   We were shown to the upstairs room - much quieter, and a view into the kitchen! The food we had was top class - they well deserve their listing in the Michelin guide - beautifully cooked, tasty and well presented. The staff were attentive without being over bearing - will most definatelt recommend and go agin.

   Everything about this place is great. Sunday lunch? Best ever!!! Burger night Wednesday? Best burger ever!!! Dog friendly 🐶 not just tolerant like other places but actively friendly, treats & all!! Last night I had the most delicious burger with a glass of crisp rosé for £15 ? Just amazing

   Excellent Sunday roast dinner for six hungry vegetarians and our accompanying carnivore. Lovely, friendly and relaxed service and very welcoming to our slightly grumpy Labrador.

   Not bad, but not as good as I'd expected from reviews. I'd booked a Sunday lunch with my family & was expecting great things having come across reviews citing it as the best roast in Bath. It was very busy as I'd expected & as indeed the restaurant must expect. I had the roast beef which unfortunately had quite a bit of fat running through it. When you get two slices & have to cut a significant amount away due to fat, that's a shame. 5 of my party of 7 had roasts including roast potatoes. All of the potatoes were very dry & quite hard, as though they'd stood for a long time having been cooked. We had to ask for salt & pepper, some cutlery & had to notify staff that there was no toilet paper in the loo. The desserts were good, but at £9 each, they seemed pretty expensive. Sadly, we won't be back as we simpy did not think it was worth the money, nor did it live up to the hype.

   The food is excellent - the bread and the scallops were very good and the whole roasted plaice was perfect. The service is very good - really attentive and helpful. I loved it and would come back any time.

   Went for Wednesday burger night tried both the beefburger and the Korean BBQ chicken burger which were both superb. Great value, amazing service in a relaxed style. We will be back

    Gastropub just around corner where we were staying. Food was OK but it was very expensive for what it was. Atmosphere was quiet which I like but it was a bit chilly.

    Great place! Friendly and accommodating staff in warm environment. Interesting menu- delicious Cornish sole with samphire and roast sirloin with an array of vegetables. Staff were on hand to help a couple with their small child and a general feeling of comfort throughout. We’ll be back, thank you!

    The Chequers is a great restaurant, with a lovely welcoming atmosphere and great food!! We had a variety of dishes, including starters, mains and desert, and they were all lovely and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!!

    My lover and I enjoyed the food and experience at The Chequers. The scallops were to die for, my lover said as she scoffed them while I wrestled with the terrine. Our mains were beautiful, I had the onglet de boeuf (hangar steak) which came with a rather strange gem lettuce covered in cheese. The burger was very nice and tasty.

    Quaint traditional atmosphere was nice. Service was ok, given it was not crowded at all. Ordered the beef Sunday roast that was 30% inedible fat. Drink and appetizers orders were forgotten. Overall experience was just ok given the amount of the bill. Cocktails were fabulous though!

    Booked a table for 4 to celebrate our sons low key 21st birthday , chequers was his choice after recommendations from friends . Service and food was excellent and we will definitely be coming again , you do pay a bit more than most places but we felt it was value for money as we each had 3 courses which were excellent .

    Superb. possibly best restaurant in Bath and definitely the best main (venison) and dessert (white chocolate) I have had in years. I’ll be back next month for sure.

    Brilliant restaurant We had a vegetarian and a pork belly. Both amazing. Food came hot and plentiful. Best roast I’ve ever had. We sat upstairs where there were bigger parties so quite noisy. We didn’t mind but if you want a quiet table ask for downstairs. Service was fantastic. Very helpful. We had sticky toffee pudding for desert. It was awesome. Enough to share after the large Sunday roast we had.

    Had an amazing experience with the Valentines set menu, the food was flawless and the service was impeccable. We were looked after by a lovely waitress, very attentive and made sure we were looked after. Would recommend to anyone!

    Amazing food, a bit further from the city centre (in a good way!) - a true find in Bath. We had an initial problem with reservation but staff was kind and attentive to us. Truly recommend!
