Birthday for the niece ...would be nice if Alice of cake was offered for b days on the actual day of
H/H appies are great but a bit pricy. Same for H/H wine - 9oz house wine for 10.50!!!
Hope the expected new main menu in December will have better prices.
We had a great time at dinner for our family of four. Waiter was great and food well presented.
Friendly staff, gorgeous view and extensive menu. It is a bit pricey but worth it. Noise level a little high as it is a family restaurant.
I would definitely go back.
Nice place for a special occasion.
Kitchen service was much slower than on previous occasions, not the fault of our server, though. Other tables that had been seated after us were served before us. The location, setting and view of English Bay and Kits Beach are lovely, so the prices reflect these attractions.
Some congrats hostess station. Younger couple seated after us were seated at a table for 4 at the window We were not even though the table was open. Food was ok. Caesar salad was bland. Service was excellent.
Went for an afternoon lunch with kids. Sat right away and then waited 20 plus minutes before order was taken. Waitress seemed flustered and dropped her pen twice while taking order and the juice glass my son was drinking out of had black stuff all inside it. The waitress was kind enough to offer a free dessert which we said no to (as we had a birthday to go to with cake) and she brought it anyway. Beautiful view but overall not going back anytime soon
We initially went into the bar area and had some appetizers. They were very tasty and were greatly enjoyed. We then went into the main dining area. Although it was cold on the windows we didn’t mind. The girls were great advising us they could give us blankets if needed. We then ordered the special steak and lobster dinner. We were at first disappointed as we had to ask for bread. Then when the meal came we were truly disappointed. The steak was very fatty...very poor quality (although cooked perfectly) and the lobster was rubbery. It was just a disappointment. My husband had also mentioned it was my birthday when booking reservations and there was no mention of this. We were disappointed in our evening and if we ever returned would only return for happy hour if that.
Food was awesome. Service was a bit slow.
Very beautiful view, but very expensive and the vegan burger is not good.
Restaurant is very nice. Location and view is great.
Food: Coconut shrimp and oysters very good. Nice to have bread included. Drinks we had Caesar and mojito. Caesar was ok/good. Mojito was too sweet. Entrees we had seafood chop salad and Ravioli. Chop salad was bad, the salmon was so overcooked and salad was very bland. Ravioli was very good, quite rich but so much better than the salad.
Service: very bad, our server would ask us about food just took orders.
The shrimp was terrible the share platter was a huge bowl of gross dip surrounded by deep fried bar food
But the worst was the waiter REEKED of cigarettes
Our bill was over $200 tiny portions as well
Definately will never go back!!
We had a wonderful experience at the Boathouse! Friendly staff, great fine food and lovely view!
The view is beautiful, the food isn’t worth the price . Next time I have company in town I’ll take them to blue water cafe for food , and take them somewhere after for a view
Very loud - bad acoustics. Everyone has to shout to be heard. The food was decent, not exceptional. Service was good. We fortunately got seated just as the sun was going down, but while we were waiting for our table it was difficult because the sun was shining directly in the windows and very glaring. So if you go before sunset, wear sunglasses. They don't have shades on the windows, as the view is the selling point. It was fine once the sun went down, still light enough to see the view.
I always enjoy going to the Boathouse as it is a beautiful venue with the big glass windows facing the beach and mountains offering a spectacular view of our city. It's also spacious so guests don't feel cramped at their tables. The servers are friendly and accommodating.
The Boathouse at Kits Beach is an awesome restaurant. It brings our West Coast lifestyle to your dinner table. This time we had a visitor from Sendai Japan joining us who loved the location, the ambiance and of course, the service (Marita) and the food and wine.
A great location for my family and our guest, a senior, who loved the location and the care given to her and us, in general. Thanks Boathouse staff - and esp. to our server - whose name I have forgotten, but who was exceptional. Please look her up from our meal on Sunday night (table of 5 and one senior with a walker) and commend her for a job well done.
Service was top notch! Seating was awkward as it felt we were having dinner with 2 other families. Food was excellent. Had the filet mignon and the potatoes were amazing. It was very loud but overall a great time.
Very noisy place, Friday night, maybe other days better. Food so so, nothing special, would not go back. Cafeteria quality
great location and great idea to give a reduced starter to Bard goers
Will come again next year and probably before
It's very nice view. The steak and the lobster deal is really good 👍🏻and it tastes great 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Service was poor, generally inattentive. Dirty appetizer plates remained on the table until after our departure. Had to refill our own wine glasses and never got asked if we wanted dessert. Empty dinner plates only picked up when we finally decided to request the check so we could leave. Week night birthday celebration where the food was okay but where the staff made it not worthwhile.
Salmon was over cooked and dry
Consistently great food.
Enjoyable dining experience
We are regulars but our request for an outside table was not acknowledged, even though we included our request in the open table notes section. We live in Kits and come all year round - not just in the good weather.
Gorgeous sunset on a warm summer night on the patio overlooking Pacific Ocean and kitsilano beach with steak & lobster!
Such a lovely place. Great food and great sunsets each time I’ve been there.
We were seated at the patio. Great seevice, very attentive waiter and excellent food. Looking forward already to our next visit!
Food and drinks are overpriced for what you get both in terms of quality and quantity - the location and view are the main reason to go there and why you pay more.
Service was fine and so was the food (although again, overpriced!) but the kitchen messed up our order, then took forever to send the right dish. The manager addressed this by giving us a generous discount on our bill, but when there’s four of you and it’s a special occasion, it’s not the bill that counts but the overall experience. In this case, it really fell short of expectations.
Fantastic view, delicious food, always reliable. Washrooms on a busy night can get very messy
Our server was attentive, kind, and pleasant. Everything came on time. I even got a special birthday cake slice. The view by the window is stunning! The ahi tuna was delicious and plentiful.
The waiter was very good. View was spectacular. Menu offerings were varied, but the menu card itself was bland (suggest add colour e.g. light green for the salad section, red for the meat and seafood section, etc.
Very nice view and amazing seafood chowder. Mocha ice cream pie is always my favorite too.
I made reservations for a window seat and notified in advance there will be a stroller but was not provided. Hostess was very unhelpful and unwelcoming. When we arrived, we were ushered to the patio. I asked for a window seat and not patio. We were then left standing wondering what is going to happen when the waitress went off. I saw her later on standing and chatting with someone else. Then, some tables were rearranged for us at the last minute. It was still not a window seat and we had to awkwardly maneuver our stroller. I there was a table available two tables over but that was reserved already and the party was late. We were on time and our table wasn't ready. Why? Thankfully the waitress was delightful and made up for the awkward and frustrating beginning of our evening there.
We had an amazing table with a wonderful view. The food was great and the server was efficient but unobtrusive
All items on my plate tasted the same and were cooked in sesame oil. Huge spiderwebs above all tables were disgusting and windows dirty. Service wS slow and would not recommend.
Stunning views and exceptional staff.
I had a mix feeling about the staffs there. The receptionist was blank face and appeared lethargic but the initial server as well as the late server were friendly. The food, in general, was ok. The best about this restaurant was the view overlooking English Bay.
