Ted's Bulletin - Reston
We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Whether it’s family dinner, business lunch, or just a Ted’s Tart and coffee to-go, we’re as adaptable as your life is dynamic. Our breakfast menu is available all day because we believe that the most important meal of the day can be had morning, noon or night.
Ted’s Bulletin is a haven for comfort and celebrating the things we have in common: a hunger for good food at great value, a need for a place to be comfortable being ourselves, and a desire to connect with our community. At Ted’s Bulletin, everyone has a table, and every table has a story to tell.
Great food. Enjoyable brunch.
Had always heard about Ted's Bulletin and finally decided to give it a try. We ordered the peanut butter bacon burger (which is no longer on the menu but still available if you order it) and the chicken 'n' biscuits. The food was mediocre at best - really lacked flavor in our opinion. One of the biscuits was served to us burned. My husband really enjoyed the mumbo sauce, but that was the only redeeming quality.
It was noisy but food was good
It was good no complaints.
We checked in and mentioned we had a reservation at 11...we waited until a table for 11 was available...45 minutes after the reservation time. reservation was for 4...gets a little loud at the reception desk.
Not bad. But food was a bit dry, still pleasant but would be nice to see consistency
Ted's Bulletin is great breakfast place - the food was great!
They drink wasn’t very potent but the food was delicious service great ambience nice I would definitely return
I love Ted's Bulletin for the best business breakfast spot in Reston. The food options are great, the coffee was delicious. There is enough space to have a private conversation but the wait staff is attentive enough to meet our every need without being overbearing. There truly is no better breakfast spot in Reston to support a meeting over a meal.
The food was delicious. Can’t wait to return to try other yummy things.
Parking is a real problem. To someone who doesn't know how the pay system works it is very confusing and, quite frankly, unneccesary. Won't be going back to Reston Town Center.
My husband and I were a bit surprised by the service we experienced last Sunday for Brunch. We had a 12:30 res, and showed up on time, was not seated until 12:45? Then we practically had to wave our waitress down constantly. The food was cold and we thought it must have been sitting there ready (it was brought out by someone else) We've been to this restaurant in busier times, and the service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Sadly, This was NOT one of those occasions...
We always go to Ted's for Birthdays it's become a tradition, never disappointed, there is something for everyone.
Chicken and biscuits looked AMAZING but tasted ok. Cheese grits were all past “cheesy” and more like orange goo, and I like cheese. Fries were fantastic. Movie playing was Bicycle Thief, a bit of a departure from 1950s reruns...
A little pricey but a lot of food. Server Jenn was very good.
Breakfast with the family was great! Service was a little slow but it was busy and she was still really nice and nothing was messed up or anything.
Always a pleasure to dine here. Perfect for a business breakfast. Convenient location. Excellent service!
Ted's Bulletin is everything you'd expect from a second-tier burger joint. My wife and I were dining with another couple, having made a reservation a week or so in advance, and as we waited for our drinks to arrive, the hostess seated at least ten little girls--10-12 years old--immediately next to us. The noise level soared through the roof. On the positive side, when I requested to change tables, our request was cheerfully honored, but why would they put diner in that position in the first place? When large groups of children arrive, why not place them apart from quiet diners? That's just bad service.
The food was okay. Not bad, but certainly nothing special.
Service was inattentive and slow, and we went at 5:45 when there was only three other tables in the restaurant. Our server did not come over to check on us unless we stood and waved him down. Our drinks went unfilled for most of our dinner. There were shells in our crab cakes and egg shells still left on our deviled eggs. We ordered the s’mores tart for dessert and it was given to us cold. We definitely won’t be going back to this location.
I had a reservation and they said that they do not honor reservations so we still had to wait. I was confused.
Had been wanting to try Ted’s Bulletin for quite some time, so we took my niece & nephew for lunch. My Mom had fish & chips, which she said wasn’t very good - the fish itself was good, but the batter heavy & greasy. The coleslaw had a strange taste as well. I had the ham eggs Benedict, which was quite good - the hollandaise was nice & light, and the ham was good. My nephew had the salmon Caesar salad, which he enjoyed, and my niece said her eggs & bacon were good.
I was in town for business, and made a reservation at Ted's for dinner. I sat outside as it was a lovely evening. I had the BEST fish-and-chips I've ever had (and I've eaten fish-and-chips for some 40 years). It featured generous filets of tender cod covered with a very light and crisp batter, a mountain of wonderful fries, and perfect coleslaw. (I'm picky about coleslaw.) The service by Jennifer was excellent. Even with a spiked strawberry lemonade and 25% tip, the total cost of the meal was less than $30. (A great value for dinner in pricey NoVa.)
We enjoyed the breakfast items we chose - a burrito and eggs with bacon and the upbeat but quiet setting. The service was excellent. Substituted fruit for hash browns and got a large cup of delicious fresh berries.
Our 47th Anniversary was on July 4th. We had made reservations July 4th to another restaurant but changed to go to Teds for Dinner. We already had the reservation for breakfast on July 5th at Teds. We love it there the food is so good and you get such large portions. Ther servers are always coming by to check if we needed anything. Wish we had one around Northern Va. Love this restaurant!!
My girlfriend and I went for Sunday brunch with her sister and Mom. The boozy milkshakes are absolutely fantastic! The food was flavorful, cooked to my specifications (I had steak and eggs). We definitely had to speak up to be heard, it can get pretty noisy. Portions were good, service was awesome. Definitely recommend!
Great spot for a business or casual meal.
got to get the pop tarts!
Ted's is always great for a business lunch. The menu is vast, and anywhere that serves breakfast all day is a 10 in my book!
It was my first time here, and I had read a number of reviews complaining about the service. I ate at noon on a Saturday, and it was not overly crowded. Our server was very nice, very attentive, made suggestions but wasn't too pushy, and delivered the food we ordered. I ordered the Florentine Benedict and hate when poached eggs arrive over-cooked, but mine were perfect and the dish was just what I was craving.
We ordered 4 meals 2 for adults and 2 for grand children
We ordered the adult salmon dinner for one of the grand children with just French fries and nothing else. The order arrived with asparagus and rice and fresh fries as a side dish . The other grandchild ordered a cheese burger and fruit and received a plain burger with fruit. My wife ordered. A Rachel which cane out fine. I ordered a green salad as well as a plain burger with a slice of onion and tomatoe. I specifically told the waitress GRACE who was new I did not want cheese or lettuce. I received the salad with the hamburger together which made it awkward with two bid plates on the table in front of me. I receive a cheese burger with the lettuce and tomatoes chopped on the burger as well as a slice of onion and tomatoes on the side. The waitress said she was sorry for the messed up order . It would appear that the chef just decided to follow the menu and disregard the customers order and desires
We go to Ted ‘s Bulletin all the time and this was the first time that our order was messed up
Either the waitress didn’t put the order in write which I think she did since she wrote it all down or the chef did what he wanted to do and the server not the waitress never checked the order. The manager never came over and probably was never informed by Grace the waitress that the customer was not happy.
The waitress really slow, upon arrival I didn’t get greeted nor assisted until a good 5 minutes and place was hardly busy.
I had a great Ruben sandwich, the services was predictably reliable, fast, and courteous. The Open Table reservation ensured - no waiting!
It was all right. Nothing special.
Very friendly, servers helpful and attentive without being overbearing. Food was prompt and met every expectation.
Love the to-go pop tarts and overall 40s diner feel. The menu was great for brunch and clearly they were very busy. We would return!
This was probably the worst service experience we’ve ever had... we had a waiter who was slow, but we didn’t care. And after taking our orders and bringing our drinks, he disappeared. We waited for about 30 minutes before asking someone else to get our waiter for us. Instead, a different waiter came to our table and took our order. Another 30 minutes went by after we had finished and we just wanted our check but still no one came by. We went inside to ask for a waiter and yet again, a third different waiter came out and gave us our check. It’s unfortunate because the food was so great, but by far the worst service either of us have ever experienced. Extremely disappointed.
Ordered an omelette and requested cheddar cheese instead of swiss. It came with a slice of cheddar like you would get at a grocery store, unmelted and half out of omelete. Also, omelette was cold.
A good chicken fried steak (CFS) is hard to get around here. Honestly, after scouring high and low, I think you are better off staying home and making it yourself.
If, however, that doesn't seem like a good option, then Ted's sells what is probably one of the better CFSs in the area. Is it better than your Gam Gam's from back home? Nope, but it is a serviceable and edible version that will get the job done. It is long on salt and low on other flavors. It's better than the Longhorn Steakhouse version and way better than the frozen plastic wrapped bricks that you're going to get at Denny's or some similar place. When I ordered it, it came accompanied by some truly uninspired mashed potatoes and some corn so heavily seasoned that it was suffering an identity crisis. (There's nothing wrong with corn people...enjoy it.) I was happy to see that Ted's uses white peppercorn gravy on it (an improvement from a few years back when I was served some sort of abomination of nature that had --gasp--brown gravy).
Anyway, lest this sound too critical, my wife and I had a good time and a good dinner at Ted's and left happy. You probably will too. It's just hard to find a decent chicken fried steak around here. Time's they be a changin' my friends.
My qualifications: I grew up in Kansas, and traveled extensively in the Midwest, stopping at diners, truck-stops, and mom-and-pop restaurants that have elevated this dish to an art form. My aunt made the best one ever.
P.s. Don't get the mac & cheese.
Nice brunch choices... I had an omelette, but my friend had steak salad. We both enjoyed the yummy bloody Marys
Was fine. Nothing spectacular but solid.
Food is always good and the staff are very friendly. This is a nice casual place to eat.
