    Well reservation was for 1:15. Got there at 1 and got seated. Nice table. Told us they had a party coming in that night but all good for us - we could stay until 3-3:30 as we out of the way. Ordered couple of appys. Then the pressure was on to order mains as they were closing. We said we were told we good until 3. Guess they changed their minds (it’s only not quite 2). Said just give us order and we hold the order but kitchen can prep the food. So we ordered a pizza. Well it came within five minutes. Was the pizza that had been cooked for the staff. Wasn’t quite done. Little cold. They did take off the bill. Bottom line - if you need to clear the room by 2 then don’t take a 1:15 reservation. Side note Calamari and caprese salad delicious. Servers great but the rushiness made it a poor experience

    We did not eat there due to very small list of gluten free/friendly options. The staff mentioned the menu is being updated in a few weeks (after the holidays) to include gluten free options We will try again in the future.

    Went to dinner with my husband and the service was amazing , I ordered a main entrée and not for anything the restaurant had done it just wasn’t to my taste , they removed it from my bill even though I never once complained about it and even told the waiter it was good. I actually felt awful as I knew there want anything wrong with it. Thank the manager on my way out we would recommend the restaurant to everyone!!!

    Overpriced...Great location, lovely ambiance, good sound level, lively but not too much, and just a little too snobby. The waiter was snobby and the food was good but overpriced, both for the flavour, contents, quantity and presentation, nothing special. Drinks were good, they do have an amazing wine menu. Maybe it was the this particular night, but the distribution of staff was pretty archaic; women as hostess or bread server, men as fancy waiters, and a 'diverse' staff working hard in the kitchen... No need to go again, there are lots of other amazing places out there.

    We were assigned with table that is limited to 2 hour dining time. Our plan was to try the tasting menu. We were told the tasting menu would take at least 3 hours. So we can only order other items that won’t take longer than 2 hours. I ordered the feature dish, halibut. The fish was over salted. My friend ordered duck breast which was a bit tough in texture. We ordered fois gras as appetizer. It is the compressed pate version which wasn’t what we expected as well. Overall the food was a bit of disappointment. Because we can only dine for 2 hours, we decided not to order dessert and switched to other restaurants to complete the night. The restaurant compensated by not charging the specialty coffee I ordered which I appreciated. Unfortunately my overall experience is not to my expectation. We came to Teatro before and did have fantastic experience in the past but not this time. If the table we reserved have a limit of time that certain menu items won’t be able to serve, we should know about it in advance not after we arrived so we can decide if we want another location or continue.

    Beautiful building, and friendly and knowledgeable service staff. Beef carpaccio was perfectly executed. Pasta dishes were decent, but nothing different than you would get at Alforno Cafe which is part of the same restaurant group.

    They charge for the bread they offer which was surprising. The price for the special for lunch wasn’t communicated. Was surprised to see it was overpriced. Next time I will ask the price before ordering the special.

    food was absolutely delicious. we ordered the beef carpaccio and scallops to start. Then we had Pappardelle Bolognese, rib eye and swordfish special for our mains. Desert we had tiramisu and Pumpkin Roulade. Everything was delicious and first-class service.

    My Husband and I went there last night to celebrate our 14th Wedding Anniversary and we had an incredible time! Everything from the service to the food was outstanding. We also appreciated the little details that the staff put into our visit. There was a signed card from all the staff that congratulated us on our Anniversary. Thank you for making us feel special ❤️

    The food is absolutely exceptional. Normally, so is the service. Our server was just OK, but she was supported by excellent people. We always look forward to food at Teatro!

    This was a huge disappointment. We waited 15 minutes before a waiter poured us some lukewarm water. We each wanted a glass of white wine to drink with our oysters but had to wait another 15 minutes before the oyster arrived by that time the bit of wine left was warm. Our waiter accidentally dropped a card with the tasting menu on it when he came to take the food order. It lay on the floor and was stepped on twice by other wait staff indicating the level of inattentive service this place provides. Oysters were nice. Foie gras terrine bland unseasoned and with no sweetness or acid to reduce the fattiness. Clueless. Duck breast unseasoned seared tuna bland served atop what appeared to be paper mache and from what I recollect from kindergarten tasted worse. Give this place a skip. I suspect their demise in the competitive restaurant world is eminent

    The ambience was beautiful but I found items on the menu very pricey. $ 25.00 for Caesar salad. They also charge $2.00 I think a person for bread. The food was very good. Well presented. When the waiter told us about the Specials he neglected to include price. For me it would not be my favourite restaurant. It was totally convenient if you were going to the theatre.

    Our waiter seemed to want to hurry us. We learned later that she wanted to open up the table for another sitting but was very patient each time we said we were not ready to order. She neglected to tell us the the catch of the day and the other special until we asked. The food was fantastic and the service during our meal was very good. After our main course we were politely asked to move to the bar to have tea as we did not want dessert. It was fine to have our tea at the bar but it felt a little like we’d been moved aside.

    Teatros has been in Calgary a very long time. It’s not my first choice in fine dining but they do their best in accommodating that experience. The espresso martinis are wonderful!!! The burrata salad is bland needs more basil or zing to complement the tomatoes and burrata. I had the halibut but unfortunately I wouldn’t order again.

    Great restaurant, service, food and ambience. Easy access to the Jack Singer Concert Hall which was our next stop. Only thing is our table was not ready when we arrived so perhaps some room for timely availability of space when the reservation was made close to two weeks ago. Thank you for a great evening!

    An excellent dining experience. The service was outstanding, the food was great and the high ceilings of the restaurant and decor made it feel historic. Our waitress Michelle was great, she had excellent recommendations and made us feel extremely welcome. I will definitely be back.

    This evening which I was so looking forward to was huge disappointment. Firstly, when we arrived restaurant not buy yet we were sat by the front door which was constantly opeinging. All 3 of us old all evening and my food cold instalntly. All of our ladies who served us I must say were wonderful. Food is very subjective but my husband and I like and have Italian often. The 2 pasta dishes were by far the worse I have ever eaten. My husband did not enjoy his. We were both ravenous so ate and regretted after. Yes, perhaps poor choices. The wine was good and reasonably prices but The bill for 3 of us with gratuity was over $422.10. This is especially disappointing in that we did not enjoy our meal/ food. No with being cold we did not enjoy the evening. Our daughter is disappointed she was not included as her favorite restaurant so perhaps we have to give it another chance. For now I am not pleased.

    Teatro is a Calgary treasure, serving delicious food for over 30 years. Every time I come I am never disappointed. The service, food, ambiance, wine, and overall experience live up to expectations. They set the standard for fine dining and this is one of my favorites to celebrate, impress, or just enjoy a exquisite dining experience.
