The Beltliner, named for the old streetcar that ran down 12th ave in the early part of the last century, is a modern and casual interpretation of the classic diner.

We offer a menu crafted with local, seasonal, artisanal and handmade ingredients.

Our goal is to continually offer the freshest, most innovative, playful takes on diner fare in a fun and approachable setting. We take those classic diner staples you would expect and elevate them with great produce and modern techniques. Serious cooking while not taking ourselves too seriously.

Very disappointing breakfast. Used to be the best in town. Portions are smaller, quality is not their in the food, the hash was anemic and looked like it had come out of a grocery store freezer. Plus charging $2.50 for 2 grapes a strawberry and 2tbsp of chopped melon in replacement of 2 slices of toast and hash is extortion.

Good breakfast spot. Nothing fancy, but good quality, well prepared comfort food. Loved the hollandaise on the eggs benny. The side of bacon on another meal was pretty boring - not worth it. Thin, crispy, nothing to write home about. Service was on the ball, and not intrusive. French toast was a bit on the undercooked side. Sausages were delicious, and overall flavours were good.

Great Eggs Bennie but seem to have downgraded their accompanying potatoes to a packaged one vs the homemade one. Disappointing.

Great breakfast AGAIN! 2 for 2 Beltliner, when we come to Cgy we come to the BL for breakfast. Sometime we’ll stop for lunch or supper …. I’ll bet it will be great as well! thanks

Extremely disappointed! No need for a reservation as the place was dead. I counted a total of NINE staff members on a Saturday for brunch... with only 3 of them actually working (2 in the kitchen). The rest were visibly hung from the night before, standing around the coffee machine making their hang over beverages, talking about what they got up to the night before. I get it...it's stampede and everyone is partying, but honestly if the staff wanted to chat about their night, it should be done out of earshot of customers! The food was mediocre at best and was WAY over priced for what you actually get! perhaps they have to charge so much because they staff 9 people to stand around doing nothing. This was extremely disappointing as most restaurants I have reserved from open table are usually very good. This one falls flat in a BIG way! It was our first and most certainly our LAST time.

Our server was so sweet (I forget her name) but she provided my friend and I and her dog great service on the patio. The food was really tasty as well!

Having a lunch with friends and 4 little babies, service was great! Very accommodating to seat us in the corner table and making sure we were all comfortable and settled in. Kevin went out of his way multiple times to make sure we taken care of and it did not go unnoticed! Food was delicious, iced coffee and caesers were a huge hit as well!

Food was over cooked, it seemed to have been left on warmers too long. Ordered a breakfast poutine and sauce was clumpy and ordered egg poached soft, it came out hard.

Server was very friendly, food was delicious but a little pricy for something that is a staple brunch menu item (over $20 for eggs Benny). The chairs for the raised 8 person table top were not comfortable with small seating area and small lower back support. As a plus size person, they were a low point for sure. Otherwise, love the food, the ambience, and build your own Caesar option!

Kevin was a fabulous host. He kept our coffees full, made sure our guest with celiac was cared for, and got our food to us in a timely fashion. Strongly recommend!

The menu is very skinny for someone having an egg allergy. I ordered the breakfast poutine w/o the egg and hollandaise and that’s exactly as it came. First, it didn’t look like any poutine that I’ve ever had. Wedge fries do not make a good poutine and the cheese curds looked like it was simply melted cheese. In retrospect I would have expected the hollandaise to have been substituted with a gravy. All in all, a very uninspired and not an enjoyable meal.

Several issues with food and the restaurant only had 4 tables being weighted on during this time. Burgers were sent back twice for being burnt. Other food didn't arrive and when asked, it arrived under-cooked. Salad had a beard hair at the bottom. Chef had a beard 🤨. Won't be returning.
