We had a birthday party dinner for my daughter and the CG staff were great! They really set the tone for a great evening! My family and I loved the food and service! The staff was very attentive and spaced out the drinks, appetizers and entrees with precise timing. We will be back!

Good location on 4th st. Just above the Parker Jazz Club for those attending a show there. We enjoyed eating in the bar area but we were able to order off the dinner menu. All food from the appetizers, soups through the main courses with sides were delicious. Served piping hot and the steaks were cooked to order. Seafood perfect as well. Definitely a great spot.

What began as great start to our anniversary celebration in the bar with Chris taking care of us got even better when we were seated at a secluded booth. A wonderful location in the dining area and the decorative items relating to our anniversary were appreciated. Then the evening almost went downhill rapidly. We were informed that flooding in the kitchen area would preclude us from getting our meal. Although we were disappointed we were offered a move over to Eddie V's so at least we would be able to complete the night. Shortly thereafter, our server informed us that seated patrons would be served and no need to leave. I am glad we waited those few minutes! The meal was superb. The steaks were cooked to our liking, just as we ordered, and the table dishes of creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes were great. The Crème Brûlée for desert made the night one to remember. Thanks for a wonderful evening dining experience.

I have dined at the Capital multiple times in multiple cities and this was the first non-5-star experience. Had early reservations before show at Parker Jazz. A little slow to be seated and waited on initially; looked like a shift change. Good drinks, good oysters. Solid salads. Ok steaks - close to cooked right (not enough to turn back) but not what is expected at $50+ a plate. Skipped dessert. A suggestion: ensure proper and full staff coverage (including kitchen) to ensure consistency of service.

We loved our last night in Austin dining at Capital Grille. Our server Robby was personable and knowledgeable about guiding us through the menu. Our filet was cooked to perfection and the gratin potatoes were the best I have ever had! Cocktails and wine selection was superb!

The place is amazing and everyone is very friendly. The food is good but for my taste a lot of mix of flavors. Impeccable steak tartare and tuna tartare. Dry aged steak was fine but I don't understand why to cook it with butter and onion. For me, it spoils the meat. And with wild mushrooms that only tasted like rosemary. We'll be back anyway.

Oysters were absolutely great!!! Sliced filet with fig essence was disappointing and certainly not worth the money; no fig essence that I could ascertain and the mushrooms were overcooked. We did the wine tasting for $35.00. The rose, pinot grigio, and chardonnay were great. The reds were bitter and very disappointing and they seemed very warm. They tasted like Texas red wines...just not up to par. Waitress was overwhelmed and after we finished our entree it was probably 10-15 minutes before she came to us again. I think the restaurant was overwhelmed with customers and could not keep up. Because when we go for lunch or on a weeknight the food and service are much better.

Thoroughly enjoyed the dinner experience. Only downside, my steak was not quite as tender as I’d hope. Could have been the cut I ordered, which was a tomahawk steak of some kind. Don’t remember now. It was tasty though.

Capital Grille is one of my favorite steakhouses. I’ve dined at CG in Baltimore, Chicago, Vegas, Arizona, DC, and Austin and have never been disappointed. Special acknowledgment to our server Ross who was fantastic.

Truly one of the best meals I’ve had. The sliced filet with fig reduction, onions and mushrooms was off the chart - as was the lobster. Brussel sprouts were delicious, our waiter was incredible; cheesecake was perfect. Not a bad thing to say about the meal, service, everything. Kudos to Capital Grille for achieving such a great dining experience.
