Everything was great with the exception of the reception we got when we first got into the restaurant. So we were 10 minutes early. I felt as though the staff at the front desk were not friendly. After they looked up our reservation they weren't very clear as to what they wanted us to do. So we awkwardly stood there. They said something to the effect of "ummm okay let us check on something." Can't really remember but they could have said please allow us to check if your table is ready. They immediately stopped looking at us and I felt as though I was standing in the way of upcoming customers. They could have graciously asked us to stand off to the side while they check on our table. The lady that eventually walked us to our table was dull. Apart from that everything else was great. Great valet service, food, ambience and waitor device.

This is our second time celebrating a wedding anniversary and once again they continue to impress. The service by Chris was impeccable. From the moment we entered, we were greeted cordially. Promptly seated early for our reservation. The drinks are well made. The wine list has changed significantly over the years but still offered a great selection. The steak cooked perfectly and the Brussels sprouts are exceptional. The manager always seems to ask how everything is and much appreciated. Nice celebratory dessert for our anniversary. Always an enjoyable experience. Thank you!

We are loyal customers of The Capital Grille, and as such many friends and family members gave us gift cards to use. We decided to treat our son to a family dinner there on Sat. The restaurant was packed and they clearly had lost control of the crowd. We waited over 30 min for our table and then were brought to a backroom and sat under a computer screen with a picture of a wave on it. The table and atmosphere were totally unacceptable. We, along with several other patrons asked to be reseated and we were, however, the new table wasn't much better. The waiter was clearly overwhelmed but did the very best he could with the number of tables he had. We waited long periods of time between courses and for drink refills. When they cleared our table we asked to have some of the leftover steak put in a doggy bag, which either didn't happen or was given to another table as we never saw it. Overall, very disappointing, but expensive night. When I go to The Capital Grille, I expect to pay for great food, atmosphere, and service. One our of three isn't good enough unless you want to drastically reduce your prices.

I arrive for my 745 reservations and was told that there would be an additional 30 minute wait because the kitchen was backed up. I tried to wait in the bar, but the only table there was was a reserved table. I stood in the foyer and dodged weight staff for the next 30 minutes. When I was brought to the table, we waited an additional 30 minutes before we were presented with any water. The waiter came to the table was very on attentive. We ordered appetizers salad, course with soup and our entrées. All at the same time he then proceeded to ask me if I wanted everything together. Which I found was very strange. Dirty dishes, bottles glasses remains on the table throughout the dinner course. Nothing was removed. We had an accident .strange. We had an accident where some soup spilled up to the table and I asked for it to be cleaned up however, it never was. We ended up placing a cloth napkin over it. The meal was presented steaks were over cooked and tough. Presented dry in a dish when I asked about sauces, I was told of the choices, and they were brought up in a soufflé cup 20 minutes later. The sites made it to the table 20 minutes after the dinner course. The dinner course was presented piecemeal to the guests at the table. We had brought an anniversary cake and the anniversary cake was presented and a stack of dishes forks in a butter knife was given to the guest of honor. Coffees made it to the table 20 minutes later after the desert course was finished. The way it was very apologetic when he presented the check and blamed the entire experience and lack of attention due to the kitchen being backed up and then being overbooked for the evening. I’m sure this was half hearted and to ensure a tip. To add final insult to injury, we found a decorated dish, saying happy anniversary, with two pieces of pastry on it that was just discarded on top of a pile of dirty dishes

Food was amazing and loved the waiter! Great options and great hospitality! Just did not like sitting in one of the dark rooms they have in the back! I would like to be more out in natural lighting. Really dark and dungeon in those rooms. It made me feel like I was in a movie theater. Also some tables are to close to the doors where waiters will be constantly walking back and fourth right behind your back, very uncomfortable.

Usually an unbelievably positive experience at CG and 5 stars. This time was average at best. Steak temperature was waaaaay off even after for a request to throw it back on for 2-3 minutes more. Great ambience and views. Our server was great and personable—-just a bad actual dining experience this go around

We were celebrating our sons 38th birthday. When we arrived, we were ushered promptly to our table. They table had been decorated with some sparkly confetti and a nice birthday well wishes card was on the table. Matt our waiter was polite, very professional and knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. Our service was very good, Matt was very attentive as was the young lady that was his helper. Capital Grille never disappoints, our meals (we all ordered steaks) were excellent and prepared exactly as per our wishes. When it was time for dessert, our waiter brought the birthday guy a complimentary sample plate of desserts with a lit candle. We did not request this, it was the pure generosity and thoughtfulness of the Capital Grilles management. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing, delicious and fun evening!

I have been to Capital Grille before on a less busy night and the experience was amazing from beginning to end. This time the experience was good, very good but not amazing. I ordered theseared tenderloin and butter poached lobster tails and the steak was fantastic the lobster tails were luke warm with absolutely no butter taste whatsoever. Our server was extremely busy so I did not complain.

My family and I have been dining at Capital Grille for many years. It is our go-to for all special occasions. New York, Florida, where we often frequent as it's our home restaurant (6-8 times a year), New Jersey & Pheonix. Our experience has always been excellent, and the food has ALWAYS surpassed expectations. While in Providence, we decided to visit the restaurant where it all started before dropping off my son at college. I have to say that we have NEVER been so disappointed in all of our years dining there. For our appetizers, the lobster bisque, while filled with delicious chunks of lobster, was extraordinarily thick and lukewarm at best. The Calamari, which is our favorite appetizer, because of its crunchy crispiness, was soggy and also warm. We ordered the recommended “Chef Special,” a Wild Caught Salmon with crab cake over a bed of Asparagus. Two of our party of 5 selected that choice and were extremely disappointed. Our salmon was utterly tasteless, the crab meat that topped the salmon was also bland, and the Asparagus was overcooked and soggy. It was replaced with a different dish that was not any better. I packed it to go. My husband, who never steers from his regularly ordered Porcini Rubbed Bone-In Ribeye with 15-Year Aged Balsamic, was also disappointed as the steak was also unseasoned and drowned in vinegar, making it extraordinarily bitter and unpleasurable. We expected this location to surpass all of our other wonderful dining experiences with Capital Grille being that this is where it all started… but we were very disappointed.

Always love it here and are frequent visitors especially when they have the generous pour each summer. Some of our favorites each summer. This visit our waiter expressed his frustration when the generous pour occurs stating “ it’s too much work” . Found that strange. Also paid with a gift card that had $150 on it but our waiter came back saying there was no money left on it. After phone call to capitol grille following day turns out we most certainly did have the full amount left. Make sure you always confirm your balance

We were there to celebrate a birthday. Drinks were great- wine, Cosmos - the best anywhere! Food was amazing- lobster tail, sesame tuna, salmon, side dishes (best mashed potatoes!). Always a treat to dine here.

Celebrated our Daughters Bday. The manager Bobby greeted us at the door and welcomed us like family! The service was probably the best I’ve ever received and I eat out quite a bit. Chris our server was hands down the greatest!!! Our meals were cooked to perfection, and desserts were very much appreciated and delicious. Thanks again guys!
