Incredible venue, service and food would highly recommend
In my top 3 favourite date night locations to go in Calgary. My partner and I both eat an organic vegan diet and they have wonderful selection of vegan foods and use organic food as much as they can.
Hands down our favorite place! The ambiance combined with the food and service make it amazing.
Awesome little restaurant located in the basement level of the building. Food was great, the flavours were super different than anything I’ve ever had before.
Sample appetizer: $25 for all 3, 2 pieces of each appetizer. You may want to get another plate if you have more people in your party. My favorite part was the icing sugar chicken pastry. I thought it was going to be weird, but it was my FAVOURITE part.
Agadir tajine with braised lamb: Sooo good and umami. I usually hate lamb because of the gaminess, but it was cooked to perfection and the gaminess was very subtle. Perfect dish for winter.
Marrakesh tajine with Cornish game hen: Sauce was super flavourful I wish they gave more of it. The hen was a little on the dry side, but they give you lots of meat.
Casblanca tajine with grilled chicken: Was not a big fan of the chickens flavor, but super moist. My friends loved this one the most. The sauce was really good, had the most acidity out of all the tajines. Lighter than the other takings.
Overall great experience. Restaurant was beautiful, couches were comfy and clean. Sauce of all 3 tajines were perfection. Would recommend.
What a beautiful space. A hidden gem in the Beltline. The place is well decorated and elevates you out of Calgary and makes you think you could be in Casablanca. Food is incredible!!
Incredible food, rich in flavour and presented beautifully. Will definitely be coming back to try all the other dishes!
The food is excellent. A tajine (lamb in particular) along with a couscous dish (the garlic shrimp are excellent), make a great combination for two people. The alhambra beer can safely be described as the icing on the cake!
One of my favorite places I have ever been with great food and excellent service!
This is one of our favourite places to eat. The ambiance is matchless with the Moroccan theme throughout. The food is authentic and delicious. The owner and his family are friendly and helpful with quick service. We love it!
Had a wonderful date with my husband
Amazing atmosphere with decor that will make you feel you are in a different world. Very attentive service with many food options for all dietary needs. The Tour of Morrocco was the best way to go for our table of 5. Flavorful, tasty, and filling, we did not leave hungry! The mint tea to finish was delightful. Would recommend for great night out with friends, family, or date night!
From the moment you walk through the swagged doorway you feel as though you’ve been transported to Morocco. The food choices are varied and everything we tried was delicious. We will definitely be back next time we’re in YYC.
I felt as if the food lacked flavour, I also felt like it was very expensive for what it was. The decorations inside are nice but I don't think I would recommend anyone to go there.
I would recommend this restaurant to try only but would not be rushing back any time soon and would not be a regular diner here. In particular, some of the dishes were very salty and did not have much flavor beyond that. The overall value of these dishes were not very good - the base would be between 18-22 dollars (rice or other grain and some veggies) and you would need to add a meat for about 10 dollars. This often ended up being about 4 fairly small cubes of meat.
The ambiance is quite good though as you are seated away, almost in your own room, making it easy to converse with your party.
Our server was exceptional she was friendly and the perfect amount of attentive to my mother's and I visit. We could not stop commenting on the food it was sooooo good! My mom loved the hot sauce so much they gave her a small container extra to take home. Will absolutely be taking my friends back there. This place is fantastic!!!
Definitely a must try place. Tucked away, this place does not make you feel like you are in Calgary. We tried to sample as much as we can and glad we did. Everything was cooked very well Service was a bit slow
It was my fiancé’s bday and we had a great time eating at this place. I thought it was going to be a bigger place but fair enough once you are comfortable you will forget about the space and focus on the service and the food. Met all our expectations and I am going to be back soon. The food is incredible and the waitress explained everything related to the food culture and its history. Recommend 100% the seafood.
This place is awesome!! Loved the atmosphere, and the service was amazing. Highly recommend!
Quiet, great decor and atmosphere with amazing food and service. 5 star dining experience.
For ambience there's no place better - the restaurant is cozy and warm and the atmosphere is great. The service was great and the staff were friendly and efficient. I went with a larger group and three of us were extremely disappointed with the quality of beef we were served. It was over priced, tough, over cooked and not seasoned. Unfortunately the value isn't there for what you get as far as the beef is concerned. The actual dishes themselves were tasty, however not worth the price they charge for them.
I love this place and have been multiple times and it never lets me down. Worth it!
Casbah is a quiet and lovely spot to have a special dinner. Food is tasty and service is excellent
Amazing experience! Can’t wait to return.
Good food, great atmosphere and service. It was our 33rd wedding anniversary and our table was quiet and secluded, perfect for the occasion. It was our first time there and we will be returning soon.
Went here for my husbands birthday. Food was delicious. Service was quick. The ambiance was amazing, decor was very well put together. Great experience all together!
Newly renovated with a slightly updated menu. The food is Fantastic (as always).
This is such a gem! The owner greets you and makes you feel so welcome. The decor is exotic and beautiful. Lots of small spaces curtained off in flowing fabrics. Candles everywhere. The food is incredible tagines and couscous in various versions that can be vegetarian or with lamb or chicken. They offer my favourite - Bistella - chicken with a dusting of icing sugar - delectable. A decent wine selection available. Love this place.
Excellent all round. Couscous was a delight
This restaurant is great! The decor is stunning I just want to sit there for hours and feel like I’m in Morocco even for awhile. I have my favourites. The Coucous Khoudra being one of them. I don’t eat lamb but I even like their lamb. It’s so tender and nicely spiced. I found one of my favourite wines there even recently. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Casbah and I believe it can satisfy all pallets.
Great service and awesome food!
Had a lovely experience here, food and atmosphere is fantastic and feeds all the senses.
Very unique, hidden gem to take guests. Nothing like it anywhere in Calgary.
We had Couscous with Lamb Medallions and they were so tender and perfect !
Looking forward to coming back again.
Amazing food! Our server was great, answered all our questions about the menu and when I told her it was my boyfriends and my first time checking the place out she made it an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was like nothing I've been to before. Made us feel like we were on a holiday away from the city. Definitely recommend but I'd plan for a date night for two people to be roughly $100. So worth it though!!
Amazing food and service
Loved the decor! It was like stepping into Morroco. Very cozy yet exotic. Food was superb, but on the pricey side, especially the appetizers, 2 pieces for $12.
Fantastic authentic food. Top shelf.
Such a hidden gem in the city. Absolutely delicious. I’m vegan, my guests have always been meat eaters - happy diners on all sides of the table!! BEAUTIFUL interior
My wife and I took some friends to the Casbah for their first time. They couldn’t believe how good it was . Great food and service . The Casbah has a warm and intimate Moroccan decor that never disappoints. A must do for anyone that is tired of regular restaurant fare.
Delicious food, had the four course meal/tour of Morocco. Great service and romantic ambiance. Very reasonable price. Will be back!!
