The Chase Fish & Oyster
Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm
Sunday: 11:00am - 9:00pm
We are frequent flyers to The Chase Fish and Oyster. (Great food). This time, we went for my grandmothers 70th birthday. Our reservation was at 8:00pm, when arriving already 6 min late, we were told our table was not ready and told to sit at bar which was full. We only got sat down at 8:45pm. Normally I wouldn’t mind, but having made reservations a long time before hand as well as being with a senior, I was slightly disappointed with the service or lack of.
First time going to Chase and it was a great experience. We’ll be back every Tim we’re in town.
Food was amazing and service was phenomenal. We had reservations and there was still a bit of a wait but the staff did a great job of making us feel comfortable and appreciated, and kept us informed. Highly recommend Chase to anyone looking for great fresh seafood Downtown.
The ambiance of the chase is very laid back yet posh at the same time. This restaurant is for seafood lovers for sure, they have amazing creative dishes; for example, their tuna nachos were absolutely amazing. Their oysters were very fresh and they have a decent selection. The service was also really great, everyone in the restaurant is very nice and they form a great team. I would definitely go back and highly recommend, whether it be for a lunch or a date this is going to be one of my go-to restaurants from now on.
Always a great place for a nice, but not over-the top dining experience. Great for pre- show or casual, upscale meeint
We arrived 15 min before our 8 pm reservation. We didn’t get seated until about 9:15. At 8:00, we were told that the party at our assigned table were eating their desserts. A two top sat empty for 20 minutes starting at 8:30 before someone from the outside was seated. There were 2 other couples waiting with us at the bar with 8:00 reservations. One couple was seated at 8:45 and the other couple got seated at the same time we did...9:15. They comped our drinks at the bar and gave us some bisquits as an appetizer (???) but eating at 10:15 on a Saturday night is never in our plans. That’s why the 8:00 reservation. Service was very slow and but luckily the food was good but a bit overpriced.
It was good but I found it kind of strange that the wine was not left on the table. It added an extra level of work on the wait staff.
Excellent raw bar. Beautifully presented and wonderfully prepared.
The food and service were excellent as always! I never tire of the tuna tartare nachos and the grilled octopus. The whole sea bream was fantastic.
Good, not great. Very expensive for what you get. $29 martini and $4-$5 (!) per oyster quickly adds up. The main course halibut was slightly overcooked. New waiter halfway through the meal. 1st waiter was way better. Room and decor awesome. This was our 4th visit and for the first time we are not sure whether we will come back.
Great fun as we were there for Their once a mo th musical bingo. Lots of laughs.
We had a great meal and experience. Our server Johnathan was really the most wonderful guy he made the night perfect. Food was great
Impeccable Service! Delicious meal. We had the lobster roll dinner and Snapper.
They were wonderful. I was going to be 15-20 min late and they fully accommodated my original request for sitting on the patio.
Our server was amazing he was attentive fun and just simply nice.
Food was delicious. I did summerlicious. So much food. Completely over ate. Cannot wait to return
i was expecting a better summerlicious menu, it was just sad and the service was slow. throwing a few shrimp in mayonaise and shoving in bun will not make anyone come back for more and the french fries were cold. the dessert wasn't much, sortbet with some cheap fruit. i will not recommend this to anyone.
It was a shame that we were basically the only customers. It would be to your benefit to have advertised your being open on Saturday for summerlicious. Even when I phoned to confirm my reservation the hostess at first informed me that the restaurant wasn't open for lunch on Saturday. Not having other patrons in the restaurant took away from the experience (ambience/atmoshere). Wait staff left the pepper mill at our table which we were not able to turn. I would have expected the waiter to have offered to do this. I also had to ask for a refill of ice water. I am pointing these out as we were literally in an empty restaurant. Hopefully next time the experience will be different. Also, the "shrimp roll" was basically a very salty shrimp salad placed on a baquette. Not quite what I was thinking.
Grilled octopus, tuna nachos, brussel sprouts were our favourite
GREAT FOOD AND AMBIANCE
The food we ordered from the regular menu was great. We ordered meals from the summerlicious menu which seemed to be mass produced and pre made. My husbands burger was over cooked and my shrimp roll was mostly lettuce and mayo on a sub bun. My meal only came with some soggy coleslaw which I couldn’t eat. The burger at least came with some potato wedges and dip.
Amazing food. My hubby and I went for our anniversary. We loved it.
Service is so terrible. Food is never coming
Marie was an amazing sommelier! Great food and great service . I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family
Great service and great food.
Excellent service. Good location. Ex Ellen’s flavours
The seafood was very fresh and very well prepared. A tad noisy but very busy so expected.
The tuna nachos and cod tacos were to die for, and if you haven’t tried the fried chicken you are missing out! A great meal, service just right. And it’s got a great vibe.
I have been twice and both visits were a pre-theatre dinner, so it works well for that situation. The food is quite good - fresh ingredients, well prepared. Delicious cocktails. Service was very attentive and appropriately quick for our needs. We were sitting under a speaker so the music was quite loud. We asked the floor manager to turn it down - and he did!!
Little disappointed they changed Lobster Dinner and made everything extra- a la carte.
Love the food but that seemed a little cheesy to me.
2 hour lunch...way too long
Sexy musical bingo was so much fun! Please have another night with this dj, I would bring a whole table of people now that I know how entertaining it is!
Found it rude that the servers were all cleaning up and setting up for tomo while we were still eating?? We felt rushed and not welcome towards end
Came here for an anniversary celebration. Food was good before but unfortunately this time it fell short. Ordered the halibut which was over cooked and the sides were extremely salty. The sides was made with anchovies but it was so salty we couldn’t taste the beans or vegetables at all. Sea bream was cooked perfectly but again the sides were not complimentary to the fish. Service was attentive, they even went out of their way to provide us dessert that had our anniversary in mind. But unfortunately the main course was a disappointment.
Wife enjoyed the snapper. I liked the mussels. Overall a great place. Will definitely be back
Excellent service, good selection of Scotch and wine, and very good seafood.
Service was slower than expected and sometimes absent. Food was stellar although some items seem priced higher than they deliver. Overall excellent.
Friendly, unpretentious, relaxed atmosphere, but still smart and elegant. Service was friendly and attentive without rushing or hovering.
Fresh east and west coast oysters with an assortment of condiments. The mignonette was perfectly tangy and full of the most finely minced shallots. Try the house hot sauce for a tasty, spicy zing.
Kale caesar salad with carrot "bacon" was perfect balance of bitter, salty, sour and creamy. A refreshing variation on the traditional caesar salad that provides everything you love about a caesar salad without the cliche.
Halibut was perfectly done and substantial enough to share, given the rich bed of stewed beans and wilted greens that accompany. Grilled Octopus was sweet and smokey and satisfying with the accompanying potatoes.
Everything was awful from the start. First of all our table wasn’t ready, than it had apparently been given to another party, than they shuffled us in and out of the bar which was packed and didn’t even offer us a glass of prosecco for good will or barely apologized! The food was barely mediocre, the server Maddy was terrific, the only positive aspect to this miserable night! Than the table next to us in which one of them lost a contact lens, caused a great distraction to everyone as it seemed every wait person was crawling around looking for this dam thing with phone flash lights, all for a contact lens? I could understand if it was a diamond out of her ring! Good grief! In the end Maddy said she would bring the manager over but never did, and no recompense was offered in the least. That’s it for this overrated restaurant, we will tell everyone we know and another review will be sent to trip- advisor for sure!!!
We arrived at 8pm for our reso and was told we had to wait for a table . What’s the point of making a reso if you have to wait . Food was great except grilled octopus . Should be called potatoes platter with a little Octopus .Hard to eat very loud crowd.
Fish and Chips too oily
Significantly more expensive than it used to be but the food quality doesn't match the price.
