My family and I always liked this restaurant, the food and the service. This time we were disappointed. Even the place was renovated, there were a lot of flies. When we pointed this to the waitress she said that she can't do anything and she will give us $5.0 if we kill the flies. Seriously? This kind of answer is not acceptable expecialy in a place where food is served. I can imagine if a Food inspector visit this place. I will recommend the management to contact the pest control. I won't go to this place in the near future.
The food was not like before. The borscht was very greasy and the veggies undercooked.
Reasonably authentic, great setting in the summer however the 'wasps' on the patio were totally unacceptable. Patrons left periodically because of this, before finishing their meal, never a good thing. And it's a problem easily overcome at minimal cost to the owners.
Will most definitely be going back! Great service, food was great.
The food is ok , but not as good as it used to be. Liver has changed how it’s served, also smaller portions. Schnitzel was a decent portion. I’ll eat there if I’m in Bragg Creek, but won’t make a special trip to go there.
The food was amazing. The menu had a varity of unique items to choose from. Service was very good. The beer and wine menu was extensive.
Overall an excellent dining experience. Highly recommend them to my friends.
We were group of 4 adults and 2 children. We had to wait 45mins before we were asked for drinks and it was over an hour before got a drink. Waitress were rushed of their feet and one particular waitress was not having a good day and she came across abrupt /rude. We order Champaign and that arrived warm. It was an hour half before we got our food. If it wasn't for two hungry children we would have left the restaurant. We did not stay for the full meal and overall the experience was bad. Not planning to return there any time soon and we certainly would not be recommending them.
We dined on the patio. It was a beautiful evening and although the meals took a while to arrive, we still enjoyed the ambience of pine trees, nature etc. while waiting for dinner.
As we left to pay our bill, the server was probably just trying to be efficient and collected the plates from another table, piled them onto ours and tipped their left over food onto our plates, some of which spilled (a small amount) onto my lap. We never said anything, but perhaps more education in this area could improve matters. Would definitely return to the restaurant, the staff are very courteous, food very good - the setting - lovely - just one of those things.
Took 40 minutes to get the meal after ordering.
For one dish they substituted chicken for guinea fowl.
Dumpling served with pork hocks was rancid. After speaking to both the manager and server, no apology, just offered a potato replacement. Didn’t take the rancid dumpling off the plate. Got through about half the pork hock but couldn’t get to the rest; was too hard to cut with a serrated knife. Full price of that meal was included on the bill.
Waitress was very attentive. We sat on the deck. It was sunny. Unfortunately, they were out of their pork hock, my favourite. Had the schnitzel instead, which was awesome.
We've been going to this restaurant for several years. Ownership has changed, including the menu. Current menu is more limited as to selection. However, whatever is ordered is very good.
We went for my husbands birthday and we were a little disappointed. The food was good but we have certainly had better German food. The rouladen and pork hock lacked a lot of flavour and the pork tenderloin jager was quite salty.
We had such a wonderful evening sitting on the patio having a delicious meal with friends. The food is authentic German like my mom made. The service is excellent. The patio is in the forest with a beautiful view. We have been here many times and will keep coming.
Excellent as usual!
My girl friend commented on the Black forest cake, she said it was very dry.
I had the rhubarb crumble, it was too watery, should be more cake like to be called a crumble, and was slightly bitter.
Probably didn't need a reservation, as we dined fairy early on a Monday night and the crowds haven't arrived yet. Great service, one of the best meals we have had in a long time, and not exorbitant.
We came all the way from Banff and because of a special occasion. It was all good. The only thing I would change is: $9 for a mere handful of cucumber slices with a tad of home made dressing is a little steep. There is just no relation for 2 inches of cucumber and $9.
Our friends and us have a supper club where we go to a different restaurant every month. This month was the Bavarian Inn in Bragg Creek. Wonderful start to the evening as we were met at the door as we had reservations and they were awaiting us, nice touch. We had cocktails, nice variety, and then some wonderful appies and main courses with wine. Great restaurant to visit, enjoy and share time with your friends. In German "gemeitlichkeit"!
The Service was slow. The orders were not correct. Waited forever for food
Amazing food, great service and a cozy atmosphere.
As I am part German, I grew up on some of this food. So seeing it again brought back great memories. German cuisine with a modern twist. :)
As always the food here is excellent, very tasty and good value for money. Service is very good and the beer was great, will keep coming back for sure.
A very special celebration, our waitress was excellent and engaged well with each of us. The food was very good but overwhelming at first as the portion was huge. However, the schnitzel was very thin, the presentation could have been more creative.
Our dinner was amazing. Server was very friendly and knowledgeable.
The food was delicious. But really small portion for a big price tag. We go there once a year for our anniversary. Portions used to be way bigger a few years ago. Also used to get a comp cocktail or dessert for special occasion. Not anymore. Great German beer, that alone makes it worth it haha!
Fantastic server - Laura
Food was fantastic and they even gave us a Proseco for our Anniversary dinner.
Overall service was excellent.
As always, the food was good. However, service was a little lacking. It was not overly busy, but we did not see much of our server. One of us asked for a water refill and it never did come. They need to pay a little more attention to the guests.
The food and service was excellent. The outside patio was amazing. Great place and atmosphere in the woods.
Always good service and food. Lovely sitting outside on a nice day. Perhaps another vegetarian/vegan option would be nice but the veggie burger was really good. Always good value for money. 👍
Good, as always. Good service, good food. A little pricey, but worthwhile. Great that they are part of the Cochrane Eagle promotion.
Amazing food, worth the drive off the highway. For lunch we had the goulash soup, chicken sandwich and Wiener schnitzel, all of it was outstanding.
The food was excellent, service was great with a very warm and inviting staff. It made Mother's Day very special!
I love this place, I have been going here for 10 yrs now! Love this place and the people are great! And omg the food is amazing!!
It was an excellent dining experience , the only thing missing was an after dinner chocolate mint which usually come with the bill at other establishments of this nature!
Food and service was very good. They didn’t kick us out even though there were no other diners in the restaurant.
Not sure about the leggings as casual dress wear for the servers?
I believe this was my 5th time at
The Bavarian Inn. I continue to come back with my husband and friends because the food is delicious, nicely priced for your portion (which are large when you order schnitzel; which we always do), the wine list is a good selection and the staff and atmosphere are great.
It's a great restaurant! The food is to die for! Authentic German food. The staff is awesome and they have a great drink menu. It's such a cozy place to be. The patio is also a hit in the summer!
I always love to go to the Bavarian Inn restaurant. Saturday night I brought a friend who had never been there before, and I was raving about how good this restaurant is. Unfortunately, on this night my friend had ordered the rack of lamb where the meat was hot but the rest of the plate was cold! I was so disappointed when I found this out at the end of our evening together. I was hoping this would be a wonderful dining experience for her, but the cold food was a real disappointment. I wished she had said something, but she didn't want to spoil the evening. My meal was from the seasonal menu. I had the halibut, and it was fantastic! It was a very busy night in the restaurant, and so the noise level was a little louder. I'm so glad that this restaurant does not crank up the music to compete with the voices! Most restaurants are horribly noisy , but here you can enjoy conversation in a lovely environment.
It was our granddaughter 18th birthday and everything from the time we arrived to the appetizers, main course and desserts was fantastic. The staff the food and location where more than we expected. We would highly recommend this location to all our family and friends.

Saturday, we had a dinner at your restaurant. The food was good, but service was one of the worst we had for a long time. The server was a long blonde hair with a pony tail – don’t know her name.
1. After we ordered, she asked if we want the mushroom souse on the side, giving us the impression that it was part of the meal. To our surprise at the end, it was an extra $4.00.
2. Had to ask her twice to bring salt and pepper.
3. She took my ginger ale away when I was ¾ finish with it without asking.
4. We ordered one carrot cake split in two and put it in two plates. Had to ask her twice and still the cake arrived on one plate and that’s it. Then, I explained it to another server that we ordered one carrot cake split in two and put it in two plate. We received one carrot cake on a plate and 2 extra plate.
5. Had to ask for the bill twice.
6. Once we received the bill the third person was charged with the carrot cake – she never order it.
7. We had too explain it to her again.
All in all we came out from your restaurant with a bad experience.
Great restaurant, food was amazing, portions were HUGE! Would like to see 1/2 sizes of meals so that one could enjoy appy’s.
