    Went on a Wednesday and so many things were missing in the kitchen/bar. No Daiquiri mix, no Pina Colada mix, no more home fries... Don't they restock after the weekend? I had a burger which I only ate half of because it tasted a bit off. The rest of my party seemed to have enjoyed their food. We usually go on Fridays or Saturdays and normally, the food and service are good. But I was quite disappointed this time around.

    Première fois pour nous au British et pas dutout impressionné… Le service est extrêmement lent et peux professionnel. Ont as du tuer une 10e de mouches à fruits à notre table. La qualité de la nourriture très ordinaire vue le prix. Ont as vue sur instagram le plateau de charcuterie, ont as eu envie de l’essayer, fausse représentation! Ont as reçu le 1/3 de ce qui étais sur la photo, du smoke meat et du parmesan? Voyons donc… en plus plus la soirée avançait plus il avait d’affiche indiquant les plats non disponibles? Vraiment mais vraiment pas impressionné.

    Was no acknowledgment of reservation, Wait for food was 1+ hours. When it did finally come, food was swimming in grease, overcooked and inedible. Wait staff were inattentive, room was excessively loud, was food and garbage were under the table when we arrived. Will never be coming again.

    Good food, unique flavour- loved the burger and their fish and chips. It was very noisy and very busy, which is good (but difficult to visit with others) my meal came quite cold but they reheated it and it was good. Slow but pleasant service!

    Saturday, June 11, 2022 I’ve been dinning at the PUB and meeting friends, students, and clients at the Café for a few years now. The experience is one of inner-urban delight, heritage and as become my sanctuary. The new project adds to this by demonstrating sustainability and entertainment. Thank you, LLP

    There were 5 people at our table. One beet salad tasted like canned beets, 3 ceasar salads with little dressing, wilted romaine, a few croutons , minimal cheese and hardly any bacon bits. I had nachos and they were cold, cheese cold and rubbery and hardly any toppings. Too bad because it was a special luncheon and we alll left disappointed. My cousin had the intention of booking a bridal shower with catering at The British, and decided to book at another venue because of the poor quality of the food.

    We were there during very busy period. Wait staff was excellent, drinks & water all filled quickly and very attentive. Food was quick, hot and tasty. We stuck with pub fare; burgers and wraps. Very impressed. We highly recommend and will definitely return.

    C’est très rare que je n’apprécie pas un restaurant, mais je n’ai vraiment pas apprécié la soirée qui j’y ai passée. Le serveur nous a à peine parlé : nous n’avons eu aucun “bonjour” au début, il nous a simplement demandé ce que nous voulions. Il n’y a eu aucun “merci” à la fin de son service alors que nous avions donné un bon pourboire malgré le service de base que nous avions eu. Deux plats du menu manquait ce soir-là alors cela nous laissait peu de choix…

    Unfortunatly I can't recommend the British for its food. We had a party of nine for Easter and I was hoping that the food would be a tad better than my last experience last Christmas for our office pary. The Fish and chip were over fried, our hamburgers wer hard, the chicken wings were tateless and fries were leftovers from the day before. Only the beet salad was delicious. I'm a total eat local person first and an ambassador for old Aylmer butaside from its historic value the British does not cut it for its food.

    I go for lunch at your pub once a week. Your new menu is quite good. The winter chicken sandwich is excellent! The quality of how the food is needed to be monitored. The caramelized onions and pancetta were burnt and the romaine in my ceasar salad was wilted and 80% was tips not romaine hearts. I think it would be a good idea to have more quality control. My friend had a beet salad when she last visited and she said the beets tasted canned and not roasted. Your server, Francine, is especially friendly and an excellent server. I know I will be back for my usual Wednesday lunch!

    Ordered cauliflower bites for an appetizer, they were mushy and cold in the middle. Chicken in the ceasar salad was tasteless., couldn’t eat it. We waited 30 mins between our appetizer and meal and no one came around to see if we needed anything. Overall, food was terrible, service mediocre and price outrageous for what we had. We were also seated by a window and froze! We’ve been here before and had a better experience but we won’t be going back soon!
