   Used this for a family dinner after getting married in banff. We didn’t rent the space out just reserved an 8 person table. We were promptly seated with little to no wait (not that it matters with the stunning views to behold). Cocktails were good, food was cooked perfectly and came at the correct speed and timing. The wait staff was very accommodating (special shout out to Sophie). We skipped speeches and toasts just because there were other families in the area and at times it was hard to hear. Everyone tried the chowder A+, got some starters to share, and then did their special fish with a dessert at the end and the next day everyone commented on how satisfied they were. Make sure you reserve early as it fills up asap!

   Lived up to all expectations and then some...my wife had the halibut and I had the rack of lamb for our entrees. We shared a Caesar salad and the Barreto appetizers. Presentation, service, and most importantly the cuisine were all excellent. We don't typically write a review but The Bison was a cut, way above, well done !

    Food was incredible. Our server Chris was also awesome, he was very knowledgeable with the wine menu and was not pushy with anything. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a nice sit down place to eat.

    Servers were fabulous!!! Food was not at all to our taste. Caesar salad had anchovies which were not listed in the ingredients. Beet and seasonal fruit - so so. There was either the beet or fruit that we had - we couldn’t tell but we didn’t see both on our plate. Our main dish was bison with gnocchi- it was ok but not at worth all the hype or the price.

    We tried The Bison on a whim to celebrate the start of our honeymoon and boy are we glad we did! Their food is incredible with creative and explosive flavours. We enjoyed every dish and drink brought to us. Our server was also super nice and helped us a lot with her recommendations. We ordered the seared scallops, southern maitakes, Bison ragu with gnocchi, and for dessert, a chocolate pave with black cherry sorbet! All of this was gluten free, which is just unheard of for us! We will definitely be back and recommend The Bison to all!

    Remarkable experience and totally creative and delicious food! We went for dinner with friends and everyone loved the service, food and cocktails. Our server Nicholas was terrific- really helpful, informative and fun. Best cocktails we’ve had in Banff (and were on vacay so we’ve had a few…). But people- get here r now for the food. The Caesar salad was literally perfect. How did we not know that bacon lardons are the best croutons ever? The dressing is sublime, flavorful and exactly the right amount. The fried miatake mushrooms are not to be missed. Like nothing we’ve had before, but now we need to have them again. Beet salad and the mushroom pappardelle were both excellent. Chocolate pave dessert was also unique and delicious. We’ll be back!!

    Very disappointing experience. Bison burger was small, average to below average in taste and overpriced. Martini was a small pour and expensive. Hostess seating us was abrupt and borderline rude. They didn’t have a specialty drink listed on the menu because only “one bartender knew how to make it and he wasn’t there that night”. Wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.

    My Tenderloin was cooked perfectly. Our waiter recommended Medium cooked for the Lamb My wife wanted Medium Rare, but went with the recommendation & wished she had gone with Medium Rare. Very Tasty but a Wee bit overcooked. ,

    My husband & I dined with my father as well as my daughter who is living & working in Banff. Bison is by far our favourite restaurant in Banff. The food is outstanding from the delicious apps (beet salad, burrata & cod were all incredible) to the mains - the halibut melts in your mouth, the tomahawk steak was fabulous and the sticky toffee pudding was the best we have ever had! The service is above & beyond with such attention to detail! Thank you Nick! And a shout out to Steve, the bartender, thank you for the best martini in Banff & for your fabulous service! Can’t wait to go back to this amazing restaurant!

    Fabulous service and view. The scallop small dish along with the mushroom pasta were excellent. The vegetarian eggplant dish and bison ragu were just okay. Dessert, however, was over the moon.

    Our experience at Bison was incredible. The starters were both unique and delicious. Even the Caesar salad had a unique dash of flavor I’ve never had in the hundreds of Caesar salads eaten in my life. The service was excellent. Jill explained all of the intricacies of each dish and offered modifications based on our dietary restrictions. There are excellent non-meat option with multiple fish dishes and many vegetarian based offerings that were so good. The ambience was amazing and they had a musician playing acoustic guitar in the dining room. Nice touch. If you can get a reservation here, don’t pass it up. I’d you can get more than one resi, take it, you won’t be let down. Best meal and dining experience in Banff. Try the Mich roll pasta and beet salad starters. Wow! Taste buds will be very happy even if those don’t normally appeal to you. The black cod crisp was excellent, but it is prepared in a ceviche meets sashimi style and is served cold. Delicious, even if it wasn’t what we expected. Apricot toffee dessert was delicious and unique. Fresh sorbet was FRESH and homemade and it was refreshing and like an explosion of flavor once it entered the mouth. Enjoy! And thank you.

    A great spot to celebrate our anniversary. Though pricy, we had a great time, from the ambience, our server, the live music (young lady singing and playing guitar) to our drinks and food. We started our meal with a glass or wine and a smoked old fashion, the old fashion was amazing. We ate the burrata which was exceptional. My wife had the bison ragu over gnocchi which was a bit underwhelming as it didn't have any sauce and a bit over cooked all around. But the bison ribeye was the best steak we've ever had, beat our former best steak from Italy and even beat the wagu we had a couple years back. Amazingly Fatty, a clean melt in your mouth fat that was between butter and bone marrow. The steak was cooked perfectly and paired so well with the other falvours on the plate. Again it is very pricy but we're very happy to have chosen this place to celebrate our anniversary.

    The value is quite poor. We ordered a starter for $30 of scallops. The plate arrived with 2 extremely small scallops (a bite a piece) in a lovely sauce. This was the best thing we ordered but very skimpy. My rack of lamb (again2 small chops) was tough. My husband’s bison ribeye at $89 was quite ordinary and served with carrots. The server plus two helpers was unable to open the bottle of wine. It arrived at long last with a mangled cork and was very vinegary. It is the first time in my life I sent the bottle back. Little plates adorn the table when you arrive but no food is ever offered, such as bread or rolls. I guess they are just there to hold the napkin. We left hungry and unfortunately were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I cannot recommend this overpriced place for food or staff.

    Oh my gosh, the bison burger was absolutely delicious! We also ordered the bison ribeye, which was ok. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The prices were a bit high for the portion size but I would return for that burger again!
