All in all, I was surprised by the professionalism of the staff. The food was excellent, except for the potatoes that accompanied the short ribs. They were so puréed that it looked like foam, but the ribs were fantastic. Everything else was very good. I will come back.

My companion and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at The Chef’s House. The food was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the sunchoke soup. The students of the George Brown College culinary program are in there pitching and delivering excellent results. Our server was delightful and made us feel very welcome. Excellent value!! I’ve been trying to get here for about nine months and finally made it just before the restaurant closes for the academic year I’ll be back next autumn .

Sorry for not having pictures as everything was beautifully presented and it was all delicious. I had the beef short ribs with polenta and broccolini. Melt off the bone and excellent. My friend had the mushroom pasta and she was pleased. We both indulged in the sticky toffee pudding for dessert and it was amazing. Very moist and tasty both the pudding and the sauce. Highly recommend. It was difficult to decide as the lemon tart sounded delicious. The service is excellent. Attentive and friendly and informative. A slight delay with meal which was explained and it was also minimal. Really appreciated the information as it is uncommon to feel like you, as a customer have any understanding of what is happening. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal.

There are multiple options in each of the categories of food: appetizer, entree and dessert. Plus a very decent wine offering by the bottle or the glass. Several cocktail options as well and beer. All food and drink choices are very reasonably priced. $10 for a good cocktail in Toronto?! This is the place. No gluten free bread, crackers or pasta. Food is very good, and nicely plated. Attentive service. Very clean minimilist interior, comfortable chairs and ambiance. A good experience and one that offers real life experience to waiters, bartenders, chefs etc. studying at George Brown Culinary School. A new menu starts in May (the current menu on offer until then) and The Chefs House is also participating in Summerlicious with bookings starting in June. Sign me UP!
