Shannon the server was fantastic. Ambience is second to none and the food was delicious.
Will definitely come back.
Delicious and very authentic. We had an amazing anniversary dinner; it was fun to try something different. We highly recommend this great restaurant.
We spent a nice time there with group of friends. Food was great, served in timely fashion giving us opportunity to talk.
The Food was great,!! This is a really nice place to go.
Always a great choice!
Second time here, food was amazing, delicious. Will most definitely return.
Enjoyable meal on a busy Saturday evening. 4 different starters and entrees - all were nicely presented, very tasty, generous servings, and the plates were cleaned. Service was attentive and knowledgeable.
A nice destination, close to Calgary.
We have been there before a few times and expected an authentic German dinner, as it was before. But, unfortunately that was not the case. I had the wild boar dish, which I had before and it was delicious. Not this time, the meat was tough although pink on the inside. Also, this should be served with red cabbage and not some sort of salad??. My husband had the liver which was usually delicious. Again, not this time. The liver itself was good but the side was kind of a shredded salad?? and potatoes. This dish used to be served with mashed potatoes, fried onions and apples as it should be!
Overall we were disappointed with the quality of the food. Beer was good as was the service!
We found everything to be very good. We enjoyed the food the very tasteful soft music and the setting was excellent. Also the service was good. Will come again Thank you.
As always, the service was fantastic and food was incredible .
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was excellent. The food was creatively displayed and cooked to perfection. Great setting and nice cozy food menu.
The atmospheres was great and the food good. I would try there special next time or something other than the schnitzel, it was good but nothing outstanding.
The first time we went first dinner on a Wednesday night. It was wonderful. The service was perfect, the food was fantastic and it was well worth every penny. We recently went for late lunch on a Sunday and it was not near what it was the first time we went. The service was just ok. Half the food was wonderful but the other half wasn't so good. We were surprised that there wasn't German music being played instead of the operah music. Not sure if we will return.
The food was too salty, veg was undercooked - potatoes were crunchy and inedible. Portion sizes were wildly variable between different dishes.
Birthday dinner with Grandparents. All the staff were very nice!
Nice restaurant with good food. It is worth the drive
The food and service were fantastic! We had the rouladen and the schnitzel. Highly recommend!
Great location and feel in the restaurant. We started with the daily special soup, cream of leek and pear. The soup was warm, not hot and it was very bland. It had no taste and we wondered if the chef forgot the salt. Disappointing.
Another member of the group had the goulash soup, again under seasoned and only warm. Also had the Maultaschen. They were fine.
For mains we had Pork hock. Very good. Pork Jager, underseasoned. Cordon Bleu, better but still under seasoned. Finally we had the Schupfnudeln, no seasoning and no flavour, disappointing.
For dessert, Black Forest Cake, no sugar or vanilla in the whipped cream, not what we expected. The Apfel Strudel was very good. The Brule was also very good. The rhubarb crumble was again, less than described. It was more like stewed rhubarb and grapefruit with a small amount of granola.
Overall dissapointing. Usually German food is rich and flavorful but we didn't experience that here this time. I would mention that this isn't our first time here, but with this many misses, I am not sure I would come back any time soon.
Service was fine with only one oops that can be forgiven.
The Bavarian Inn had some amazing food but the customer service was very poor. The waiter didn't tell us what their special was, she seemed very rushed and didn't take the time to provide that level of service for a nice restaurant like this. We were never asked how our food was, we got brought someone's appy and my husbands food slid half away off of his plate when the waiter put it on the table. I also mentioned when making our reservation that it was our Anniversary and there was nothing said about it.
Very nice restaurant with good service.
The ambience is very good and the staff are very friendly.
The food was outstanding.
We were only customers. Flies were everywhere and the food took forever and at best it was disappointing
Food was top notch, just really slow service and it wasn't that busy. But overall I still really love this place.
Very disappointed. We’ve been here a number of times before and enjoyed it. However this time it was really noisy and hot and my meal was undercooked and not very appetizing. When I advised the waitress she didn’t acknowledge it at all. I know she was extremely busy but there were eight of us and the meals were all over $50 each. Will think twice before going back.
My family and I always liked this restaurant, the food and the service. This time we were disappointed. Even the place was renovated, there were a lot of flies. When we pointed this to the waitress she said that she can't do anything and she will give us $5.0 if we kill the flies. Seriously? This kind of answer is not acceptable expecialy in a place where food is served. I can imagine if a Food inspector visit this place. I will recommend the management to contact the pest control. I won't go to this place in the near future.
The food was not like before. The borscht was very greasy and the veggies undercooked.
Reasonably authentic, great setting in the summer however the 'wasps' on the patio were totally unacceptable. Patrons left periodically because of this, before finishing their meal, never a good thing. And it's a problem easily overcome at minimal cost to the owners.
Will most definitely be going back! Great service, food was great.
The food is ok , but not as good as it used to be. Liver has changed how it’s served, also smaller portions. Schnitzel was a decent portion. I’ll eat there if I’m in Bragg Creek, but won’t make a special trip to go there.
The food was amazing. The menu had a varity of unique items to choose from. Service was very good. The beer and wine menu was extensive.
Overall an excellent dining experience. Highly recommend them to my friends.
We were group of 4 adults and 2 children. We had to wait 45mins before we were asked for drinks and it was over an hour before got a drink. Waitress were rushed of their feet and one particular waitress was not having a good day and she came across abrupt /rude. We order Champaign and that arrived warm. It was an hour half before we got our food. If it wasn't for two hungry children we would have left the restaurant. We did not stay for the full meal and overall the experience was bad. Not planning to return there any time soon and we certainly would not be recommending them.
We dined on the patio. It was a beautiful evening and although the meals took a while to arrive, we still enjoyed the ambience of pine trees, nature etc. while waiting for dinner.
As we left to pay our bill, the server was probably just trying to be efficient and collected the plates from another table, piled them onto ours and tipped their left over food onto our plates, some of which spilled (a small amount) onto my lap. We never said anything, but perhaps more education in this area could improve matters. Would definitely return to the restaurant, the staff are very courteous, food very good - the setting - lovely - just one of those things.
Took 40 minutes to get the meal after ordering.
For one dish they substituted chicken for guinea fowl.
Dumpling served with pork hocks was rancid. After speaking to both the manager and server, no apology, just offered a potato replacement. Didn’t take the rancid dumpling off the plate. Got through about half the pork hock but couldn’t get to the rest; was too hard to cut with a serrated knife. Full price of that meal was included on the bill.
Waitress was very attentive. We sat on the deck. It was sunny. Unfortunately, they were out of their pork hock, my favourite. Had the schnitzel instead, which was awesome.
We've been going to this restaurant for several years. Ownership has changed, including the menu. Current menu is more limited as to selection. However, whatever is ordered is very good.
We went for my husbands birthday and we were a little disappointed. The food was good but we have certainly had better German food. The rouladen and pork hock lacked a lot of flavour and the pork tenderloin jager was quite salty.
We had such a wonderful evening sitting on the patio having a delicious meal with friends. The food is authentic German like my mom made. The service is excellent. The patio is in the forest with a beautiful view. We have been here many times and will keep coming.
Excellent as usual!
My girl friend commented on the Black forest cake, she said it was very dry.
I had the rhubarb crumble, it was too watery, should be more cake like to be called a crumble, and was slightly bitter.
Probably didn't need a reservation, as we dined fairy early on a Monday night and the crowds haven't arrived yet. Great service, one of the best meals we have had in a long time, and not exorbitant.
We came all the way from Banff and because of a special occasion. It was all good. The only thing I would change is: $9 for a mere handful of cucumber slices with a tad of home made dressing is a little steep. There is just no relation for 2 inches of cucumber and $9.
Our friends and us have a supper club where we go to a different restaurant every month. This month was the Bavarian Inn in Bragg Creek. Wonderful start to the evening as we were met at the door as we had reservations and they were awaiting us, nice touch. We had cocktails, nice variety, and then some wonderful appies and main courses with wine. Great restaurant to visit, enjoy and share time with your friends. In German "gemeitlichkeit"!
