    We return every year and are never disappointed! We met the chief from the last 32 years as he went from table to table asking if everyone was enjoying their meal. The dining room is exquisitely decorated and on occasion, you will find a piano player in the lobby as you walk in playing Christmas music.

    The servers were a tiny bit disorganized at first but they all were delightful and in the end served us well. A very enjoyable and special time. Thank you.

    We made a reservation in the dining room for their Christmas dining room experience however we were seated in the enclosed porch which is separated from the dining room and is decorated as a garden room and looks entirely different. It lacks the ambience expected in a fine dining experience. The chairs are uncomfortable outdoor seating chairs, the lighting isn't warm, and the overall ambience is cold. No other table was available. The scallops yummy but weren't hot, the veggies hard and extremely undercooked, the pork dry. Mistakes on the bill, good thing I checked.

    We were overlooking the Italian garden. It is a lovely space. Our server was exceptional and the food was the best Christmas High Tea I have had at Butchart. The only problem was when we arrived we were told we were too early and we would have to go away for 10 minutes and then come back! Why couldn't we just stay in a line up? Or better yet why weren't we told in advance that we could NOT arrive at 2:25, it must be 2:35 for our 2:45 reservation in the dining room.

    Butchart Gardens is one of the most magical places in the world but Christmas takes it to a higher level. The restaurant ambience is so very wonderful where you can feel like you went back a century and where you can warm yourself by a stone fireplace after strolling through the incredible Christmas light display in the huge gardens. The pandemic constrained the dining room menu in recent years but the traditionally excellent dining experience is back. We immensely enjoyed the wonderful flavour of the Hokkaido scallops that were cooked perfectly. This was followed by a pleasing portion of Rack of Lamb that was again cooked to perfection and accompanied by sides that added a range of tantalizing favours. The food couldn’t have been any better. Koodos to the chefs. The servers were attentive and helpful without being intrusive. The only disappointment was that the earlier diners consumed all the Figgy Pudding. But truth is we really didn’t have any room left anyways. Truly a splendid evening all around. John L

    The food was amazing being a pass holder saved me 10% which is very helpful indeed. So far I have saved my membership by having special occasion meals at Butchart Gardens. We felt welcome - we arrived early and they were able to seat us 30 minutes earlier than planned. If you are looking for some of the best food in Victoria then this is the destination. Christmas lights and Musicians and Singers carolling, wonderful. You feel first class while only dressed Casually.

    We love dining here. We would have loved to be seated in the smaller room to the right but when booking online we are not able to choose, alas. The food was SUPERB and the experience was very enjoyable

    Butchart Gardens is beautiful. We have gone many times over the years and it never disappoints. This is the first year we have done the high tea as it’s quite expensive, especially when it’s not included or discounted with entrance. The food was yummy and the service was exceptional. Wish we could have tried more than one tea. They really catered to allergies.

    Our High Tea was absolutely lovely. The tea was delectable, the savories and sweets were unique and delicious, the ambience was lovely (great classical music playing softly in the background!) and it was decorated for Christmas.

    Among high teas in Victoria, BC I like this one the best. It would be even better if there were gentle, live piano in the background, and a fire in a fireplace.
