Beautiful setting, great service. Food delicious! Just disappointed that 3 pieces of bacon counted as a double side order.

As usual, the food and the environment was great. The service on our most recent visit was not, however, up to the usual high standard. Considerably more attitude from our server than we appreciated.

To start our evening we shared and enjoyed the crab cakes, mussels in Thai broth, and calamari. Sadly, for three of the four at our table the main course selections were a little disappointing when compared against the positive impression left by the appetizers. Two ordered pork schnitzel and both diners found the meat to be under seasoned and a little tough. One ordered halibut and found it too to be under seasoned and a little plain. The wild mushroom risotto was given a favourable review by the last member of our party. For dessert Key lime pie was shared by two at our table. They declared it to be delicious and gave it a total of four thumbs up and their seal of approval...it alone is worth a visit to The Beach House Restaurant!

We had a wonderful summer evening on the patio at the Beach House, celebrating July Birthdays. Lovely view and food was delightful for the pescarians and vegetarians.

Thanks so much for accommodating our table needs.

We were a party of four and each one of us raved about our individual meals. They were delicious! The service was certainly above average and we felt very taken care of. The view of course was incredible. Jerk Seared Wild Salmon (it was spicy but oh soon good) , Soy Glazed Halibut (hubby said it was the best he has ever had), BC Mushroom Pizza (perfectly balanced) and Wests Coast Paella (our friend's wife kept taking bites too!). It is not your typical "beach fare" and we were pleasantly surprised!

Menu is a bit thin but pricey burgers add a lower cost alternative to higher priced entrees. It was a Friday night and the booming bass from music being played upstairs began toward the end of our meal which affected the ambience. Beautiful view and well prepared food.

Service disappointing. On entering was passed by several staff members without a greeting. Table service attentive at first but seemed we were forgotten after we received our meal. No follow up if all was ok. Had to ask for a desert menu from the staff member clearing tables. Don’t recall a thanks for coining when we were leaving.

We made the reservation the day before by recommendation of a friend who also has not been there but heard from others that it was an amazing view (from all tables) and good food. Considering we were from out of province we were not familiar with the inside layout of the restaurant and didn't know beforehand that the window seats were the real view seats.

We were seated in a corner with no view and when we requested one of the 3 available window tables. We were told that they were already taken by other reservations. About few minutes after we were seated a couple other tables were seated at non-window tables. When someone from both those tables requested a window table, they were immediately moved to the requested table.

The food was good although a bit overpriced.

Considering our overall experience I don't know if I would recommend this restaurant or return to it the next time I visit Vancouver Island. All 4 of us left somewhat disappointed.

Everything was as we had wished - the on-line reservation was easy to book, our table was ready and, as requested, a window seat, servers were very pleasant, food was brought as we had ordered and on time, scenery was unsurpassed, ambience in restaurant was noticeable. A perfect lunch and we will return!

On Canada Day, we booked a lunch reservation inside with my family. The view is outstanding! The inside was warm and quaint. Our waitress was excellent but she did not come back to finish the payment? We finally got our bill from another person? My cobb salad was excellent. I ordered a lemonade. It was so sour that I could not drink it. It tasted like pure lemon juice. The others in my group liked their food.

Service was very, very good. Although the waiter was young, he had an excellent knowledge of the wines. He was attentive when needed and unobtrusive when not.
Food was very good. Well presented and tasty.

The food was excellent. My hubby had the burger with bacon and cheddar in it and said it was the best one he's had out in years. I had the Salmon burger which was cooked perfectly and our friend had the chicken burger which was also delicious. The service was efficient and friendly. The outside patio breathtaking. It was our friend's birthday and they brought a complementary desert that was just the right amount, beautiful and delicious. The menu is not huge but everything we had was fresh and tasty and the portion size generous. We will most definitely be back.

The cook should stop trying to make interesting combinations and play up the main elements of the dishes. Everything we ordered was overwhelmed with spices and sauces. The paella was so spicy, we couldn't taste the different elements (different fish, seafood and sausage), and couldn't finish it. The server didn't seem to care, when she came to take away our almost full plates and we told her why. Had indigestion for the rest of the night. We regret choosing this place for our only night out in the Victoria area (weekend away from the Mainland).

Great location, ambience and view. Staff were also very friendly and attentive.

Food was good but the lamb shank lacked seasoning. It was cooked perfectly but void of flavour. Not sure if it was an off day for the food prep staff or it was intended that way. Will have to try again for comparison. Two out of a party of four had the lamb and agree it was definitely missing flavour. The other two had no complaints with there dishes. Overall the food was pretty good. There just isn't a lot of places to have good lamb in Victoria. I was hoping this would be one of them.

Love the food, the views and the service and will continue to dine here but I find this restaurant very loud. Raised voices are necessary to carry on a conversation across the table, which really takes away from the experience.
