The Beach House Restaurant - Victoria
Would have given 5 stars but were out of 2 things on the normal menu. Everything else was excellent, will definitely be back.
Great setting and fabulous service, the only thing I would have to mention is the noise level. I realize that we were there on a Friday night and there is a lounge/pub atmosphere on upper lever, to bad it couldn't be separated somehow. Other than that is was very good!!
Service is a hit or miss for us. Food is ok. Great location sort of makes up for it.
We were celebrating my 70th birthday and the whole experience was perfect!
Great food and ambiance! A perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, or to just take in a meal after a walk on the beach!
Great service! Willing to help with everything! Noise was loud so a bit hard to hear dinner mates
Beautiful view, and Delicious food as usual. We went to the restaurant for a work lunch and everyone was able to find something to eat and everyone enjoyed their meal.
We had an excellent experience for my husband's birthday lunch with friends. Much better than the one we had for my birthday dinner in November. So happy to see the quality all round has been approved.
I NORMALLY COME WITH MY INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS , I LOVE THIS PLACE
We all ordered fish and chips. One piece halibut. 2 piece cod and one piece cod. My one piece cod was so small I had to order a second piece. But, that being said it was very good in flavour. The gal that ordered the halibut was very happy. We felt that all of the cod pieces could have been bigger.
I would recommend for a daytime meal unable to see the wonderful views in the dark.
Always consistently good food, in a lovely room with a view.
Good food! Quite large portions..... Staff was very attentive
Canadian Pizza was very disappointing. Tough and doughy.
The service was lovely and the view superb.
The last time I was there I had the catch of the day which was wonderful....crusty salmon over risotto. Lots of good veggies.
Awesome!! Excellent salad! Fantastic service, I’ll be back!!
Despite a reservation several days in advance, my party and I were seated at a table which appeared to be an additional table added to the seating area as it did not match any of the other tables or seats. That was not the problem, rather it was that it seems to be additional seating as it was situated directly beside the front door. That made for an unpleasant experience every time a person entered or exited as the temperature was well below zero that night. When asked for one of the many other tables I was told I would have had to had requested a window in my reservation to have one of those, (hard to believe ALL the other reservations specified a window). My drink then arrived and after I poured some of my beer into it, I noticed the lipstick in two places on the rim. I advised the waitress who apologized and gave me a clean glass. When the meals arrived, one person in our party had the fresh catch special. Approximately a third of the way through the meal, a LONG GREY HAIR was found wrapped in and around the vegetables. The waitress removed the meal and asked if she would like another. With no appetite after that, she declined. The manager initially took 50% off that one meal and when I told him I did not expect to pay for that meal which could not be eaten, he said he would remove the meal, yet never apologized for the incident. Not what I expected from The Beach House.
We had an amazing dinner with a seat on the water that was private and very quiet. It was a beautiful sunny Sunday and the ocean view was spectacular. I highly recommend going when it’s a sunny day the view is well worth it. The food was excellent, great for my dietary needs of gluten and dairy allergies. Our waiter was on top of everything we needed before we even needed it. We will definitely be going back, it was an excellent evening out with friends.
Great meal - amazing features for Valentines Day.
This place is fairly close to us so I would really like to like it! We've been here a few times since it opened. a friend told us it had improved so we returned for a Valentine's dinner. The last times we were here it was trying to be a more upscale gourmet restaurant but now it does seem to have found its niche. The food is very simple - fresh and tasty but not just food I could have made at home but food I could have made quite quickly at home. The atmosphere on the water is always special although when its dark and cold we didn't get to enjoy it. Service was good - still the young I think not so experienced staff but everything went smoothly even though it was a fairly busy night. The cocktail and the wine was good. My main quibble is the price - it does seem high for what you get. But other than that nothing to complain about.
Birthday celebration! Lovely, in spite of the wind storm creating power outages. Pleased with the friendly service, and the marvellous window view of whitecaps on the ocean.
Restaurant was really busy when we arrived, waited quite a while to be seated, although we had a reservation and we could see an empty table. Pleased to have this table by the window on a sunny crisp day. Waitress very pleasant, if exceedingly busy. Food was well-received after quite a wait. Chips were over browned, coleslaw in tiny tartar sauce cup. Overall, we enjoy coming here, for the location outside downtown, the lovely view, and the acceptable food . I take visitors here, knowing we can enjoy chatting while we wait.
A very poorly cooked series of meals. The chef should be fired. Salmon was like rubber. Burgers were totally over cooked.
Within 5 minutes of sitting down to an Anniversary & Birthday celebration with friends, 4 of us, the waitress tipped her tray of a Fizzy Pink Gin drink right down my back! All over my wool coat and in my purse!
She was so flustered that the rest of the service was terrible, the manager was never notified of the extent of the mishap and so did not come to the table to offer any sort of compensation. The waitress left soggy serviettes all around our table for the remainder of dinner.
On a good note I did speak to the manager two days later and has offered a gift card and to pay for the dry-cleaning. Not sure if we will go back,
Good location and great sea views.Food was average and service was a little slow but acceptable.Good for a group gathering
Always very good service and reasonable food prices.
Very much appreciate having a window table when requested by my reservation - knowing how busy is the restaurant, I always bring several guests who are visiting.
First time visit. So first impressions were good. Food was excellent. Wait staff were good so not a bad first impression
It was so good we went back the next day! Great house white wine 😊 We will be back!
We went here for a birthday celebration. Although the view was stunning, I must say, the service was terrible. We waited over an hour for food and our server didn’t even come by to check in. On top of that, they gave me nearly hard boiled eggs on my Benny when I asked for soft poached. When I mentioned this, the server didn’t seem too concerned and didn’t offer to have them redone. We were disappointed and likely won’t be back. So unfortunate because it has so much potential.
I booked a table for 8 for a lunch meeting for my company. They seated us on the end which was perfect. The restaurant was busy, but the noise wasn't too bad that people at the end of the table couldn't hear each other. The food was very good as usual and was prepared quickly considering the number of people in the restaurant. This place is a tried and true - go to place for date night and business!
Food was great and the service was outstanding and not rushed. I also asked for a window table and the hostess made sure that we had one so that all four of us ladies could all enjoy the wonderful view. The restaurant was not noisy so we were able carry on with a pleasant conversation. We had a very nice couple of ours there.
Since we live in Cordova Bay we have also gone to your Happy hour which also has very good food.
Great ambiance. Good service. Food could be better to get more stars.
Birthday celebration was great food, good service love the atmosphere
There was a mistake with my order - I had asked for a large bowl of mussels, and was served a small one. When I queried it, a second order was made for me to make up the difference. It was done cheerfully, and did not lessen my experience. The calamari ordered by my friend was very good.
Our reservation was for 11am for 5
Seemed a bit unorganized
Tables not ready ,not set up for our reservation of 5
I asked about brunch ( like EVERY other customer)
Told there was no brunch or breakfast or eggs
Some people left because of no brunch or breakfast
1/2 later we were told the kitchen was making a breakfast sandwich ...we all switched our orders to that
Where they came up with 16.00 is still to be questioned
All in all
Good but no one really knew what was going on there .it's unfortunate because you knew you had fully booked with customers just not sure how you would serve or what to serve
We wanted to try new restaurant for special occasion. The restaurant is nice on the water. Parking tricky. Service good though when asked for a knife told to use my butter knife. Meal was okay, salmon and ribs. Vegetables good. Probably won’t go back.
Great food and location.
Out of town visitors had a wonderful time!
Excellent. Been there many times and never disappoints
