Smoked salmon hash on the brunch menu is FANTASTIC!
We got a window seat which was very nice as it was a lovely night. We ordered the crab cake and it was really good. Husband had a tenderloin which tasted good and 8 had the crab/lobster ravioli. It was okay not the best I have had. Very tough pasta probably not cooked long enough but tasty inside.
Gorgeous view. Diligent, friendly service.
I have had the cheddar bacon burger in the past and it was particularly good and overall good value.
Crab cakes today were unfortunately a real disappointment. There was certainly crab in there but the overwhelming texture/taste was bready, almost cake-like. Sauce seemed aimed at being high end but was bland and flavourless. I would not recommend. I couldn’t help comparing with the crab cakes at the other end of the spectrum: Rodney’s.
Non-alcoholic beer was flat and felt like it had not been refrigerated. Disappointing.
Children’s meals and yam fries were fine.
Server really didn’t care about us. Probably long day but I don’t care how long day it was for him. Then the other servers spilled something on the table next to us , my legs were splashed and they didn’t even ask if I am ok. Ugh I usually don’t complain but since You asked...
great and got my window seat, will come more often and will recommend to friends
I love this restaurant but had a bad oyster on Saturday night and have been sick ever since🤢. We will go back again and have always enjoyed oysters at this restaurant. The warning about oysters came out after Saturday. Anyways being honest it has been awful but will return.
Booked this place for my wife and mom. The food was very good and the service was very good as well. We arrived early and they were very accommodating with seating us early and also giving us the choice of a window seat so we could enjoy the view.
We love this location and the restaurant but today the food and service was not up to our expectation. We sat right underneath of the heater and it was way too hot. The se4vercwasnt coming around to top up coffee or give condiments and when I flagged him down and ask him for something missing, he didn't seem to acknowledge what I was saying and had to read his face. The ambience and view is great but I was disappointed at today's service and my crabcakes Benedict.
Fine ambiance, perky service, lovely views. Disappointment was the food, especially the fish tacos--miniscule portion of fish, soggy filling that made the shell collapse shortly after serving, cold on arrival.
Noise level not too bad, as it was not overly crowded. My seafood combo dish was weak on the scrawny crab legs. Waitress very good
Great location but - Very slow - kitchen not server. Fish overcooked. Disappointing overall although staff were understanding and gracious.
Thank you for your service. Everything was great 👍🏼
The quality of the food has declined. Went for happy hour and the drinks were not good either. Very disappointed.
A nice meal, but perhaps a bit overpriced, though I imagine one is paying for the glorious view as well. Service was courteous but slow.
Its good but the food are okay. Dessert is kind of disappointed
Food was cold
The server and kitchen staff easily accommodated a special request for a substitution on the accompaniments to the main entrée.
Oysters were delicious! Chowder was delicious! Wine was delicious! The waiter never interrupted the conversation- outstanding!
1. We asked for a window seat but were shown to another table. The problem is that our request wasn’t even acknowledged and we weren’t told a window seat wasn’t available nor were we given the option to go to the lounge and wait for a window seat, etc.
2. The biggest problem was with the gluten free choices. There was nothing in the menu marked as gluten free. While our waiter was very nice and attentive, he couldn’t tell us with any surety or confidence what was gluten free and what wasn’t. There was a lot of “this might be” or “I think this is”, etc. It was very risky for the person with us who has a significant allergy.
3. While this is a seafood restaurant with an excellent seafood menu, it would be nice to have a couple of more non seafood selections for those in a party who don’t eat seafood.
4. The restaurant is very noisy and we were there early when it was only about a third full.
Reserved for a Friday night @ 7 in time for drinks before the sunset, followed by dinner. Way too noisy, idiotic masses milling around the host's podium, including a child in his power wheels parked right in the middle of the throng. Immediately regretted wearing semi-formal as ballcaps and polyester jackets seemed to be an acceptable evening attire as the oblivious happily munched on their snapworthy colourful meals for their facebook followers to envy. This prime piece of Vancouver real estate could have been so much more, but has instead been wasted by yet another chain establishment that has fallen off by catering to the easily pleased. It must be said that the staff are polite, but the customers leave a lot to be desired, I recommend you don't be one unless you're coming in after drinking on the beach all day with your idiot floozy friends on the selfie parade.
This venue has become my 'go-to' place for getting together with friends and family. I love the beachside setting, both rain and shine, and the service has been great each visit.
Service was a little slow as they only had 2 servers on and we were a party of 8. The view was outstanding and it was very easy to talk to the whole table. All in all though was a very good experience and I would recommend this restaurant to my friends
You pay for the view, which is spectacular. Their brunch food is mediocre at best and pales in comparison for price point to many other restaurants in Kits. They are kid friendly with menu and service, which is a plus.
Unfortunately for a place that services fish, both our Ahi Tuna and wild sockeye salmon were over cooked and not very good. We could over hear the people beside us who were also disappointed with their food. Their crab dish had no crab.
We were offered desert, declined, for over cooked fish.
We reserved online and our table was ready when we arrived. Great view, very friendly and helpful staff, terrific wait person, excellent fare. Lots of parking.
We were given a great table by the view window and attended to with just the right amount of service throughout the evening. Service was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. We ordered a number of dishes to share and all were superb and presented well. It was a top notch casual dining experience.
it was all pretty good with the exception of the parking meters. terrible .. we had to attempt it about four times, with cash and cards. made us a bit late for the reservation time. not very user friendly.
I've been to the Kitsilano Boathouse restaurant numerous times since moving to Vancouver 3 years ago. It is consistent in its quality of food and service. I never feel rushed and if you are lucky, you can get a seat by the window to watch the sun set on the water. With excellent wine choices and terrific cocktails, they offer a variety of starter or shared plates (my favourite is the coconut shrimp with mango salsa) that include grilled fish with your choice of accompaniment or one of their signature dishes (hello, coconut cod!). I've yet to have a bad meal or terrible service which is why I will always recommend the Kitsilano Boathouse.
Service, atmosphere, view & food was perfect for a birthday celebration. The only negative aspect of our Sunday brunch was that we had a table of 6 at the window with a heat lamp directly overtop and it was too hot. It caused our dessert icing to melt and we had to take off layers of clothing ... we were sweating during the meal. We asked the server to turn it off which happened for a few minutes and then again turned on. Just too uncomfortable to enjoy our total dining experience. I hope there is something that can be done to remedy this situation. Also, the table that was joined to the existing table of 4 was not stable and we needed to balance the base with a napkin. Thank you, in advance.
Food and Service were okay, window seating request was granted but at the windows it was really cold. But if warm/sunny a great place for seafood and views!
Servers were excellent
My wife and I went for dinner there recently for Valentine’s dinner on the Saturday following actual Valentine’s. We were both looking forward to King crab and were sadly disappointed. Not only was the crab served cold but unlike previous experiences, the crab was not precut for ease of enjoying. Despite this, we persevered and did our best to ignore the sharp shell digging into our fingers. The butter that was served with our bread, had fridge-like flavor and even though we sent it back, the next one was exactly the same just as the server predicted it would be. The experience was unfortunate as it reminded us that we could create a better experience in the comfort of our own home. That is likely what we will do next Valentine’s. Too bad because in the past, we have have had good experiences.
Did the Valentine's Day set menu. Was a lovely ambience and we were lucky to get the corner round table. Service from our server was impeccable. Food was good but nothing impressive. Cheers, DeadFoodiesSociety.
The set Valentines Day menu was awesome! Service was friendly and on point! Had an amazing view of the sunset! Made for a great date night! Would recommend!
Good experience. Place clean, friendly and beautiful.
My reservation was ok when I arrived. Food delicious, but few options.
Visited during the extension period for the 2018 Dine Out Vancouver menu in mid-February 2018. Great window seat with a superb view of Kits Beach and the sunset. It was chilly outside, but overhead heaters kept the temperature comfortable. Our server was cheerful and efficient. Food was delicious, perfect portion sizes. Mocha ice cream cake dessert looked like it would be too big, but it was surprisingly light and a nice way to end the evening. Reliable restaurant with a scenic Wow! factor to impress your out-of-town guests.
The heating is not working well enough, there should be a better temperature control, when the heat came on it was very overwhelming when we were there.
Happily got a reservation with a window seat here relatively last-minute and was pleasantly surprised when Dine Out Vancouver menu had been extended. Had a great steak dinner with salad and scrumptious crème brûlé for $30. Perfectly sized portions. Great service and fireplace was a nice touch. Parking was not that expensive but would have been nice to have it comped.
We have been here before in the summer and with the sunset it felt a lot more cozy but in the winter the ambience was not very cozy and it was loud over crowded and the food had no flavour! I love the boat house usually but this was definitely worst experience
