Ted's Bulletin - Reston
We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Whether it’s family dinner, business lunch, or just a Ted’s Tart and coffee to-go, we’re as adaptable as your life is dynamic. Our breakfast menu is available all day because we believe that the most important meal of the day can be had morning, noon or night.
Ted’s Bulletin is a haven for comfort and celebrating the things we have in common: a hunger for good food at great value, a need for a place to be comfortable being ourselves, and a desire to connect with our community. At Ted’s Bulletin, everyone has a table, and every table has a story to tell.
I had a reservation and they said that they do not honor reservations so we still had to wait. I was confused.
Had been wanting to try Ted’s Bulletin for quite some time, so we took my niece & nephew for lunch. My Mom had fish & chips, which she said wasn’t very good - the fish itself was good, but the batter heavy & greasy. The coleslaw had a strange taste as well. I had the ham eggs Benedict, which was quite good - the hollandaise was nice & light, and the ham was good. My nephew had the salmon Caesar salad, which he enjoyed, and my niece said her eggs & bacon were good.
I was in town for business, and made a reservation at Ted's for dinner. I sat outside as it was a lovely evening. I had the BEST fish-and-chips I've ever had (and I've eaten fish-and-chips for some 40 years). It featured generous filets of tender cod covered with a very light and crisp batter, a mountain of wonderful fries, and perfect coleslaw. (I'm picky about coleslaw.) The service by Jennifer was excellent. Even with a spiked strawberry lemonade and 25% tip, the total cost of the meal was less than $30. (A great value for dinner in pricey NoVa.)
We enjoyed the breakfast items we chose - a burrito and eggs with bacon and the upbeat but quiet setting. The service was excellent. Substituted fruit for hash browns and got a large cup of delicious fresh berries.
Our 47th Anniversary was on July 4th. We had made reservations July 4th to another restaurant but changed to go to Teds for Dinner. We already had the reservation for breakfast on July 5th at Teds. We love it there the food is so good and you get such large portions. Ther servers are always coming by to check if we needed anything. Wish we had one around Northern Va. Love this restaurant!!
My girlfriend and I went for Sunday brunch with her sister and Mom. The boozy milkshakes are absolutely fantastic! The food was flavorful, cooked to my specifications (I had steak and eggs). We definitely had to speak up to be heard, it can get pretty noisy. Portions were good, service was awesome. Definitely recommend!
Great spot for a business or casual meal.
got to get the pop tarts!
Ted's is always great for a business lunch. The menu is vast, and anywhere that serves breakfast all day is a 10 in my book!
It was my first time here, and I had read a number of reviews complaining about the service. I ate at noon on a Saturday, and it was not overly crowded. Our server was very nice, very attentive, made suggestions but wasn't too pushy, and delivered the food we ordered. I ordered the Florentine Benedict and hate when poached eggs arrive over-cooked, but mine were perfect and the dish was just what I was craving.
We ordered 4 meals 2 for adults and 2 for grand children
We ordered the adult salmon dinner for one of the grand children with just French fries and nothing else. The order arrived with asparagus and rice and fresh fries as a side dish . The other grandchild ordered a cheese burger and fruit and received a plain burger with fruit. My wife ordered. A Rachel which cane out fine. I ordered a green salad as well as a plain burger with a slice of onion and tomatoe. I specifically told the waitress GRACE who was new I did not want cheese or lettuce. I received the salad with the hamburger together which made it awkward with two bid plates on the table in front of me. I receive a cheese burger with the lettuce and tomatoes chopped on the burger as well as a slice of onion and tomatoes on the side. The waitress said she was sorry for the messed up order . It would appear that the chef just decided to follow the menu and disregard the customers order and desires
We go to Ted ‘s Bulletin all the time and this was the first time that our order was messed up
Either the waitress didn’t put the order in write which I think she did since she wrote it all down or the chef did what he wanted to do and the server not the waitress never checked the order. The manager never came over and probably was never informed by Grace the waitress that the customer was not happy.
The waitress really slow, upon arrival I didn’t get greeted nor assisted until a good 5 minutes and place was hardly busy.
I had a great Ruben sandwich, the services was predictably reliable, fast, and courteous. The Open Table reservation ensured - no waiting!
It was all right. Nothing special.
Very friendly, servers helpful and attentive without being overbearing. Food was prompt and met every expectation.
Love the to-go pop tarts and overall 40s diner feel. The menu was great for brunch and clearly they were very busy. We would return!
This was probably the worst service experience we’ve ever had... we had a waiter who was slow, but we didn’t care. And after taking our orders and bringing our drinks, he disappeared. We waited for about 30 minutes before asking someone else to get our waiter for us. Instead, a different waiter came to our table and took our order. Another 30 minutes went by after we had finished and we just wanted our check but still no one came by. We went inside to ask for a waiter and yet again, a third different waiter came out and gave us our check. It’s unfortunate because the food was so great, but by far the worst service either of us have ever experienced. Extremely disappointed.
Ordered an omelette and requested cheddar cheese instead of swiss. It came with a slice of cheddar like you would get at a grocery store, unmelted and half out of omelete. Also, omelette was cold.
A good chicken fried steak (CFS) is hard to get around here. Honestly, after scouring high and low, I think you are better off staying home and making it yourself.
If, however, that doesn't seem like a good option, then Ted's sells what is probably one of the better CFSs in the area. Is it better than your Gam Gam's from back home? Nope, but it is a serviceable and edible version that will get the job done. It is long on salt and low on other flavors. It's better than the Longhorn Steakhouse version and way better than the frozen plastic wrapped bricks that you're going to get at Denny's or some similar place. When I ordered it, it came accompanied by some truly uninspired mashed potatoes and some corn so heavily seasoned that it was suffering an identity crisis. (There's nothing wrong with corn people...enjoy it.) I was happy to see that Ted's uses white peppercorn gravy on it (an improvement from a few years back when I was served some sort of abomination of nature that had --gasp--brown gravy).
Anyway, lest this sound too critical, my wife and I had a good time and a good dinner at Ted's and left happy. You probably will too. It's just hard to find a decent chicken fried steak around here. Time's they be a changin' my friends.
My qualifications: I grew up in Kansas, and traveled extensively in the Midwest, stopping at diners, truck-stops, and mom-and-pop restaurants that have elevated this dish to an art form. My aunt made the best one ever.
P.s. Don't get the mac & cheese.
Nice brunch choices... I had an omelette, but my friend had steak salad. We both enjoyed the yummy bloody Marys
Was fine. Nothing spectacular but solid.
Food is always good and the staff are very friendly. This is a nice casual place to eat.
It was good food at a convenient location. If you are looking for a value or for foodie creative food go elsewhere. Service was good, not outstanding. Food was good, not outstanding. Would I go back. sure!
Awesome food and amazing service. TD in Reston is a great place to eat and relax.
The day shift manager was so incredibly rude when we asked to be moved to stable away from the door. it was less than 20 degrees outside and the staff kept going in and out of the emergency exit door. At one point the staff member laughed and held the door open. We were freezing. Will NEVER eat at TEDS again due to how rude they treated us. And our food was cold and hard... but I was afraid to asked for something else as I did not want to be be-raided again by the manager or waitress...
Great food as always!! Love the feel and look of this restaurant.
Always great comfort food and NPR on tap 😀
The burger I ordered and corn beef hash my wife ordered is nothing to write home about. Local diners like Amphora is better
Great for families. Food is great, kids love it.
Great food and service!
One of my favorite places to eat in Reston Town Center when I come down for work.
The Drew Burger is Awsome! Request it with fried banana. We were pleasantly surprised this visit that our server recommended the banana... not usually the case. With the sweet tomato chutney and peanut butter, this is a truly unique burger. This is a comfort food we’ll make a special outing for... yum.
Annoyed that my breakfast as delivered did not match my breakfast as ordered.
Took friends visiting from England to this restaurant on a Friday night. Our waitress was personable and helpful in the beginning. She offered recommendations for what to eat and had knowledge of everthing on the menu. I chose the restuarant because it had a good variety and I thought would offer choices for the vegetarian in our group. In our group of four, we had one order of the hummus salad (declared quite good), the meatloaf (no complaints), a breakfast selection and fried chicken. The fried chicken was OK -- the breading was not all that crunchy, needed seasoning and the meat was not hot when it arrived. It wasn't cold, slightly more than lukewarm but it was cooked all the way through. I ordered the Ted's tarts (which was another reason for selecting the restaurant). I asked for them to be heated but they were heated too much and all the filling leaked out which left the pastry empty and rather glued together. Not bad but a little disappointing. Things were not so bad that I wouldn't go again, but not as impressive as my first visit in the DC location.
Give me the homemade poptarts every day! If you're only in DC for a short time, you've GOT to get the homemade poptart! The brunch menu is small but great options to be had! Thanks for a great morning out!
Decent food, but overpriced for portion served. Missed my opentable check in and had to be contacted to resolve.
Ted’s Bulletin never disappoints. Great for families or small groups.
Small portion for the price paid. $6 to add chicken to a salad and you get one small thin sliced chicken breast.
Great service! Homemade tarts are fantastic. This was only my second visit, but I will continue to return until I am able to try almost everything on the menu.
