The Boathouse at Kits Beach Ratings and Reviews
La atención estuvo excelente, el lugar tiene una vista al mar y a las montañas increíble. La comida esta muy buena y precio calidad esta bien
I like the ambiance the food was really great and affordable!
Restaurant is beautiful- right on kits beach with quite a nice view. We were here for an anniversary and the food was quite mediocre for the high price tag. We had steak and crab stuffed prawns which were good but not great. Service was great.
It's a pleasant dining experience. The glass of Jackson Triggs and the base ball cut sirloin steak were a good match. The Crème Blulee was a good finish of our dinner. The waiter did just proper of serving, and no pressure throughout. We will come back.
Always a solid choice, the view on a sunny day is killer!
Unfortunately the food was not what it should be for the premium cost of NYE. Strip Steak was tough and sides were cold.
We were there for the New Year's dinner. They have a set menu.We ordered grilled Salmon ...the fish was cold and was not what we were expecting for the price tag...the plate presentation was not pleasing. The fish was very dry...we did not have too many options.
The server was good and very polite.
Will never recommend.
NYE brunch, good service and food. Brunch menu could be bigger.
Perfect place on quiet day during the holiday season to catch up with friend.
i booked this restaurant in advance for my wife's birthday and mentioned in special request notes that it was for her birthday and i would like something like a cake and candles to celebrate and they seem to not have noticed anything and didnt mention anything but they noticed our reservation on the computer with my name. I ordered the coconut cod and didnt like it and ordered the chicken burger same as my wife which tasted better but it was my first and last time to boathouse restaurant. the price is too high for the quality. i spend the same at some other restaurant and get way better food quality satisfaction and service.
This was a last minute dinner choice for a group of 13 and this Boathouse was able to accommodate. The venue is quite big and atmosphere was lively but not too loud. The food was great and the staff were very attentive. All in all a very memorable experience. Will definitely return.
Waitress was excellent. We were not hurried and she let us take our time.
We were at the Boathouse at Christmas Eve. I ate a very tasty grilled salmon.
This visit was a little disappointing because the food were just ok. The service was a little bit off. The heater was on and off all the time. We were cold. The drink tasted funny. The bread and the dessert was prob the only good part. The server did not tell us about the split plate charge, we don't really need to have that plate split. Hope there's an improvement in the near future.
We enjoyed a lovely Christmas Eve brunch with family here. We appreciated that we could enjoy the regular menu despite the special holiday. The view, as always was amazing and our server was particularly friendly and helpful, even creating a special meal for our daughter. Highly recommended.
Really disappointed experience. The server was very slow to take our order. While waiting a long time for the food, I noticed that other tables had bread so I asked another server if each table was suppose to have bread. She said yes. When our server came by to bring us our food, I asked him how come we didn't get any bread? He offered to give us bread then but our food came. No point anymore. Ordered full rack of Seafood Chowder, Baby Back Ribs and Sablefish. Chowder was fine but the Baby Back Ribs were too dry. Also the Sablefish was overcooked and not moist and soft. Only ate half the Baby Back Ribs because it was so terrible. Dry like jerky. When getting the bill, it took a long time too so we just got up and walk to the cashier and asked for the bill. It is the first time for me to do this. Overall experience was terrible.
I would say overall the experience was average. It was our wedding anniversary and we were up for a special meal. It did not turn out that way. Our hors d’oeuvres were delivered quickly and tasted fine, my chowder soup tasted right on. My main dish the seafood mix grill was good but my wife’s order she sent back when we were finally able to get the waiter. She ordered the tuna and the sauce was overpowering. It was replaced with the sablefish and she said it was so much better. The management dealt well with the problem and The restaurant did not charge us for her meal which was appreciated. I had the Creme brûlée for desert and it was delicious. She had the coffee ice cream style desert but commented on how much better mine was.
Overall the experience was good , not just what we had hoped to experience.
This is a lovely location on the beach so the view is beautiful. The service is prompt and friendly and the food is delicious. The only problem when it is busy is that the noise level is quite high.
I appreciate the attention our waitress gave to our table.
Our Christmas party was a success
The view from our table window was spectacular if you love ocean views. Our server was friendly, encouraging but not effusive. Three friends, some wine and a seafood appy platter that was perfect for a light lunch, Not my first visit, nor my last.
Food was undercooked (battered deep fried
Fish) and/or had no flavour ie. Calamari, crab stuffed shrimp Substitutions were forgotten.
Great location on Kits Beach. Attractive west coast decor, pleasant service, lots of menu options, especially seafood. A good choice for brunch, lunch, drinks or dinner with a view. Ask for a window table when reserving. No guarantee, but usually works out.
Had a lovely late lunch last Saturday with great food, ambience and service. Since it was a friends get together we lingered for quite awhile and our waiter was very patient . Will definitely return. Making a reservation was so easy with Open Table.
The food was still "good"but not great,I feel it has slipped down a notch or two.My 12oz NY steak was a little tough and flavourless and the crab dip appy was mediocre. My wife really enjoyed the stuffed prawns but I have had better experiences at this particular restaurant.Maybe it was just an off night, but I was underwhelmed this time.
It wasn’t a busy day. But the food came out slow. And waiter was always no where to be found. We were going to order dessert, but because it were taking too long we just decided to leave.no happy birthday wishes at all!
The fish for 3 was excellent. The steak wasnt the best cut. Very chewy. Also, very cold. The 4 of us were all in agreement how cold it was.
The server was excellent and the ambiance is great.
food value and quality do not justify the price. this restaurant chain has slowly gone downhill over the past 3 years.
Beautiful location, delicious food, friendly staff, we enjoyed !
Ahi tuna was excellent.
Cold ribs - had to return..
Go for the seafood and steak and forget the ribs.
Staff was friendly and attentive!
View - best one in VANCOUVER!
We always enjoy dining at The Boathouse. Also, great location.
IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DONT FIX IT My elderly mother (repeat customer) ordered the crab cake benny. Well suprise surprise, the format has changed. Long story short, my vote is to go back to the original format. Two small crab cakes with a poached egg on top------BETTER.
On a happy note I (her son) ordered a shrimp & crab omelet----delicious & perfectly prepared; not too dry & not too wet.
Great view, delicious food, friendly servers. Yum!
The food was great. The view was beautiful. Reservations where simple to make online. But the service as not good. The server didn't want to "interrupt" our conversation so it took him forever to come over and take our order. And as soon as there was the slightest indication that we hadn't decided on which wine to order he left and then we had to call him back after waiting too long again to take our order. He didn't remove our dirty appetizer plates. He poured the first glass of wine but didn't come back when our glasses were nearly empty. He never asked us how the food was. Once we were finished our dinner he literally threw the dessert menus on the table in front of each of us and walked away with out a word. He didn't come back to take our dessert order, we had to call him over again. And then when he came with our cappuccinos he just put them on the corner of the table and walked away. I've been to the English Bay location and received superb service. This was disappointing to say the least.
view of sunset over english bay again a highlight. food was just right for the occasion.
I always love to go to the Boathouse restaurant, especially one in Kits because the location is absolutely beautiful and food is good. I found the staff always kind.
I have been to the Boathouse many times, but was extremely disappointed this visit. The noise level was like a rock concert. Could not have a conversation. The service was dreadful. Kept getting the excuse “We’re busy”. Tables with large groups were getting all the attention. My guest was from Iowa and wanted to experience the ambience of the Boathouse. It was awful. It was more like a noisy pub or sports bar, with bad service. I won’t go back.
Always love here! Nice view &a nice service, thank you!
stunningly gorgeous view of the sunset somewhat undone by Dungeness crab salad that still had the shell on and a seven ounce steak that had shrunk to the size of a golf ball. the seafood curry and the salmon fillet were, on the other hand, outstanding.
