Our server’s name was Keith. From the moment that he warmly greeted us until we were ready to leave he made us feel welcome. He was very attentive and observant (for example, he overheard my sister’s name and then proceeded to address her by name from then on), familiar with the menu, had a great sense of humour yet wasn’t overbearing. I especially appreciated that he really acknowledged my Dad and made an effort to treat him especially well given that it was Father’s Day.
My last experience at this restaurant was not a positive one... this more than made up for it. Thanks Keith!

My Mum and I had dinner on the patio during the sunset. The Ahi Tuna was superb and the cocktails are delicious. Our server was delightful.

Restaurant doesn’t have air conditioning and no ventilation. . It was in full sun and
a hot day which made it unbearable. The hostess should warn people otherwise we should have walked out. I have never been so hot dinning out.
My ravioli was good and my wife’s halibut was over cooked.

Can’t beat the setting, and we were spoiled by fabulous weather. Our waiter was awesome, a friendly, humorous young man. Food fresh, well prepared, but a bit pricey for what it is. Salsa verde for the fish lacked punch, I like my home made better!!

The Boathouse is fun, pretty noisy and with outstanding views. The food was good in that the fish was not overcooked (so easy to do and seen in many restaurants) and the pairings were imaginative. The menu was reassuringly small but could have done with a couple more choices for single meals. Lots of sharing plates and that's probably because many groups go there - but we were two people eating separately as one did not like fish.

On the whole 4 well deserved stars.

It was an enjoyable dinner at a beautiful evening. My friends from Australia and I enjoyed our food a lot, in particular, the Choruzo Mussels and Mocha Pie. Moreover, we really appreciated the excellent services from Sebastian. He made our dinner memorable. When I return there for dinner next time, I will try to ask him to service us again for sure.

Entrees were very pricy. Our fish dishes were severely over cooked and dry. We asked for new fish. After another 30 minutes of waiting for new fish dishes, the new entrees were no better. Halibut and salmon equally as dry and chewy. The only saving grace was that the entrees were taken off our bill and we enjoyed a nice view of the beach from our seating. Disappointing dining experience on my husband’s birthday.

Restaurant has a wonderful setting and ambience. Food was ok, servers were attentive and friendly. And they let us stay on past the closing time, thanks!

Only complaint was the special blackened Tilapia was extremely spicy. And instead of offering to replace the dish with something else, we were given some kind of yoghurt to eat with the fish to neutralize the spiciness! Never encountered that kind of solution ever?!!

To compensate for this they did give us one slice of ice cream cake split into two to share between 9 people?! And no one from the kitchen came out to apologize 😦

Our meal was very good. The service was slow. We had to wait a long time to have our food order taken. We had to ask twice for one of our party's drink. The service was friendly, but not attentive at all. She walked by us a few times without taking our order.

Went there for our daughter's BD. Food arrived sporadically; with each dish arriving a few minutes after the other. Food was cold. Coffee was old brew (although it was changed once we complained). Soup arrived after the food (although we had asked for it to be served first), and it was a bowl as opposed to the cup we had asked for. This used to be our go to place for kids' BD celebration; not anymore. Quite dissapointed.

I really like this restaurant and this is my second time here. But It’s a little bit busy today... three waitresses asked me if I’ve made reservation (I did) but only the last one lead us to a table. And then the next ten minutes nobody came until I asked for water. But the guy was really helpful and nice when I complained this situation plus the food’s good. I guess I will come again but hopefully next time will be a better experience!

The location and view are amazing, but the food is not good for a vegetarian. The only choices were pasta, which I don't order in restaurants because generally I can make better at home, and a Beyond Meat burger. Many vegetarians don't eat meat because they dislike the taste and texture of meat. Very disappointing.

We were seated with a fantastic view of the waterfront and watched the sun go down while we dined. Our meals (sesame crusted ahi tuna with mushroom rice and bok choy for her, grilled wild sockeye salmon with potatoes and seasonal vegetables) were good (particularly the sauce around the ahi tuna, which was perfectly cooked). However, the only things that were warm on our plates were the bok choy and potatoes. Large portions were very nice but the timing of the plating was off. Cold rice and slightly overcooked salmon left us with the impression they had been left under the warming tray a bit too long before being served. Still, overall a nice evening out to celebrate our anniversary.

The quality of the food has dropped dramatically over the last 2 years. While the concepts are good, the food was improperly cooked and left us feeling a little disappointed.

We went to the Boathouse at their Kitsilano location for Mother’s Day brunch. We will not be doing that again.

Other than the location, the positives for me were their shrimp cocktail station and maybe their cheese board. And I say maybe because there were about 10 grapes and 2 strawberries in the entire tray.

Though their regular service is lovely from past visits, this buffet style brunch seemed like total chaos.

When we arrived at the front desk, I just got stared at. Not even a hi. I figured the staff were just waiting for me to give my reservation info, but that seemed odd for people who are there solely to “greet and seat” guests.

For starters, the trays used to hold the food had full on lids. Not the retractable kind you’d expect. Now if they had been enough table space to set aside this lid, that would’ve been ok. However everything was so crammed it was literally a choice between your plate on one hand, or holding the lid and serving yourself. What ended up happening was people placing lids on top of other food trays.

Back to the food tray disaster, no labeling of any kind was in place. For me it was only annoying as I’d have to lid every single huge lid to figure out what was underneath. But I expect people with any sort of allergy or intolerance would not immediately know the contents.

The dessert table has pretty dry carrot cake, and an assortment of small bars (pecan bar I believe) and cheesecake. Those were ok. What threw me off was that there were gummies in a 3 tier dessert stand. Gummy worms, gummy strips, gummy raspberries. It may be my personal preference, but I don’t consider gummies part of a “brunch”. It made the caliber of the dessert drop for me.

There was also a crepe and omelette station, also not labeled. People asked me when I had gotten my little crepe. The crepe itself, was underwhelming. It was small and dry enough that it was crunchy. I was just so disappointed by this point I tried to enjoy it as much as I could.

I think the food was just passable - bit disappointing for a mothers day brunch. the roast beef and pork were in same container so if you did not eat pork you couldnt eat beef. limited choices for adults. View was gorgeous but you can get the view just by walking or sitting on beach
