The service was really good ! The view is awesome :)
The food I had was okay... I ordered a seafood spaghetti but it doesn’t taste satisfactory :(.
The view here is breath taking. Winter or summer. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. I always get the grilled salmon burger for lunch as it’s delicious and healthy.
I ordered the lobster and shrimp gnocchi and it was terrible. The gnocchi was actually tough and it did not
taste like gnocchi at all. The lobster was not recognizable because of a heavy cream sauce.
The meal was expensive and not good at all. My husband order the lobster and shrimp poke. It
really was not poke - done poorly and not poke style.
I will say the server was excellent so we felt bad telling her about the food. She handled
it well. This place has an exceptional view but we would not recommend it to anyone.
My burger was good as was the salmon burger my wife ordered, but there could have been a few more fries and salad on the plate. Salad and fries are less expensive than the meat and fish so why skimp on those?
Ignored by our waiter. Food arrived cold.
Food was great, we enjoyed lobster fest. Our server was excellent, made our experience even better. Would recommend!
Great location facing Kits beach and sunset. Happy-Hour menu for weekdays.
A great place to take your out of town guests as the view of the beach and mountain is spectacular. Our party to 6 got a window table at noon on Thanskgiving day. It was steady but not busy. The hostess was friendly, the server was attentive, polite and also friendly. Our food was fresh tasting and well prepared. We all had a really enjoyable meal and the view of the water was beautiful.
I was so excited to have a nice (and rather expensive) meal here, and instead I was met with horrible service and food that was not worth the price. There were hardly any people in the restaurant and still it took over 10 minutes to get our drinks, another 5 to place our order, and then when we were all ready to go, it took 25 minutes to get our bill after our plates were cleared. So massively disappointed, and for a $35+ meal I expect so much better.
At 2:30pm we were surprised that the restaurant was still busy with a lot of guess arriving after us. This was a good sign. The view of the water is unobstructed and allows the guests to see the entire span of the coast. The menu had a little bit of everything and our kid loved the colouring set and the food from the kids menus. My wife and I also couldn't resist stealing the tasty french fries from our kid's plate. Our food prepared quickly, well presented and had bold flavours My wife loved her curry shrimp entree.
With the bright windows, the open dining room or all the young families nearby, this restaurant is ideal brunch and family gathering, and perhaps less appropriate for couples wanting more intimate or formal setting.
We will be back soon.
The food was tasty......when we finally got it. Very long wait. Service was good.
4 of our party had the poke bowl and were very disappointed!
My friends and I visited the Boathouse for a casual afternoon lunch. The restaurant is currently featuring a lobster menu. We tried several selections which were all delicious especially the lobster bisque and lobster vongole.
The view onto Kits Beach is lovely, the service prompt and uninvasive. Parking is very easy.
Very slow food delivery! We waited a long time for our food
Went to the Kits location for the first time, lovely experience and great service! The portion of snow crab I had was generous and delicious. Had a great bottle of local white, Sumac Ridge Gewurztraminer, that went really well with all our choices, which were enjoyed completely.
I took my son and his partner and their two children (14 and 2) for my son's birthday dinner. I mentioned on the Open Table reservation that the birthday was an occasion, but that was not acknowledged by the restaurant in any way so the information must be for their own statistical purposes.
The intial service was very prompt and we received our starters quickly, but there was a large party whose food orders went to the kitchen before ours. We had a long wait for our mains, but then dessert came quickly after that.
I found the noise level too high, everyone having to talk loudly to be heard over the music. But overall the experience was pleasant and the food when it arrived was excellent!
The place to gi for a Vancouver coast line experience
Fantastic view Great service and good food
A solid wine list
Casual fun atmosphere
Great menu selection attentive service. We got a window seat with a lovely view. It’s a beautiful restaurant. Lots of parking.
A most enjoyable lunch
A beautiful view, a great location
The Boathouse is consistent with its food and service. The food is good but a bit pricey. The view is really what makes this place special .
This was very average and very noisy. Wrong meal came out. Server was good.
I ordered the Boathouse Salad and have to say it could have been a larger portion :) Staff was great, food was good and the view is stunning!
We went there for an anniversary dinner because we got engaged there a few years ago. Even though our reservation notes anniversary, there was no mention of it. Seating and getting our food took longer than usual. There was no line up so it wasn't extremely busy. Food and service was mediocre compared to the last time we were at another Boathouse.
We are quite new to Vancouver & recently discovered The Boathouse on Kits Beach after attending “The Bard”. Beautiful view, fabulous view, good food & great service! We plan to return often😘!
The wine glass size is not mentioned in the menu-probably because it is 6 oz. We had haddock with green salad and salmon. Salad was somewhat underwhelming. The salmon was accompanied by two green beans and a pice of carrot, supplemented by quite a few boiled potatoes. I would advise fewer potatoes and more veggies. Noise level tolerable on Wed. But would be a challenge when busy. Service was good.
I love the ambiance of the boathouse with looking out onto kits Beach. The floor to ceiling windows allow you to see beautiful sunsets. Everyone enjoyed their meal just be prepared that you have to pay for parking.
Wrong dish delivered. Took long time for correct one. The Salmon was undercooked but was hungry so didn’t send it back.
The Boathouse is in a spectacular location looking out over Kits beach and our window table provided a great view as the sun set over English Bay. The table service was quick and professional, and the menu selection is moderate with a good selection of seafood dishes, as well as steak, burgers, etc... .
I had the Cab Sirloin steak, which was unfortunately a little bland and not very tender.
Check to see if I was honoring reservations x 1 by email, I have no cell phone. Second check was 2x - to my apartment and to the switchboard came as I was driving to the restaurant - 10 minutes away. I noticed reservation was cancelled at 11:30 (reserv for 1:45) - several of my party had already arrived. Restaurant was not full - a bit of over kill!! You need to review your automatic programing to be realistic, if it is an automatic system. There was not warning when making reservations that one needed to let you know we were coming.
Other than that a wonderful experience for ladies celebrating 77 year old birthday - will come again.
It was a really nice night! They gave us a table ocean view, the food was really good and our waitress was friendly and efficient. We didn't have to wait to much for the food to arrive and the bill was completely reasonable!
We came from Australia. Had booked table months in advance but were not given window seat. Turned out to be okay, one row in, still had a good view, but initially very disappointing. Our waitress was really nice but over-worked and she knew nothing about the wines on the wine list. Ordered one of their special cocktails only to hear in a while that they were out of the key ingredient. Then ordered a gin and tonic and asked to have it with cucumber, and this was treated as weird. Disappointing. Desserts were from the 1950s--ice cream cake!!
It was clear that I wasn't as valued being a table of 1 than other tables. Or maybe because I wasn't a local or something else, but the service I received was brief and bordering rude. He tried to exclude me by not explaining the menu when I asked and using different words to describe dishes to try and confuse. I am well travelled, here for business and pleasure and sorry I could only done on my own at lunchtime, but the weird vibe in the restaurant prevented me from ordering anything other than one course, so I couldn't wait to leave. The waiter begrudgingly asked me how my meal was. I still gave a tip because it's frowned upon not to although in England grounds for a tip is good service especially and overall good experience. This wasn't.
We arrived on time and were seated promptly at a window with a view. The server was excellent and attentive. But restaurants are about the food and drink.
Firstly, they only had one non-alcoholic beer and that was Budweiser Prohibition. Have the people who buy this for the restaurant ever drank it. It's the worst non-alcoholic beer on the market. Please provide a second upscale brand like Becks. It would be nice to have a choice. Second, the bread that we were served was stale. Probably been sitting out since the day before. The Cesar Salad had hardly any dressing and was watery. All hot dishes served were luke warm. Considering the prices they charged this was totally unacceptable. The dessert was good but it's provided by an outside supplier. You get the same dessert at many other restaurants. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.
We did not complain as it was our first meeting with another couple and didn't want to make a scene.
Pre-Bard Brunch on Saturday. Did not disappoint. The window seat to people watch and view the mountains and water greatly added to to the ambience and food. Will definitely recommend Boathouse at Kits and be back!
The restaurant was quite lively when we arrived. We asked for a quiet spot, and were given a nice table on the patio. Enjoyed our seafood dinners, especially the plump tender mussels. Our server was warm and attentive - thanks for the cosy blankets.
I've been to the Boathouse at Kits several times. This particular visit was only ok. I had the fish tacos and there was very little fish in them and the tacos split immediately leaving a messy pile on my plate and in my hands. The waiter was not very attentive and had to be flagged down for more drinks. He never did ask how our meal was. Overall not a great outing but the view is awesome and it's close to Bard on the Beach.
Enjoyed a wonderful lunch on the patio. The server we had was awesome and the food excellent. Good size meal portions. Great water view. Will definitely be back again.
A friendly, professional restaurant with a great location. The Boathouse menu is similar at every branch but the Kits Watermark Boathouse chefs are a step ahead. Generous wine glasses at happy hour. Discount if you ask in advance and advise you have tickets for Bard on the Beach. Good parking nearby. Great seaside stroll outside for after dinner. The restaurant is quieter at the furthest end, near the entrance to the outside deck.
Perfect service and excellent recommendations from JP our server, the food was fabulous. Would recommend this place to everyone who enjoys great food and even better ambiance.
