    Overall we enjoyed our experience here. Our daughter was celebrating her 13th birthday and has said she is interested in taking culinary program after high school so we thought it would be a good experience for us to try this restaurant for the first time. Ambience and service was very good and but the food was just luke warm, could’ve been hotter. We had the shrimp fettuccini, steak frites, pumpkin seed soup, and roast salmon.

    We will be returning again. The menu selections are not exhaustive but even then it was hard to choose both the appetizers and main course. Every dish was amazing both in the presentation and the actual flavours.

    It was my first time at The Chef's Table but I will certainly be back! From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was impressed. The friendly attention of the staff, the delectable choices on the menu, the presentation on each plate that came to our table, the cool music coming over the speakers...both my guest and I were wowed. Our lunch was memorable for all the right reasons!

    For a lunch gathering of four longtime friends who meet only annually we were given a banquette near the rear of the restaurant which nonetheless left for some challenge to catch conversations across the table. But a testimonial of the restaurant's success on a Monday lunchtime! All the servers were attentive ... and learning ... but charming and professional. Several menu items fit a seniors' luncheon preferences, more modest than a full dinner and our table sampled the dumplings, risotto and shrimp pasta options, all tasty and beautifully plated and luncheon portions. The appetizer of mushroom salad was easily shareable, even beyond two. Only two of us had room for dessert, an English cake in custard sauce and a chocolate mousse that was very generous with various chocolate confections and a creme anglaise to moisten the combination. It is a pleasure to support the students and we were glad to leave a non-tip to support their program.

    Although my companion and I are not vegetarians, we tried a vegetarian mushroom dish, and it was so incredible. I couldn’t believe it. My only concern was that the ambiance was a bit industrial looking, and I noticed that the only way to the restroom was down two flights of stairs, so there’s no way I can bring my wife down here you’re already cutting out a lot of business by not taking account of the needs of older people. The server was pleasant, but had no idea about the wines and I’m quite sure that we probably got the different wines and Hui ordered but it was OK. We understand that it’s a school that people are learning.

    Last night my husband and I went to The Chef’s House for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The food (steak for me and shrimp fettuccine for him) was excellent and the service was great! It was really nice to see young student/future chefs in action. We both highly recommend this restaurant and we’ll be back!

    student waitress can refrain from askin "if everythings ok ?" too many times because can interfere with conversations. Coffee can be hotter. Waitress can remove dishes n cutlery fro table first, before prividing dessert menu. Overall, food and service are good.

    The food tasted fabulous, was wonderfully presented, and served with enthusiasm. It was also very good value and the wine selection was good. Highly recommend- a vast culinary improvement on the last time I visited. Well done.

    Pleasant experience with attentive service. We were not happy with our soup starter and we were immediately offered an alternative. The main steak dish was tasty. The chocolate dessert was enjoyable but not the dark chocolate described in the menu. Wine we chose was the Spanish white rioja which was delicious and reasonably priced compared prices charged by many restaurants these days.

    The meal was tasty, and great value for money but the service was disjointed. We had a table of 10 and our food came out in separate waves. Half of our party finished eating prior to the rest getting their food. It also took close to 2 hours for us to get our meals including dessert and the bill. We had a much better experience the last time we were there with a party of 4.

    GBC Chef's House is the City's Hidden Gem with a great ambience for lunch (friends or business), healthy delectable food paired with teas, impeccable service and public transportation access.     Excellent food and friendly staff/students. Some minor hiccups in service (e.g. reaching across to pour water, clearing) as they are learning, but their enthusiasm and desire to do a good job more than makes up for it.

    We had an amazing time - I planned a last minute proposal there and they were so great setting up before getting there. Then, while there, the service was great. Everyone was so attentive and so friendly! The food - where do I start - the bread is so fresh, and the everything seasoning on one of them was amazing. After, we had the prosciutto with burrata - the cheese is so fresh, and it comes with some veggies and fruits, along with some Parmesan balls, which were to die for. Our main courses were the Steak Frites and Mushroom Risotto - both so flavourful and cooked to perfection. As a nice gesture for the proposal, they built this lovely dessert tray, with one of every dessert and a chocolate piece that said love is in the air tonight. It was all fabulous! Even without the proposal, we were already planning to come back! Thanks to everyone there.

    We had a great meal and lovely time. The menu has a nice variety without having too many options. The food was delicious and plated very professionally. I loved the TV that showed part of the kitchen. We missed the oppotunity to view the chefs working in the open concept kitchen so we will ask for a different table next visit for that experience. The only 4 star I gave was for the service and only because the server didn't clear all the dishes after a course and wasn't super knowledgeable about the ingedients in some of the dishes. We were told that they were new so that's fine, he was nervous. I'm only mentioning it for feedback purposes. Fantastic experience and can't wait for our next visit!

    Remember that it is a school restaurant. The food and service may be a little below standard. But the prices remain those of a good restaurant... We had some issue with our waiter who argued when we said the steak was overcooked (asked medium-rare) instead of looking for a solution. I mean we showed him the meat was overcooked and we asked medium-rare, and he kept saying that it is medium-rare because he wrote medium-rare on his tablet, even with the dish in front of his eyes. And that lasted 5min before someone came to his help. His manager did not help much but then the Chef handled the situation. Food is good yet a bit pricey for the quantity. Yes students must learn, but probably better to let them confront clients only when they are a minimum ready.

    We had a fabulous dinner at the Chef's House. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and the ambience was great! The prices are very reasonable. We always love to go to the Chef's House after theatre!

    As always, the culinary experience was extremely good. The food servings were first-rate. We had to smile and sympathize with our waiter -> it was his very first day serving the public! Of course, given that circumstance, the service was certainly uneven, but we didn't mind. Because of a large group dining in the basement, bringing out our orders was somewhat delayed. It was good to see the restaurant busy, but better scheduling for all guests should be considered. This was not our first visit to The Chef's House and, of course, we will return.

    I can’t say enough good about my experience at this restaurant! It is a teaching environment so at the beginning of each semester the servers are obviously inexperienced but their desire to please more than makes up for this. The choice of items on the menu was exceptional and it rivaled any fine dining food quality I have had. I would not hesitate to go back and encourage anyone wanting an excellent meal at an excellent price point, especially if you appreciate the value of on the job training, to try it out!
