The Chase Fish & Oyster
Great foods except a little bit salty and great service
We ate here a year ago and it was better then. Oysters were very good. My dinner (grilled seafood) was cold. I sent it back and they put it on a piping hot plate which barely made it warm. The service was slow. This is probably because they screwed up somehow on my food. The waiter was a bit unprofessional. He was certainly nice enough, but his tone was a bit too lax as we asked him questions about the menu. For $400 it should have been superb. I’m not generally too picky, but as I said, for that price, it should have been better.
Had a reso for 8pm was seated at 8:20 pm .
Only had one waitress with a dress way to short . Was always waiting for something . Brings the fish but totally forgot the veggies till we had to remind her . Still have a 20% tip but not happy at all .
Awful service!! Waited over an hour to be sat even though i had a reservation! Not recommended
Went there with the girlfriend on Valentines Day.
Food was sparse and decent at best. We started with a total of 6 oysters, followed by the caviar and the octopus carpaccio, which honestly was probably the highlight of the night. For mains, we shared the scallops and grits, which had two pieces of mediocre pork belly.
Service was all over the place, nobody came to get us while we were waiting for a table to open up, the wine glasses given to us were dirty, waiter came by with wrong order twice...they were nice and apologetic about it, but they were very disorganized the whole night.
Would not go again.
Valentine’s Day dinner.
Booked in advanced to get the 7:00 slot, but still ended up waiting for almost an hour.
Sat down to realized that they were only serving the special limited menu with no price tag.
We still ordered the dinner set with addition to the Yonge platter.
The platter was excellent, the set dinner portion was ok. Service was great though. Will probably come back again on a normal night.
Amazing food, amazing service. Just a tad expensive however.
Good value meal as part of Winterlicious. Attentive staff and great fish dishes.
The Chase Fish & Oyster is at the top of my list as the best restaurant for fish and seafood near the theaters. The elegance of the dining room, their brussel & kale cesar, warm biscuits or their wine selection would win favours from anyone who going eating is a lot more than just eating. Its a delectable overall experience.
Everything great - especially the oysters. The only downside is the value-for-money aspect. It is way more expensive than Rodney’s or Zee Grill, and although the decor and atmosphere are more upscale, we have lingering doubts.
It was super amazing! The service was so friendly and happy, there were big windows that let a lot of light into the restaurant so the ambiance was amazing! Since it is Winterlicious, we tried the price-fixe menu and it was delicious! Portions were so generous for the price of $33, everything was served hot and was extremely delicious! Definitely worth a try, would love to have their a la carte!
Exceptional food and great ambiance. Great for a date night.
Great atmosphere, good tasty food, prompt service, and a good location. I enjoyed lunch at this place!
Food was great! Our server was very kind. Only downfall was that the food came out very, very slow.
Perfect in every aspect. Wonderful service, fantastic food, very nice touches in recognition of our special event, actually I think they did the best recognition of any restaurant I’ve been to, classy and appreciated.
I highly, highly recommend.
We went to this restaurant for the winterlicious menu. Service was great and food was amazing!
Only downside was that they took us to the window seat and there was no heater near the window so it was super cold the whole time. It would have been nice if there was a space heater or even a small blanket offered to keep myself warm.
Overall great experience though!
Adequate food as Winterlicious.
Pork chop cooked different as usual which taste tender and smooth.
Went here recently for Winterlicious and the food was delicious. They also have vegan and dairy free options which is amazing!! I want to come back and try the lobster dish.
Our all-time favorite spot for dinner!
Tried grilled seafood. Extremely salty. Not recommend
Found the service very slow and the waiter uninterested in providing any recommendations. One member of our group got a virgin Caesar and it was basically the clamato juice with no other seasonings.
I had great experience at the chase fo for new years eve. We had the $75 set menu and all 6 of us gone home with full bellies. The vibe was great and what made it special was... they handed the confetti for us to pop for the new year. Didnt expect that at all, and our server was great.
Extremely crowded, waited 45 minutes for a table that we had reserved 2 weeks previously. After being seated it took 20 minutes for a server to attend to even get us water. The ambiance and staff really exude “wannabe trendy”. Definitely wouldn’t go back.
Wonderful service, very friendly and knowledgeable staff! I enjoy the oysters and the grilled octopus very much;
Great night
Everything was really good. Only criticism is that our server’s hair touched the food as she bent over to debone our fish. Was a bit off putting.
Amazing service and fantastic food!
Unfortunately I did not enjoy my meal of Buttermilk Chicken. It was a substantial portion but otherwise greasy and heavy, not improved by the cheese dipping sauce (should have been bbq or something). The accompaniments were not much better, mushy coleslaw that was too sweet and a dense flavourless biscuit. I was not able to eat much of this meal and didn't feel well afterwards.
The service was just okay. I think the servers were new. They had to be reminded to bring more bottled water and seemed a bit nervous and distracted.
Awesome evening with friends. Seafood platter was amazing
Went for all you can eat oyster it was pretty good but can easily get sick of the oysters after 3rd round. I was over charged for no reason.
Great staff, very helpful with my wife’s birthday celebrations. The food was delicious.
Amazing octopus! Try the acorn mash it’s amazing. Sea bream wonderful. Sigh. Great service.
50th birthday celebration.
This was my second trip it will not be my last. Food and service was excellent both times. The Octopus is to die for! My Pescetarian guest was very impressed and he has dined extensively at the finest establishments.
We had a great bottle of Chateau Neuf de Pape to help wash down the exquisite fare. Take a friend, a business associate or the love of your life they will all thank you!
Share the food. There are so many great options here. The best is the Tuna nachos, but also the cauliflower. For dinner, the fried chicken and lobster Mac and cheese are the best. Amazing! Our server wasn’t terribly knowledgeable about the wine, but offered to get someone who was, and he was delightful in every other way. The staff that brought out the food were also upbeat and fun. This is a great spot.
From the moment we stepped in to the restaurant, we were given a warm welcome by the friendly hostess and seated quickly. This was our first time at The Chase F&O, and we were here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The waiter Thomas was friendly and professional, and helpful with questions we had regarding the menu. The restaurant was also generous in providing us with 2 complimentary glasses of prosecco, to celebrate our special occassion. This was a pleasant surprise, and very much appreciated.
We shared the Tuna Nachos, and the Yonge Platter. Both were good, and the raw oysters/clams were fresh. Our mains were the Mac and Cheese with lobster, and the Grilled seafood. The flavours were great, and the portions were surprisingly good for dinner. We ended the evening with the Coconut creme pie, and it was light and creamy and not super sweet. Just perfect.
Our meal at The Chase F&O was better than expected and we will return again the next time we crave seafood.
We are frequent flyers to The Chase Fish and Oyster. (Great food). This time, we went for my grandmothers 70th birthday. Our reservation was at 8:00pm, when arriving already 6 min late, we were told our table was not ready and told to sit at bar which was full. We only got sat down at 8:45pm. Normally I wouldn’t mind, but having made reservations a long time before hand as well as being with a senior, I was slightly disappointed with the service or lack of.
First time going to Chase and it was a great experience. We’ll be back every Tim we’re in town.
Food was amazing and service was phenomenal. We had reservations and there was still a bit of a wait but the staff did a great job of making us feel comfortable and appreciated, and kept us informed. Highly recommend Chase to anyone looking for great fresh seafood Downtown.
The ambiance of the chase is very laid back yet posh at the same time. This restaurant is for seafood lovers for sure, they have amazing creative dishes; for example, their tuna nachos were absolutely amazing. Their oysters were very fresh and they have a decent selection. The service was also really great, everyone in the restaurant is very nice and they form a great team. I would definitely go back and highly recommend, whether it be for a lunch or a date this is going to be one of my go-to restaurants from now on.
Always a great place for a nice, but not over-the top dining experience. Great for pre- show or casual, upscale meeint
