   The food was excellent and worth every penny. The restaurant has a somewhat casual, but still nice feel. The service was, unfortunately, abysmal in terms of speed. Our waitress seemed to completely disappear for long stretches, with glasses sitting empty for most of the meal.

   The service was amazing from the start. Great choice on the menu for a special Sunday dinner out rather than a basic meal and at a decent price. Food was delicious and could have eaten the cheesy leeks all up by myself. The most amazing sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had. Highly recommend a visit. Thank you Chequers

    Lovely roast dinner, great flavours and good amount of food. Wine was a bit pricey as were starters and desserts. Service could have been improved. Had to ask a few times for water to be brought to the table and for a dessert menu. Staff were friendly though.

    Nice little boozer tucked away near the Assembly Rooms with a small terrace out the front. Super fresh seafood and good wines. We had a whole brill between us and it was fab. Thanks guys, we'll be back.

    Having enjoyed a family meal at the Chequers a few weeks ago we recommended it to some friends. However, Sunday early evening seemed to be when dishes ran out on the menu. But we were not told that until we came to order, nor were we informed of any specials. When we asked for some green veg to go with the fish, we were told that's not usually possible on a Sunday. Then some overcooked cabbage and broccoli appeared. We had a pleasant evening with our friends despite the food but will not be back soon.

    Decent enough but ultimately mildly disappointing dining experience. Everything was ok, nothing pointedly wrong other than waiting staff being uncertain about menu. Flavours and style of food we had just didnt shout out enthusiasticly, sadly. Didn't hate it ,didnt love it , wouldnt rush back.

    The food was good, although the lamb and veal could have been more tender. The sauces and sides were delicious. Our server did a great job, but other staff were loudly chatting and it felt disrespectful.

    We were there on Sunday and the menu was "Sunday roast". The portions were beyond generous, I had wellington and my husband had pork belly - both super tasty. We were unfortunately too stuffed to try the desserts that looked amazing. Would definitely come back to try the regular menu, if I lived in Bath :) Service was excellent!

    I had guests visiting the UK for the first time and to give them a proper roast dinner experience I decided to take them here. The best decision ever! The food was fantastic, the best roast I have ever had as well. The staff was very attentive and I will definitely be returning when in Bath again.

    The food was absolutely fantastic! The server was knowledgeable, efficient and nice. And the atmosphere - we were upstairs and able to watch the kitchen staff in their calm elegant dance of a dinner rush. It was just a great evening on every level.

    A spontaneous after-work visit found us enjoying a very pleasant (and tasty) few hours at Chequers! Our waitress (apologies for not finding out her name) was very attentive and gave excellent advice when asked her opinion whilst deciding between equally appealing sounding dishes. Both of our meals were extremely flavourful and well prepared and presented. The wine was also very good. Basically, we will definitely be going back!

    Our neighbourhood gastro pub always delivers! We had an impromptu Sunday dinner there and it was lovely. We were in the top room this time and it was great to see the open kitchen but we do prefer the ambience of the ground floor dining rooms. We are so pleased we could be fitted in at short notice so it's not a complaint at all. We feel very lucky to live so close to such a great pub.

    Wonderful experience, the food was outstanding and our waiting staff were both charming and attentive. One niggle which did dent our lovely lunch was the attitude of the lady who greats and shows you to the table. She was quite put out when we requested to move to a different table as she told us that it is the system that allocates tables, we requested that maybe we just switch with whoever is allocated that table, she made it very clear that this displeased her somewhat.

    Came for my wife’s birthday, third time we’ve been and not been disappointed. Great food, service and the place is lovely. Just wish it wasn’t at the top of a great big hill, that’s Bath for you I guess.
