you have 2-3 hours for your meal, this is PERFECT. A lot of architecture and sunlight to enjoy.
The Place was beautiful, as usual. We were there for sunday brunch. The service was very polte and the food delicious.
Loved it high, could not recommend it more :)
Once again, Tavern on the Green hosted a glorious friend&family celebration to remember. The double-birthday-lunch-bunch was seated at a lovely table, with plenty of elbow room and a low noise level allowing for gracious conversation. Food was delicious, drinks were at the ready, and the complimentary slices of birthday cake were much appreciated. Thanks again for hosting another cherished memory!
We love this place, great food, great service, its bright in the dining room.
Ambiance was amazing, as usual. Good quality was very good. Service was prompt. The sparking Riesling I had was nearly flat though but it still tasted good. Food and beverage were pricy, but that’s what you’d expect for NYC and this restaurant. Overall a good experience.
Celebrating my 13 year olds birthday. Brunch was perfect, our waiter was attentive and our table was in a perfect spot overlooking the patio/park.
Loved the food, service and view! Can’t wait to go back!!!
Great dining experience! Wonderful service. Delicious burger and bloody. Sunday brunch before our play.
Very personable staff from the coat check to the host staff to the servers and waiters. What a wonderful place for brunch on a Sunday in glass covered court yard; can see the runners, carriages and strollers in the park! Food was very inventive, tasty and filling. Coffee service was served by the gallon and they noted our anniversary with a slice of celebration cake!
Server Christian was the best!
Our server Angela was terrific! She was very attentive, but not overwhelming. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner to celebrate my daughter's 13th birthday.
Wonderful setting and gracious hosts. We arrived an hour early and were able to enjoy the bar. Wait staff is informative and personable. Highly recommend!
Food was ok, brunch menu limited.
Flatbread and tavern burger excellent!
After reading the reviews we were looking forward to our dinner. We hadn’t been to the Tavern on the Green for almost 15 years even though we live in the neighborhood. Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. The chopped vegetable salad was very good but the entrees were just average. The service was perfunctory. I would suggest going there for a drink at the bar as the restaurant is beautiful especially the front room and the bar. Not a place we would return for dinner.
Service was great, ambiance was spectacular but the food was subpar. Their seafood options tasted frozen and the dessert has an aftertaste. Can’t say I would go back.
Did not enjoy at all. Short ribs were way overcooked, service was terrible and just overall very unimpressed. Would not return or recommend.
My friend and I went to Tavern on the Green for NYC restaurant week. I can say it was one of the best meals I have ever had. Only complaint is that they brought out each course too fast. I had yet to finish my first course before the main course arrived. Otherwise, service was excellent. The restaurant’s atmosphere was much needed after a long day at work. Would highly recommend!
First time to visit the iconic restaurant. Beautifully renovated and fabulous food!
We made reservations and when we arrived there was a couple that did a walk-in in front of us and there were only two more couples waiting. It took 15 minutes and the place was not busy. So, the couple that did a walk-in with no reservations were seated ahead of us. They were obviously tourists and excited and taking pictures which is great but they lost our $800... Why would you make people wait that long with no apologies and seat non-reservations guests ahead of reservations? We've been to much better and they really need to get their act together... All the staff seem to be barley moving with no expressions... so odd. Wonder how they are doing compared the other high-end high service eateries in midtown?
The food was fabulous as always and our waitress was too!
Great service, excellent food and gorgeous restaurant. Highly recommend.
We would have preferred not to have gone during restaurant week but unavoidable as we were on vacation
This iconic’s dining spot in Central Park in the heart of New York City features wonderful ambience beautiful architecture and very good food and an American bistro style
Amazing experience, personal was so kind and helpful
Very nice atmosphere and wait staff was amazing.
It's nice but there's nothing really exceptional about the food. The Ambiance was nice. Bucket list✔
Amazing food. Great service. Wonderful ambiance. Nearly perfect experience.
Not worth the price, food is mediocre and portions small but the atmosphere is nice. Service is just OK, about what a 10% tip should cover
A wonderful meal. Such a welcoming venu on a freezing January evening. All the staff were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The food and the suggested wine pairings made the evening extra special. I would definitely recommend.
The atmosphere was beautiful the service was incredible and the food was delicious
Tasty food, good ambiance. Waiter inattentive
