Seems that the service keeps getting worse and worse every year I go.
Wonderful atmosphere and helpful staff
Average quality food, good service, about reasonable pricing, decorations could be better.
Atmosphere was great, staff also very helpful. Food was good but not what I was expecting. pasta dishes were lacking flavour.
Amazing service and amazing food. Overall great first time experience
The general atmosphere of the restaurant was very pleasant. The server and the bartender was very attentive. The grilled calamari was a bit burned. The main courses were average though. The coffees were excellent.
Sat on the beautiful second floor - just lovely! Food and service were great. Only complaint is that the music was pretty loud so made it a bit challenging to have a conversation with our group.
Very busy last night and food and ambiance is always great at Terroni. I go there at least twice a month. However last night the server could not be found. When we asked another server to order something, she rudely said I’m not your server and just walked away.... hmmm?
Great food, nice service, a bit noisy but a really lovely evening overall!
The food at Terroni is overpriced and very mediocre. Our expensive cheeseboard had three very similar mild white cheeses and one of the meats tasted like bad sandwich bologna. My $25 pasta, the special of the day, was a gummy gnocchi. My friend's salad had a bland chickpea patty. Our server was fine, but checked in on us once. Had he inquired more I would have happily voiced our concerns. I would not go back or recommend -- for that price, you could have an amazing experience at somewhere unique and outstanding, like Buca!
The braised lamb pasta was excellent - pasta itself was ok, but the lamb and sauce were delightful. My friend had a capon-stuffed pasta of the day, which was good, but lacked flavour - it was like it was missing something to round it off.
Our servers were most patient while we struggled to read the whole, long menu. So that was nice. It was also nice that the staff paid attention to the fact that we were headed out to a show. We had allowed oodles of time, but they moved quickly for us nevertheless.
Great food. Fresh tasty. Great cannolis
Came here for a birthday celebration for the first time and was overall very happy! We ordered the carpaccio, a pizza and a pasta dish and everything was delicious. I knocked a few points off because it was really noisy and we felt a little cramped at our table seated next to another table and had very little elbow room. I also was a little disappointed that they charged us for what I was expecting to be a complimentary birthday dessert (tiramisu) as normally restaurants do not charge you for this. For two people we ended up spending around $130 with tip included.
Great food, beautiful location, service was a little slow since they were really busy. Would go back again for sure!
Portions could be bigger since it is an Italian restaurant. Overall was great. Waiter was outstanding, very knowledgeable. Staff were friendly. Would come back again.
Was a great experience...will definitely be back. Good time
We really enjoyed our time there!! Great food and service. Thanks
Great date apoy
My initial thoughts when walking through the door where positive, it certainly is a very “pretty” restaurant. Almost immediately though it headed downhill. The host asked if we had a reservation, I gave her my name and this was the last she spoke to us. Just silence for a minute or two until someone else returned to the host stand and escorted us to our table. We where in the room to the left as we walked past the host stand. A room which is set to accommodate an excessive amount of guests, which created a noisy atmosphere and a feeling likened to that of a canned sardine. On to the menu, and the small note on the back stating that changes to menu items are unwelcome (unaccommodating and rude in my opinion). The calamari was fairly tasteless and overpriced for the size and quality. The pizza I ordered had arugula and ham. Arugula was given freely, and in excess and the ham was rashoned carefully (which is often the case in restaurants). The wine I was given was lovely but again overpriced all things considered. I would expect to pay those prices in a high end place but Terroni almost feels a little like a regular, low end Italian that’s wrapped up in a fancy exterior. I will point out the our server was polite, efficient and did select wines that both of us enjoyed. She was possible the only thing I scored highly about Terroni.
Had a nice evening out with group of work colleagues. Good atmosphere and food came out well timed for a group so no one was waiting long.
Good food and service but was just too noisy to have a decent conversation.
Loved that we got a private room! It was perfect! Thank you!!!
It was my daughters 16th birthday on Wednesday so her choice of restaurant. Food was good. Service all round terrible. Requested a glass of wine after being seated for 30 minutes, was never offered another and when finally towards the end of the evening was asked for my glass thought our server might have realized how terrible his service had been but he was just clearing the table. Lol, before offering dessert.
We booked Terroni for a business lunch and the food and service was fine. The ambience, however, and the unrelenting bass drum soundtrack made it impossible to have a conversation. We left as soon as possible in order to discuss in a relatively quiet setting the business issues we had intended to speak about over lunch. It amazes me that restauranteurs with a location in a business district don’t understand that at noon hour most customers are also there to discuss business and incredibly loud music makes it impossible.
My only main complaint with Terroni for a business lunch was the DJ playing house beats in the background. Didn’t really fit with the rustic Italian vibe of the place. Food was delicious, although one of our orders was mistakenly put in and we had to wait quite a while for the correct dish to be brought to us.
Not the best service. Charcuterie platter brought our post mains. Have had better meals and service there before so will not judge them by this one time. I believe it was just very busy today and maybe they were short staffed.
Having heard for years how great Terroni is, I finally got a chance to try it myself with a pal. Very good all around, sharing a pizza, each having own entrees. I'd go again - it's good enough, but I wouldn't say they cracked any of our dishes out of the park either.
Wonderful food especially the pizza with pears and prosciutto.
Food is always excellent here. Real Italian cooking - not phony. Great ambiance and energy.
We had another fantastic night at Terroni, dinner, service was outstanding and will be returning again soon. Thankyou.
Perhaps our evening would have been better if the server had asked how our meal was (under-cooked, under-seasoned). We were also not offered regular water and charged for bottled water. We felt rushed and, honestly, disappointed that we paid so much money for the sub-par experience.
This was for a family birthday (my mom and nonna’s birthday’s). We wanted it to be special for my nonna because she turned 93. We had a nice time together but overall the service was really disappointing.
Yes and no. I felt the pizza was just ok...and given that this is an Italian restaurant, I expected more. I also felt rushed. A hostess walked by our table with her clipboard and very noticeably stared at our table and the amount of food we had left, gauging when we would be done. Not cool.
Overall the food was good and the service was decent. Our seats however, were very low, deep lounge chairs that did not have any back support and we wished there had at least been a pillow so we could sit close enough to the table.
great seating upstairs... the music was a little loud for lunch... a bit challenging to carry on conversation. great food & service
Very relaxed atmosphere and attentive but unitrusive staff... and great food to boot!
Food was pretty good the home made pasta lacked flavor.
While the food was great, we felt quite rushed and it felt like they wanted us out of there from the beginning of our meal. Our server was quite cold, and we felt unwelcome.
The food tasted great! Great old school receipes with unique flavoring. Portion sizes a little small. Meatballs were outstanding! Can’t believe they charge for extra bread even if you have a party of four! Not cool 😡Our server spent a lot of time with us at the end of the night and was an good ambassador for Toronto. Recommend but we were able to get a private table. Seems like a lot of restaurants in Toronto seat you at long tables next to other patrons.
